《A Fiery Love: A Charlie Weasley Love Story》Chapter 28: Nowhere I'd Rather Be

We arrived at Charlie’s parents house a few days after meeting my father and step mom. Molly was excited to see us, and Arthur asked me a bunch of questions about muggles. I was happy to answer them to the best of my ability, but sometimes I had no idea what he was talking about. He once asked me what a convertible sonic sponge was. I think he got mixed up with the car, a tooth brush, and a regular sponge, but I just waited until Molly changed the subject.
“Arthur leave the poor girl alone! Can’t you see you’re boring her?” Molly knew when I had enough questions and always came to my rescue. She gave me a wink as she went back to cooking dinner. “Bill and Fleur should be here soon. Why don’t you two set the table?”
Charlie and I got up from the living room and walked over to the cabinets where the dishes were. Charlie normally used magic to do this, but he knew I liked to do things by hand. We hadn’t talked anymore about the marriage subject. I guess it was mutual that we both wanted to get married, but it wasn’t set in stone.
“Hey Charlie, Izzy!” Said Bill entering the house. Fleur was right behind him, but wasn’t carrying Vicky. Fleur came up to me and gave me a great big hug.
“How have you been Isabella?” Her smile was big and warm.
“I’ve been great! Finally went up and saw my dad.” Her and Bill’s eyes grew wide with this news. “It went really great actually. Him and his wife are really nice people.”
“That’s all that matters then, doesn’t it?” Bill smiled at me.
“Dinner’s ready!” Molly said carrying it over to the table.
Dinner was great, as usually. Molly cooked roast beef with vegetables and potatoes. Arthur was talking about the raids he had to deal with at work, and Molly mentioned that Angelina should be due any day now. I talked about how I was going to meet my half brother and half sister when school lets out in a few months.

“You must be excited to meet them.” said Arthur.
“I really am! I always thought I was an only child, and it’s nice to know I have siblings.” I said between bites.
“You know you can just borrow one of our siblings if you really were that lonely.” Said Bill winking at me.
“What is it with you two trying to give me your brothers and sister?” I said nudging Charlie.
“You can only take so much of them!” Joke Charlie.
We all laughed and went back to eating our food for a while in silence.
“Where is Victoire?” I asked breaking the silence.
“She is with Andromeda Tonks and Teddy.” Bill said.
“We would not be surprise if those two ended up together! They are inseparable!” Fleur said with a giggle.
“I think I hear wedding bells in the future.” I said joking.
“Well let’s hope another couple is before them.” Said Arthur winking at Charlie and I.
“And you two thought I was pushing it?” Added Molly raising an eyebrow at Arthur.
“I was just saying!” Arthur said raising his hands up in defense. “I’m pretty sure we all were thinking it! I just happen to say it.”
I could feel my cheeks blush, and I was certain Charlie was completely red by now. I smiled a little bit and put my hand on Charlie’s lap. He entwined his fingers in mine giving my hand a small squeeze.
Charlie’s POV
I needed to get my dad alone. I wanted to talk to him about proposing to Izzy. I hadn’t even mentioned the idea to Bill; he would probably kill me for not informing him first, but I needed my dad for this one.
I was so nervous I thought my heart was going to fall out my ass. Why was I so fucking nervous? I was just talking to my dad about Izzy! Something I had done countless of times, but then of course I wasn’t asking him what he thought of her I was asking how to propose to her.

“Izzy, Fleur, would you mind helping me out with something?” Asked Mum. Fleur and Izzy stood up and followed my mum upstairs. This was my chance to talk to Dad, even if Bill was here.
“Dad?” My voice cracked.
“What is it son?” He gave me a slight grin. Bill perked up acknowledging my nervousness.
“I-I need to ask you something, well tell you something first.” I was stalking, something I had done since I was a kid. Bill was really interested now.
“Well, whatever it is son you can always talk to me.” For some reason that made me for nervous.
“Dad…” I looked down at my hands. I felt like such an idiot. “I’m going to propose to Izzy, but I don’t know how.” It all came out at once with no stop.
Bill and my father looked at each other without an expression on their faces. Finally Dad turned to look at me with a huge smile on his face.
“Well it’s about time!” He clapped his hand on my shoulder. “We were all beginning to wonder when you were going to.”
“Yeah Charlie! We really thought you would have asked her sooner.” Added Bill.
“You don’t think it’s too soon?” I asked.
“Not at all!” Dad shook his head. “She’s a lovely girl, and you two seem happy with each other. That’s all that matters!”
“We all think she’s great Charlie. I’m proud to call her my sister-in-law.” Bill said with a smile. “And I’m sure Fleur is going to die when she hears the news.”
“You can’t tell her! I want all of this to be a surprise. I also want to write her parents and get their permission first.”
“I knew I raised you boys right!” My Dad said proudly.
Izzy’s POV
Molly didn’t need Fleur and I to help with anything. She just wanted to have some girl time with us to catch up on the gossip and whatnot. Fleur mentioned about how her and Bill wanted to take a small trip to France to visit her family, but just needed to see if Bill could get time off. I didn’t mention that Charlie said he wanted to get married. I figured I’d just wait until he actually proposed to tell them, seeing as how that might not be for a long while.
“Well, we better get back downstairs. The boys are probably wondering where we’ve run off to.” Molly wiped her hands on her apron and led the way downstairs.
The men looked as if they had been talking about something important, and we had just interrupted. Charlie looked particularly nervous, but so did Bill and Arthur. I really had to intention of finding out what they were talking about. Boys need to have their bonding time by talking about inappropriate stuff that could not be mentioned in the presence of women. Whatever they were talking about was long gone from their minds.
“I think it’s time for us to head out.” Announced Bill standing up from the table. “We need to do this more often.”
“Yes! I love seeing you Izzy. Maybe we could have a girly day just the two of us, what do you think?” Fleur asked politely.
“I would love that!” I hugged her and she kissed my cheek.
We all hugged goodbye and promised to see each other soon. Charlie and I apparated back home and opened a bottle of wine. We sat on the couch, sipping on our wine.
“You know we’ll probably become alcoholics if we keep drinking like this!” I said already feeling happy.
“Nah!” Charlie said already on his third glass.
Charlie kissed my cheek and played with my hair with his free hand. He always knew what to do to make me happy and relaxed. I sat down my glass and laid my head in his lap.
When Charlie and I had these moments it was as if time stood still. There was nowhere else I’d rather be than in his arms. If I could stay like this forever, I would.

The Dog with a Chair
As of now, this story is dropped. It was an excellent learning experience, but the quality suffered too much from me trying new things for me to continue in good concience. Thanks to anyone that read it. I'm leaving this story up as a record of my first ever attempt at publishing something I've wrote. To any new writers out there, remember that even if the stuff you write is trash, you can still learn a lot from writing it. - November 17th 2020 Guy gets involved in advocacy for civil engineering projects, then gets pulled into an interdimensional war. Third person with a focus on one main character (Stanley) with the occasional point of view from another character important to story progression. Writing style tends to shift early on as I figure out how to write (this is my first book). Still learning, hoping to improve. Current style choice is to have a focus on character dialogue/actions with interspersed internal monologue in italics. No current end is set for the story, with the primary goal of this project being to learn to express myself in a written format. Storyline is kept as consistent as practical while covering things I find interesting. Governmental systems are mentioned, but not explained in extreme detail. Sci fi elements are used to reinforce and guide plot progression as I'm able. Personal goals belonging to each character are in the process of being developed, with the hope that they will support or oppose each other in interesting ways later on. Hope you enjoy :)

A Man and His Greatsword
Michael Adkins is a unique 28-year-old man. Born with above average strength and emerald green eyes, he always wanted to live in a fantasy world. He was very much into fantasy light novels, manga, and anime, especially a certain one that involves a black armored man with a large greatsword. Michael always dreamed of going on an adventure in a fantasy world. On a whim, Michael is summoned by the god of Alorah, one of the fantasy worlds he had always read about! Alorah's God, Eden, gives Michael a choice of three bonuses and a custom class to take with him into Alorah. This is the start of Michael's fantasy adventures. P.S. This is my first novel, I'm writing this since there were little novels I've found with a main character that wields a greatsword. Don't expect anything good. There will be a lot of mistakes, so please help me with that! P.P.S The later chapters will (hopefully) be much less cringy than the early ones. Please give it a shot!
