《A Fiery Love: A Charlie Weasley Love Story》Chapter 10: What was happening to me?

I couldn’t sleep after the dream. I ended up pacing around and writing letters to my mom and Jenny to tell them how everything was going. It was 4:03 AM when I decided to take a run. I needed to clear my mind and running unusually did the trick.
I put on my running shoes and stretched out my hamstrings. I headed out the door and began to run. I ran and ran and ran. I had no idea where I was going, but just like that night I took off running. As I ran I came across a small village, that’s when I knew it was time to turn back. I took off towards the cottage, but ran out of breath half way there. I sat on a boulder and rested my head in my hands. Tears flowed down my face as I thought about what a coward I was for running away that night, but I was so scared all I could do was run.
When I returned to the cottage it was 6:47 AM. I had a little more than an hour to get ready. I showered and threw on some clothes. I didn’t bother with putting make up on. It was obvious that I had been crying and nothing was going to cover it up.
I walked towards the Institution but didn’t go inside. I instead walked up the mountain and watched the dragons. Today everyone seemed happy. In one corner there was a small Norwegian Ridgeback just laying down taking everything in. In the center a large Chinese Firebolt was chewing on something and had one of her babies hiding between her legs. Even the Horntail was just chilling. Normally he was bulling others, but today he just sat on the side cleaning his wings.

I lost myself in thought and didn’t hear Charlie walked up behind me. He didn’t say anything he just sat next to me and watched the dragons.
“You were there that night.” I said. Charlie looked at me a little confused. “You were there during the War when I got stunned, weren’t you?”
“Yes.” He looked back to the dragons and began fiddling with his fingers.
“I wasn’t suppose to be there that night. Seeing everything that happened that night was too much for me to handle, so I ran.” I didn’t take my eyes off of the small Ridgeback.
Charlie didn’t say anything he just continued to fiddle with his fingers. We stayed silent and observed the dragons.
“From what I heard you were brave that night.” I looked at him like he had just slapped me. “I heard you saved children and got them back home.”
“It was a lucky guess that Dumbledore’s Floo Powder system worked. I didn’t know what I was doing.” I still stared at him as he watched what was below us.
“Why are you bringing this up Izzy?” He finally turned to me.
“Last night I dreamt about that night. All I heard was screaming, but I didn’t know where it was coming from.” I looked out into space. “I really don’t know why everything’s coming back to me, but it is.”
“You were screaming.” He looked at me.
“What?”
“You were splintched before you were stunned. You screamed but kept running. Your arm was bleeding like crazy. Someone stunned you and you hit the ground hard. I ran to you to see if you were alive or not. When I saw that you were I carried you to the edge of the forest and hid you until it was safe. I went back for you and took you to the hospital, but the fight wasn’t over so I went back and fought.”

Was that what really happened? I don’t remember being splintched. No one said i had been either.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” I asked a little angrily.
“I thought you knew what happened. By the time I went back to the hospital they had moved you and I couldn’t go see you.”
My mind was spinning. I still didn’t know why I was even talking about that night. Why was everything coming back?
We sat there looking at each other confused about what had just happened.
“I don’t understand what’s going on.” I said in a whisper. “Why am I dreaming about that night?”
“I don’t know.” He looked worried. He stood up and took my hand. “Come on, let’s go see Baby.”
Baby was sad looking when I went to see him. I gave him a small piece of meat to see it that would help. It helped a little, but not much. I guess we both had rough nights.
Charlie could see I was just not myself.
“Let’s get out of here.” He gave me a smile. “Let’s go back to my place and have a few drinks or something.”
I didn’t respond I just followed him out. We walked a few feet from the building when Charlie stopped. He picked me up like a little kid and I wrapped my legs around him. I laid my head on his shoulder and he continued to walk. I probably looked ridiculous, but I didn’t care. Him carrying me like this soothed me. We reached his house but he didn’t put me down. He opened the door and took me inside. He finally laid me on his bed and laid down next to me.
“That night really shook you up, didn’t it?” He asked. I nodded my head.
“Things like that aren’t suppose to happen. Children dying, people being murdered, that’s not what goes on at Hogwarts.” I didn’t think he heard what I said, but he did.
“Is that why you never went back to take the teaching position?” He began playing with my hair.
“Yes.”
“Well, we’re going to have to fix that now aren’t we?” He gave me a smile that in turn forced me to smile.
I scooted closer to him and buried my face into his chest. He kissed the top of my head, and I finally fell asleep.
A woman screaming…
But it wasn’t the same scream as before. I looked around and saw I was in a hospital. I looked down and I was in a hospital gown. The woman screamed again. I walked towards the scream.
“One more push! Just one more!”
I peaked through the window and saw a woman giving birth. She was in pain, sweating, tired, and… she looked like… me?
Finally the baby was born. The doctor handed her the baby, but she refused to take it.
“I don’t want it.” Was all she said.
The doctor walked out the room with the baby. They walked past me not even seeing I was there. I looked back to the woman and she was crying. She got up from her bed, dug through her bag, pulled out her wand and apparated.
My eyes shot open to see Charlie standing above me.
What was going on with me?
