Bill opened his eyes, feeling a bit dazed.
Fighting the pain in his back, he sat up, and scanned his surroundings. He appeared to have landed in a lush forest, with oversized plants. Speaking of which, he then realized he was sitting near a giant mushroom, that must've broken his fall. Bill turned around, only to see Gompers sitting beside him.
"OK, now I'm convinced you're trying to kill me," Bill said, bitterly.
Gompers bleated, then went to sniff at the grass. Then all of a sudden, the pterodactyl flew by, it's shadow swooping over them. Bill tensed, when it shrieked viciously.
"The ugly thing must be hungry," Bill said, then turned to Gompers. "It's you or me, goat."
There was a pause, before Bill nudged Gompers into the open with his foot. The goat turned to him, looking at him blankly.
Bill crinkled his brow. "Don't look at me like that, if you weren't so darn creepy, then maybe you wouldn't have been stuck outside."
Gompers blinked.
"Yes, I know you're Will's pet, and he cares about you for some reason, but why did he have to dump you onto me of all people?" Bill ranted.
The blond's face softened. "I guess he didn't have a choice, since I refused to talk to him...But, don't I have a reason to? I mean, anyone would've done the same, right?"
Gompers sneezed.
Bill scratched his head thoughtfully. "OK, now that I think about it, most people would just talk about it," He said, then his face turned to cold realization. "Oh my god, Will was right, I should've communicated with him when I had the chance."
He recalled earlier, and his stomach dropped, when he pictured Will's heartbroken expression. What had he done?
"I was afraid of him," Bill said, regretfully. "I was afraid of my own brother. What the hell is wrong with me? When the time came, I listened to some dumb voice rather than my best friend?"
Bill shook in the spot, guilt stabbed through him like a shower of knives. All this time, he thought Will was cowardly...but the real coward was Bill all along.
Bill abruptly felt a warmth against his chest. He looked down, and saw Gompers budding his head gently against him. The blond hesitated, before patting the animal on the head. For a moment, Gompers seemed less creepy in his eyes.
"I'm done being afraid," Bill promised, himself. "Done being afraid of you, Will, and that damn dinosaur."
He stood up, scooping the goat up in his arms. "We're getting out of here," The blond said.
Gompers tilted his head, Bill blinked in realization. He was talking to a goat, he really needed to get out of here, before he completely lost his marbles.
Bill was about to think of a plan, when there was a low rumbling behind him. He slowly turned, when the earth shook, as something began to approach them.
"Gompers," Bill started. "I don't think we're alone down here."
"Baa!" The goat replied.

Back in the nest, each of the group were trapped in solidified sap. They struggled to get out, but so far, they were stuck in place. And tensions rose, as the giant egg before them began to form cracks on it's surface.
After failing to break free, Dipper turned to his uncle, who was trying to melt through their sticky prison. "Grunkle Stan, can't you increase the heat of your flame?"
The old man turned to him. "Kid, with us being so close, I might fry you guys alive."

"OK, let's not do that," Will said.
Crack!
The group turned, when the white shell of the egg, finally crumbled. When it broke, it revealed a huge pterodactyl chick in it's place. The baby blinked it's eyes at them.
"Aww, it's kinda cute," Mabel cooed.
But then, the dinosaur's eyes sharpened, and it shrieked loudly. The group flinched, as it neared them, with a gapping mouth.
"Mr Pines, hurry!" Will shouted.
"I'm trying!" Stan shouted back.
Will's eyes widened, when the chick was minutes away from biting his head off. He braced himself, but then there was a burst of light, as Stan freed one of his hands, and blasted fire at the pterodactyl's face. It squeaked in fear, and backed away. With as much time that he had left, Stan melted his way out of the sap, and quickly worked on the others. Eventually, they all managed to slip out.
"Quick, we need to leave before the mother comes back," Stan said, urgently.
"We can't leave without the others," Mabel insisted.
There was a banshee scream behind them, and they turned to see the pterodactyl baby charging at them. They narrowly dodged it's massive beak, by escaping onto the tracks. They stepped a safe distance away from the nest, with Will almost tripping into the abyss, but Dipper grabbed his arm at the last second.
"I would teleport you guys out of here, but I'm already out of energy as it is," Dipper said, his point emphasized by his pale complexion.
Will frowned, feeling helpless. "Then, what are we--?"
He stopped, when a shadow swooped over them. They looked up, only to see the adult pterodactyl circling over. It spotted them, and immediately went into attack mode. The group ran with their heads covered by their arms, as it tried to make a grab at them. Stan did his best to warn it off, by setting his hands on fire, but that only served as a minor delay for the dinosaur. Fortunately, the group was almost nearing the exit. Stan, Dipper, and Mabel ran onto the ledge, and Will wasn't far behind, when all of a sudden, his foot was stuck in place.
He turned around, and stared in dismay, as he discovered his foot was encased in sap. He really hated this stuff! The others noticed his dilemma, and rushed in to help, but they were interrupted by a roar. Will looked up, and all he could see were two wide wings, and golden eyes staring into his soul. The monster's talons were about to reach and grab him, when another shadow swooped over, and snatched the dinosaur up.
Will's eyes widened, in disbelief. Despite his days living in the weirdest town ever, nothing prepared him for this moment. He was completely dumbstruck by the scene before him. Because what he saw, was a beast grasping his jaws over the dinosaur like it was a chew toy. And most importantly, it was a giant pig...with wings.
The pig was at least twice as big as the pterodactyl, with a round body, beady black eyes, pink skin, and dark pink spots. It had enormous white feathery wings, sprouting out from it's sides. Will's hair flattened, as a gust of wind blew against him every time the pig flapped his wings.
Behind him, Mabel exclaimed. "WADDLES!"
Will snapped his head towards her. "That's Waddles!?"
Mabel nodded excitingly, and then her eyes widened in surprise. "Is that Bill?"
As soon as she said that, Will turned back to the pig. Only now, did he notice the blond boy sitting on top of the animal, clutching a brown goat in his arms. Will felt so relieved in that moment, he thought he might burst into tears.

Waddles went into a lazy spiral, eventually landing onto the ledge with a heavy thud. Waddles dropped the unconscious dinosaur to the floor, and oinked loudly. Will quickly joined the others, as Bill climbed off the pig's wing. Immediately, the blue haired boy ran up and embraced his brother, not noticing that it caused Gompers to be squished slightly between them.
Once he released the other, Bill smiled at him. The blond lifted up the goat. "Here's your pet back...and, I want you to know, I was wrong to think so irrationally."
Will smiled sadly. "In a way, I get it. So, do you still trust me?"
"Of course, I do," Bill chuckled. "I mean, you could drive a sword through my chest, and I'd still think of you as family."
Will felt his heart swell, and felt the urge to hug him again, but he knew how uncomfortable Bill got with physical contact.
"Waddles!"
The brothers turned, to see Mabel's hugging one of the pig's front legs. She looked closed to tears.
"I'm so happy you're alive!" She cried, with joy.
"Mabel," Dipper started, gingerly. Stan was standing beside him. "We owe you an apology, we should've told you the truth."
Mabel looked at them for a while, then smiled softly. "Apology accepted," She said. "Though, you should really be apologizing to Waddles."
Stan rolled his eyes. "Are you serious--"
Dipper nudged him, to shut him up, and nodded to Mabel. "Of course."
The two reluctantly moved closer to pig, looking at him wearily.
"We're sorry, Waddles," Dipper said.
Waddles looked at them blankly, before giving them both a good lick. The two cringed when they were covered in saliva, and Mabel and Bill laughed hysterically.
"We should leave," Dipper said, attempting to wipe himself dry.
"Definitely," Will agreed. "Though, I can't help but feel that we're forgetting something."
The group turned, when a retching sound emitted from the pterodactyl. The Guardians stood in a defensive position, when the dinosaur started moving. The pterodactyl opened it's mouth, but only to puke out a large slime covered ball. However, when the ball unfolded and stood up, it was revealed to be Wendy.
"Thanks for your help, guys," She sniped, voice dripping with sarcasm.
"You okay, Red?" Bill asked.
Wendy gave him a nonchalant shrug, and stepped past him, making squelching sounds as she walked. "I will be, after I take a long bath, and a long nap."
Everyone seemed to agree with that plan, and followed the redhead out of the Jurassic sap hole behind them.
❇❇❇
A while earlier, after freeing Wendy and Dipper's weapons from the sap, the group managed to escape the pit, with the help of Waddles's flight. Afterwards, Mabel returned her pig to her own realm, and the group headed their separate ways. Once again, Will and Bill talked alone in their bedroom.
"So, a disembodied voice warned you about me?" Will recapped, looking terrified by the mere prospect.
Bill nodded. "I guess I was so spooked by it, I couldn't think straight. I should've told you from the start."
"It's alright, Bill," Will reassured. "Now that you put it that way, I understand why you would keep this a secret."
Bill sighed heavily. "It's so weird...it's like the universe wants to put a wedge between us."
Will looked down at his feet, a thoughtful expression traced his face. "Do you recognize the voice, by any chance?"
The blond creased his brow. "I...I don't know, actually. I never heard that voice in my life...yet I also found it familiar. Does that make sense?"
Will didn't think it did, but he didn't want to confuse his brother any further. "We'll talk about this more in the morning, is that alright?"
Bill looked reluctant, but his exhaustion must have overpowered him, because he nodded in agreement. "Fine..."
The two laid in their beds. There was a pause, before Will asked. "We are gonna tell our friends about the letter...right?"
"Yeah, yeah..." Bill yawned, which filled Will with doubt.
Deciding to leave that worry for tomorrow, Will turned off the light. However, while the blond slept, Will continued to stare at the ceiling. Even though Bill acted like he was fine, Will feared for his brother's health...even his sanity. The blond was suddenly hearing voices from no one, there was little to be done about the situation...unless Will decided to take action now.
Quietly, he slipped off his bed, and picked up his phone from the bedside table. Will opened his contacts, and he silently hoped he wasn't making a mistake. He dialed the number.
He pressed it to his ear, hearing the faint beeping, before a voice answered.
"Hello?"
"Hey," Will said, forcing a cheery tone. "I want to meet up with you. Sorry, it's late...I just have a lot of things to say right now."
❇❇❇
The moon beamed overhead, and Will stood against the building that he was supposed to meet up with the caller. He clutched at his sweater, shivering in the cold.
"It's been so long, Will."
Will turned around. He saw soft white hair shining in the moonlight, and a pair of gentle blue eyes. It was like Gideon had reverted back to his old self, when Will had still considered him a friend.
Gideon smiled widely, approaching the boy. "You don't know how much I wanted to talk to you."
The white haired boy sounded happy by Will's arrival, and that made Will upset somehow. Maybe it was because, he couldn't tell if Gideon was genuinely happy to see him or if he was just faking it.
"Hey, Gideon," Will said, his voice jittery from the cold.
Gideon regarded him worryingly. "Are you only wearing that sweater? You might get a cold."
Will didn't reply, and his gaze darted to his feet. He looked up again, when he felt something drape over his shoulders. He realized, Gideon had removed his peacock patterned cape, so he could cover Will with it.
Will frowned. "You don't have to--"
"I insist," Gideon said, then removed his hands from the other's shoulders. "So, why did you tell me to come here?"
Will hesitated. Suspicious, he peered over the other boy's shoulder, and looked around.
"They're not here."
The blue haired boy looked Gideon in the eyes. "Are you sure?"
Gideon nodded. "They wouldn't have bothered to follow me, they're too busy arguing over stupid things."
Will furrowed his brow. "By any chance, did either of your...friends get into Bill's head by any chance?"
Gideon regarded him in confusion. "No, I don't think so."
Will tried to check his expression for any signs of deceit. So far, either Gideon was a great liar or he really was confused.
"OK, I guess that's a relief," Will said, choosing to believe Gideon for now.
"Why are you so worried about Bill, anyway?"
Will gave him a hard look. "Because, he's brother!" He snapped. "What about you, why do you trust monsters like Kill and Jill?"
Gideon huffed. "I don't particularly trust them. But, I'll do anything to prevent the destruction Bill will cause."
"How blind are you?" Will remarked. "Kill and Jill want that destruction to happen! They tried to kill me a dozen times! They're using you!"
Gideon stared, then shook his head. "No...that can't be right."
Will narrowed his eyes. "They're the ones that destroyed the home of the Guardians, and they're trying to return Bill to his original state."
"How do you know this?"
"Because those two are our siblings," He responded.
Gideon looked dumbstruck by the reveal, and seemed to slowly process this. Hesitantly, Will stepped closer to him, adopting a gentler tone.
"Please, it's not too late for you," Will pleaded. "I know you only want to help, but this isn't the way. Please...I want my friend back."
Gideon's eyes misted, then he shook his head, making a stern expression. "I...I don't believe you."
Will stared at him, then felt a surge of anger. "I'm telling the truth! Why won't you believe me--"
"I believe in my predictions!" Gideon shouted, then choked out in a desperate tone. "Why can't you understand that? I saw my town being ripped to shreds, I saw people dying in the streets, and it was all Bill's doing! If I do nothing, after seeing all of that, what kind of person would I be?"
Will looked at him. Even though he didn't understand Gideon's motives, he sympathized with him. If there was a possibility that Bill would turn evil, Will would've done everything he could to change the future...but not like this.
"You don't have to kill, to be a hero," Will told him. "I ask you again, please don't go down this path."
Gideon shook his head. "I'm sorry, I don't know what else to do."
The blue haired boy heaved a deep breath. Nonchalantly, Will took off Gideon's cape, and handed it back to the other boy. He then started to walk away.
"You had your chance," Will told him, looking over his shoulder at Gideon. "Just remember, from now on, Bill isn't the only Cipher you should be afraid of."
"Which Cipher is that, exactly?" Gideon asked. "Kill? Jill?"
Will glared at him. "Come near my brother again, and you'll find out."
He didn't wait for Gideon's response, and turned away. As he grew distance away from the building, he sighed.
Gideon, you are so similar to Mason, but at same time you're the opposite, Will thought. You put yourself in harm's way for others, but you also cause more harm than good. You're so selfless...yet so selfish.
Will hugged his arms around himself, as he trudged through the cold air. For once, he didn't feel afraid of the dark...he felt at peace.

It does, however, contain several ties between the stories. Average post between 1000 - 3000 words.
