《Soulmate Bonded: Jungkook xReader (feat. Namjoon)》(Chapter 29) Game Over
Advertisement
Hey my precious (NOT said like Gollum/Smeagol!) readers,
I will be absent for a few (4!) days due to travelling.
(hint, Yoongi & RM stories) during that time so please be excited because .
It fells like you're drifting in a warm cloud.
You wake reluctantly.
You're on your side, curled into him, tucked under his chin...
You know this without even opening your eyes,
The bond tells you so.
The bond is saying
The bond is saying
Jungkook.
His arm is draped over you, pulling you close.
As you open your eyes, your line of sight is aligned with his neck and collar bone...
so close that you can see his pulse.
You watch it beat under his skin, on the smooth, tan skin of his throat and for a moment, you can't breathe, mesmerized.
Your lips are against his chest, the thin fabric of his tee rising and dropping softly with his sleep, grazing your mouth.
One of your hands is shamelessly resting on his waist as though it belonged there, and you'd be embarrassed about it if you weren't even further more mortified by your wrist leaning on his bare hip bone, his skin exposed by sleep pulling low on the waistband of his sweatpants.
You blink, and still, the which was smooth and warm to the touch.
It curved gracefully lower, into the dip of his pants...
You squeak and pull your hand back, squeezing your eyes shut.
Pervert!
You're a pervert!
""
Jungkook moans, his voice all gravel against your ear.
A shiver runs down your back.
Stirring, he opens his eyes and blinks several times, looking down at you as you look up at him, blushing from your forehead to your toes.
His eyes widen.
"I... I," he pulls away, a pink flush dashing over his ears and cheekbone.
"I wasn't, I...."
Whatever he tried to explain was lost as he realized his arm was hooked around
your waist, pinning you to him.
"I'm sorry," he breathes, alarm and panic on his handsome features.
He lets go of you and sits up, staring at you helplessly.
Even his neck is flushed red.
"I didn't... I was... it... I, I'm sorry!"
"It-it-it-it-it's ok," you stammer.
You sit up too, frantically running your hands through your hair which you suspect looks like a bale of hay right now.
You glance at him and notice that tufts of his dark hair are crisscrossing each other, sticking out in random straws over his head.
You can't help but smile.
"" he asks defensively, his fingers flying to his head and tossing his bangs about.
"Is my hair messy?"
He starts shaking his head from side to side roughly, straightening out his sleep-do by sheer force of inertia.
He's headbanging so hard that the bed shakes.
"Oh my god, you fixed it. Stop! It's fixed, it's fixed!!!!"
You laugh, holding out a hand to stop him from shaking himself dizzy.
He finally stops, and he does look a bit dazed for a second, his eyes unfocused.
"Aish," he grabs his neck, as though he gave himself a crick.
Your eyes meet and you both laugh sheepishly, embarrassed.
He still self consciously runs his fingers through his hair, trying to look presentable.
A short knock comes on Jungkook's door, and both of you jerk your heads in that direction.
The sound turns into heavy scraping and some kind of low keening.
"Jungkkoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooookkkkkk..."
"It's Taehyung," Jungkook rolls his eyes.
"Come eat breakfast, manager hyung brought food, then we have to go to the studio!"
Taehyung rubs himself on the door, and the entire door shudders, sounding like a ghost movie.
"Jungkoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooook"
"You want me to come out there?" Jungkook shouts at him.
The sound immediately stops, following by fading shuffling footsteps.
You burst out laughing.
Jungkook sighs.
Then he reaches across the short distance, and places his hand over yours.
"Hey, look... I... I wasn't trying to, to... take advantage.
It seemed right at the time because we were both exhausted. We needed to Heal, and I know we Heal better when we're hugging, and... I...
But "
He grips your hand tight, a genuine apology on his face.
You trying not to think about what your wrist was touching when you woke...
You nod.
"It's okay, you were right. We probably needed it. I have to say, I don't think I've felt so rested since... since we bonded."
You wriggle the fingers on your bonding hand, and realized he was right.
It felt... light, and comfortable.
You felt great all over.
"Me too," Jungkook says, flexing his bonding hand and looking at it in awe.
"Excuse me now, I have to go get some free breakfast from your kitchen," you grin.
He grins back.
-----
It's hard for you to enjoy the fruit cup when you know that Jungkook is on the other side of the wall.
Just kidding, you never think about that kind of stuff.
Ever.
Because you're just an innocent fluff.
But you do sit in the sofa chair, spearing a piece of melon in the coffee room while Bangtan get changed in the studio on the other side of the wall.
The guys have all shovelled down their breakfasts in the car on the way to Bighit, while you replied some work emails on your phone in transit and are finally enjoying your breakfast now.
That's why you got to witness the next wonderful scene that happened.
You are just minding your own business, chewing on a piece of fruit when the choreographer arrives and pulls open the door to the dance studio.
With him are two managers, a scheduling noona, and three stylists, including Mira.
Now the women are used to seeing the guys get changed.
They tend to go about their business, because let's face it, if they all had to leave the room every time a shirt was lifted, no one would get any work done.
But it was something entirely different, when you sit and chew and watch as Mira doesn't go through the door, doesn't go about her work.
And rather just stands there.
Mira is standing there, looking straight through the door.
You follow her gaze.
To see that...
You can't blame her for being around.
That was her job.
You can't even blame her for not turning her back to him.
Everyone was busy; they couldn't always avert their eyes when the Bangtan guys were getting changed.
But for her to stand there, staring so blatantly with not even an attempt to look away or do anything else...
Made your blood boil.
She was watching him like it was her right.
Like he didn't deserve any privacy.
Like it was for granted.
And it's not because your naked wrist touched his naked hip, which means that you had basically slept together naked at that point even though all your clothes were on, that you basically considered him chained and shackled to you forev- or maybe it was who knows.
Whatever, the tangent is too long.
But the red stabs of light come into your vision again, and you know you're going to do something.

Your soulmate bruising hand is hot, red hot.
And this time, you are not going to let her get away with it.
You swallow the fruit in your mouth as you walk, because you didn't want to be a disgusting person who spewed fruit as she shouted.
But then you're slamming your hand against the door frame, your arm and body cutting off the studio in front of Mira, forcing yourself into her space as you say coldly,
"Hey, friend."
Mira takes a step back and blinks, but she seems more surprised by your tone and attitude rather than by your catching her staring.
Her eyes fly to your expression and you can see her trying to figure you out.
You don't like that either.
"Hey sweetie," she says, her face settling back into a friendly smile again.
She puts a light hand on your arm so that by social norms you have no choice but to drop it, letting her walk forward.
And then she does, giving you a "goodbye" wave as she joins everyone else in the studio.
But if you were ever really going to be friends, you needed to talk it out with her.
So you follow her to a table, standing beside her patiently as she puts down her styling box.
Taehyung and Jungkook both smile at you as you pass them.
You nod back, not wanting to be distracted.
"Mira," you say as you watch her pull out a blow dryer and two combs.
"Yes?" She seems to finally realize that you weren't going away.
She looks you in the eye and gives you her full attention.
"You have your own soulmate, so I'm sure this won't come to you as a surprise when I tell you that soulmate stuff is really touchy," you say as you gesture toward Jungkook, hoping she'll understand without there actually needing to be fisticuffs.
You can see a manager watching you, confused, as you've cornered Mira.
Jungkook was shooting you curious glances too.
Maybe the fact that you were gesturing at him was clueing him in that you were talking about him, who knows, but he suspected.
You half expect that Mira would play dumb, but she doesn't.
She gives you a small half-smile.
"I know what you mean," she says. "But just because I have a soulmate doesn't mean I don't appreciate good looks, or nice guys.
Jungkook is your soulmate, but you still find Taehyung handsome, or Jimin charming, don't you?
And that's alright. It doesn't mean anything. We still love our soulmates."
It seemed like a valid point now that she voiced it.
But it still felt wrong, the way she had been ogling him, like he was a piece of meat.
Heck, though, sometimes you stared at Jungkook like he was a piece of meat.
But she didn't know that.
Or well, he was your soulmate, maybe it was the bond that was making you- nope.
That wasn't true.
It was definitely just you.
You sigh.
"I don't know how to phrase it, but it wasn't right," you decide to just be honest. "Jungkook didn't know you were watching him change, and you were. For a long time."
She nods.
"You're right. I've just been around the boys so long that it didn't feel like a big deal.
But it was.
I didn't respect him, and it's not right.
I'll go apologize to him right now."
Before you can even react, she's strutted off across the floor, a comb still in her hand.
She approaches Jungkook, who is doing stretches and warming up exercises with Jin in front of the mirror.
"Hey Kookie," she sits down next to his stretching form.
"Hi noona," Jungkook replies.
He is only touching base on his movements now.
His eyes dart back and forth between you and Mira.
Jin is in on the conversation, and the managers nearby clearly have their ears perked.
Taehyung flat out scoots over and joins their circle, and Yoongi has put down his water bottle to listen.
Mira shrugs apologetically, with a slightly guilty look on her face.
"Um, I'm sorry... but earlier, when you were changing your shirt, I kinda saw. I was watching. I made your girlfriend jealous."
Everyone turns to look at you.
The managers have incredulous looks on their faces.
Even Yoongi is frowning.
Taehyung just smiles, like it's a joke.
This isn't right.
For some reason, it sounded different now.
For some reason, now you felt ridiculous.
Now that she was so... casual about it.
The choreographer sighs.
"Sometimes that's just part of the job. Especially for the stylists."
He isn't looking at you, he's just talking into the room in general.
But you know he's talking to you.
A manager waves at Mira.
"Don't worry about it, just go get ready."
Mira nods.
"Anyway, sorry Jungkook," she pats his shoulder.
"I just don't want anyone to be upset."
She shrugs again good-naturedly, and beams a smile at you as she returns.
Somehow this isn't what you wanted, but Mira had done nothing wrong.
She starts pinning hairclips to her shirt, digging through her box as she asks you,
"Are things okay now? Between us?"
No.
We're not okay.
Jungkook is looking at you from across the studio.
He cocked his head as your eyes met, a question clear in his eyes.
With no choice left, you give him a smile.
Mira rubs your arm as she walks away to talk to another stylist.
No, things are not okay between you and I, Mira.
And
So it isn't just me then.
Is the first thought that comes into his head.
If Mira noona was right, if Soulmate did get jealous...? Because noona saw Jungkook changing shirts...?
Then it meant that Jungkook was not, in fact, the only jealous one around.
He isn't sure that he should be happy about it.
But he's kind of happy about it.
He definitely remembers how he went full-fledged rage mode on both Jimin and Taehyung on two separate occasions over his soulmate, and they were not his brightest hours.
But if she was experiencing it too... then perhaps it meant that Jungkook was less crazy than he thought.
Jungkook tries to shoot Soulmate what he hopes is a reassuring grin, in replacement to the dumbfounded look that was on his face previously.
But he doesn't know if it got across.
Because Soulmate looked away from him pretty fast.
She lowers her head and leaves the studio.
Jungkook wonders if he should go after her.
And he's already stood and turned around to follow her when the choreographer walks to the front and starts the music.
Jhope shakes his head at Jungkook.
"Give her some time to cool down, talk to her later," Jhope says.
Jungkook nods, because the other Bangtan members were already lining up in formation around him.
But Jungkook knows that he's not going to play this game anymore.
He knows that he's going to go to her.
He knows that he's going to tell her that he gets jealous all the time too, and that they were going to work through it.
And then he's going to ask her...
Is it really just the bond?
