《A Fiery Love: A Charlie Weasley Love Story》Chapter 39: The Battle

"Reducto!”
A blue light flashed past my head. I looked back at where the curse came from. Emily was standing a few feet behind me. Her face was contorted with anger. She raised her wand ready go attack again, but I beat her to it.
“Expelliarmus!” And with that her wand with flying out of her hand.
“You think you’re better than everyone else, don’t you?” She took a step towards me. “Well you’re not!” She shook her head in a mocking way. “Dad left you and even your own mother despises you. No one wants you.”
As she walked towards me I walked backwards. I tripped and fell over a tree root, but she still continued to come towards me. I knew everything she was going to do, but something was still not letting me fight back. Maybe she was right and I really was a coward.
“At least I did the right thing and gave it away instead of keeping it and hating it like your so called mother.” She let out a horrid laugh and stood over me. “You’re such a coward. You have your wand in your hand and you don’t even use it to defend yourself. Just like that night at Hogwarts.”
She walked away from me and picked up her wand. She twirled it in her hands menacingly.
“Don’t worry, I won’t kill you. But you won’t remember anything after this.” She raised her wand and smirked at me.
“Obliviate!”
"Protego!" I screamed blocking her spell.
I stood up pointing my wand directly towards her. Her eyes flickered a little. She was surprised that I defended myself.
"You're wrong about everything! You wouldn't know love if it came a bit you in the ass." My voice wasn't shaky; it was strong and confident. "You're a heartless bitch who can't stand to have someone else in the spot light."
She stood her ground without taking her eyes off me. I knew she was trying to think of something else, but she didn't plan for me to do this.
"HA! You wish." She said with a laugh. "Carpe Retractum!"
My body was trapped in an invisible rope and I was being pulled roughly towards her. I could feel the leafs and twigs burning my back and bottom, but I couldn't do anything about it.
Emily's face was twisted in an evil smile. For a moment she reminded me of Bellatrix Lestrange, and that frightened me even more. As much as I tried I couldn't get of her grips. All I could do was watch her with wide eyes as she destroyed me, or worse, killed me.

"Deprimo!" Came a loud voice.
Emily fly across the yard, hitting the ground with a thud. I could finally move again and got up as quickly as I could. I looked to see where the spell had come from, and my chest tightened when I saw those grey eyes.
"Are you alright?" Draco Malfoy asked me.
"Yeah." Was all I could say.
"Well, well, well if it isn't the treacherous Draco Malfoy." Emily was still on the ground trying to get herself up. "Why am I not surprise that you are here with her?"
Draco said nothing but stared at her with no fear in his eyes. I'd never seen this side of him before and it made me more curious as to why he came and how he knew we were here.
"Cat got your tongue?" She taunted him.
"You've always been a cold-hearted bitch, haven't you?" He finally said. "You've been jealous of me since I was given that task, personally, four years ago."
"You didn't deserve that task, you sniveling little twit. If anything I should have been the one to carry it out. At least I wouldn't have needed help doing it." Her eyes were locked on Draco. I knew I had to do something.
"Incarcerous!" I yelled. A rope shot out of my wand and tied up Emily causing her to hit the ground once more. "Quick! We need to get her wand."
I ran over to her and stepped on her right hand. She finally released her wand and I took it without thought.
"Never thought you had it in you to use a spell while someone's back is turned." Her eyes focused on me then back at Draco. "Maybe you two should be together, huh? A mudblood and a traitor."
"Petrificus Totalus!" Draco said, and Emily tensed up and froze. "Sorry, but I could never stand when she talked out of her ass."
"IZZY!" Yelled a familiar voice. Jaden ran towards me and scooped me up. "Are you ok? Where's...." He looked down and saw Emily on the ground.
"Izzy!" Charlie said embracing me in a hug. "I was so worried. Are you hurt?"
"I'm fine, thanks to Draco." I looked over at him and looked into his eyes. I threw my arms around him and found myself on the verge of tears. "If you hadn't have come I'd probably be..."
"You saved my ass in school, just repaying the favor." He said with a smile.
"How did you know?" Asked Charlie.
"I've been keeping tabs on Emily since you asked me about your father all those months ago." He said wiping a tear from my face.

"Thank you." Charlie said pulling Draco into a hug.
"Don't mention it Weasley." Draco teased.
They laughed together, both looking on the verge on tears. But then of course we all did, including Jaden. This night had shaken us up, but I was pretty sure I wouldn't be having those nightmares anymore.
Draco Malfoy's POV
Seeing her eyes filled with tears made my chest feel like it was about to implode upon itself. All I wanted to do was to hug her and make everything go away, but I knew that's what she had Weasley for.
I couldn't exactly tell her I was actually watching over her and not Emily. She'd think I was a complete loon! I had to make sure she was safe. I couldn't let anything bad happen to her; I cared too much for her.
Once you love someone the feeling never goes away. No matter how hard you try those amorous feelings never cease. Even though you feel this way you can't let that other person know.
I fell in love with Isabella Jennings when she found me in the library all those years ago. I knew nothing was ever going to happen between us. Girls flirt with the dangerous guy, they don't bring them home; they marry the good guy. I had always been the "bad" guy, but she saw right through that. Charlie Weasley was the right guy for her, and I was happy she'd found him.
"I better get going." I said watching Weasley kiss Izzy on the forehead.
She walked over to me and wrapped her arms around my waist. Feeling her heart beat in sync with mine made my knees go weak.
"Thank you." She whispered. She tip-toed and kissed my cheek lightly.
"No, thank you." I said separating myself from her. I walked a few feet from the three of them, and apparated back to my manor.
Charlie's POV
He loved her. Anyone with half a brain could see that. I think Izzy was the only one who didn't notice, or maybe she was just being nice. Either way I was thankful that he was around to help her out.
Jaden was holding Izzy and staring straight at Emily. You could tell he was pissed about this whole situation, but you could also see that he was torn in two. To chose between your family is a nearly impossible thing to do. I don't know how I would be able to decide if it was between any of my siblings. Even when Percy went a little power hungry I still loved him and would do anything to make sure he was safe.
"What are we going to do about her?" I asked gesturing to Emily. I was a little afraid of what Jaden would have to say.
"Send her to Azkaban." Izzy's head popped up fast.
"What?" Izzy asked in disbelief.
"She's had warrants out for her arrest since the war. There's a reason why she stays in Brazil for such long periods of time." My ears couldn't believe what they were hearing. "I'm tired of trying to hide her now."
"Are you sure about this?" I asked clasping a hand on his shoulder.
"Yeah. I'm sure." He said nostalgically.
We held on to her hard so she wouldn't get away from us. Making the trip to the Ministry was a difficult one for Jaden. He didn't say a word the entire time. Turning her over was even harder. He turned his back unable to watch as they took her away. Izzy was kind about the whole thing. She held Jaden's hand as we left the Ministry, and made sure he got home safely.
I went back to our home and waited for her. I knew she needed to be alone with him as they told Peter and Claire what happened tonight. I sat on the bed waiting her to get back. She didn't get back until almost midnight.
"Are you alright?" I asked pulling her into my arms.
"Yeah." She said rest her head in the crook of my neck. "It was just hard seeing how my dad and Claire reacted."
"This whole experience has been a rough one for you." I said sympathetically. "I would understand if you wanted to postpone the wedding for a later date." Her eyes found mine and her eyebrows were scrunched together.
"I don't want to postpone the wedding. Everything's going to commence as planned. Do you know how hard we've been working on this wedding?!" She said shaking my shoulders.
"If you're sure babe." I said laughing a little.
"Of course Charlie! That is unless you're having second thoughts about me." She said with a cute smirk.
"Sweetheart, I could never have doubts about you." I said kissing her lips. I entwined my fingers into her hair making sure she couldn't get away.
She giggled and placed her hands on my chest. Her tongue traced my lips as she giggled again.
"I'm still not going to sleep with you until after the wedding." She said pushing me away playfully.
"Ugh! Really?" I said falling onto the bed.
"Just six more days Charlie." The words escaped her lips and it hit me. We were going to be married in six days.

Journeys in the Fairworld: The Gatekeeper
Lindsey Fluger was only slightly past eighteen. There was nothing particularly special about her, save that she happened to be the right person at the right time. When Lindsey is asked to join an expedition to another world she makes the mistake of saying yes, plunging herself into a sea of perilous adventure and dark intrigue. Journeys in the Fairworld is a fantasy anthology series set in The Fairworld, a magical realm existing in parallel with our own world which is governed by a group elfin beings known only as “The Good Folk”. These mysterious entities work in secret to keep the peace between the myriad of peoples and nations which dwell in The Fairworld. Complex relationships and bitter rivalries emerge against a backdrop of constrained resources and conflicting values to produce a world of high adventure and tangled mysteries. This novel is technically already completed, and I am currently in the final stages of proofing or editing. As such, there may be a few typos and errors here and there. The final version should be about 130,000 words long, which I will be releasing in stages as I continue editing. I'd love to hear your feedback and comments!
