《Zero Falls: Season One》Cipher's Reign-Part Three

Fun story. When I went to edit this chapter, it didn't show the rest of my work, and I thought Wattpad deleted it. However, the problem fixed itself and the rest of the chapters returned. I really hate Wattpad sometimes, ;-;
The three were still traveling down the hall. They were growing doubtful that they would find anything, but finally, they came across a single door. Bill examined it. It had several locks on it, and he grimaced.
"I got it," Mabel said, noticing his frown.
Bill watched as she removed a clip from her hair, before approaching the door. She fitted her clip inside a lock, wiggling it around until there was a satisfying click. She did the same thing with the other locks, before the door opened agape.
Bill stared. "Where did you learn that, Falling Star?"
"My uncle, he's such a good role model, especially when it comes to breaking into private property," She grinned, returning her clip to her hair.
"You two check inside," Dipper said. "I'll keep watch here, in case Kill comes back."
They obliged, and both of them stepped inside. They were immediately covered in darkness, with a beam of light shining through the open door. Bill scanned the area, he could barely see in the corners. He felt crestfallen, when he didn't see anything. He tried to remain calm. This was only the first room they found, Will could be somewhere else. But, how long would they have to keep searching? Did they even have time before they're tracked down by Kill or Gideon?
"Bill?" Mabel spoke, noticing his distress.
Bill didn't hear her, thoughts invaded his mind, bringing forth a painful amount of questions. Will they be able to find his brother? What if Will wasn't here? Did they break into this facility for nothing? And now, the most dreaded question of all, something Bill tried to avoid:
Was Will even alive?
If there was a possibility that his brother was dead, Bill didn't know what he'd do. The very thought sent ice through his veins, and made him close to tears. As he panicked inwardly, Bill's body suddenly went hot...
"Bill!" Falling Star exclaimed, taken aback by something.
It was then that Bill noticed a blue glow. A moment later, he was dumbstruck to realize, that the glow came from his palm. Bill stared down, at the small swirl of blue fire emitting from his hand.
His powers.
"What is that?" Mabel gasped, gawking at the open flame. "It looks cool!"
Bill didn't answer her, too engrossed in his own shock. All of a sudden, the flame increased in size. Mabel squeaked surprise, and all Bill could do was stare. However, as his flame filled the room with an eerie azure glow, it then revealed a form in the deep corner of the room. Bill's eyes widened when he saw familiar blue hair, and his fire died immediately.

There laid Will on the floor. He was on his side, with his eyes closed. His hair was messed up, and covered in grime. His skin was several shades paler than when Bill last saw him, and dark rings surrounded his eyes His sweater was nearly torn into shreds, revealing blooded flesh underneath. Despite all of this, Will's chest rose and fell with steady breaths. He was alive.
Bill forgot about everything at that point. His powers finally arriving. Kill. All of that didn't matter now, as he knelt before his brother. Bill reached out a trembling hand, and gently shook Will's shoulder. Thankfully, Will peeled his eyes open, but only half way.
"Will, what did they do to you?" Bill breathed, in horror.
Will didn't answer, his gaze was unfocused, like he wasn't sure what was happening. He closed his, eyes once more, as though tired.
Bill felt a flare of anger. If they survived this, he was going to split Kill and Jill into atoms. He had to calm down, when he noticed the blue flames beginning to raise on his hands. After a couple of deep breaths, the fire went down. The blond was still shocked that he finally regained his powers, but he decided to push it aside until later, once they're out of this mess.
"Falling Star, help me out here," Bill said, putting an arm around Will.
Mabel didn't need to be told twice, and she quickly moved forward. She helped Bill carry Will's weight, and together they gently lifted him off the floor. They then carried him out of the room, where Dipper was waiting for them.
The boy in the red jacket, could only stare at the state Will was in. "Oh my god, is he going to be okay...?"
Bill didn't respond. Honestly, he didn't have an answer, as he was unsure himself.
"We'll carry him to the exit," Bill started, choosing to push his worries aside. "Once we're there, you two take Will far away from here."
"Wait, you're not coming with us?" Mabel questioned.
"I have unfinished business here," Bill replied.
Dipper said that the others, such as Stan and Wendy, were trapped here too. Bill still had to find them. Also, he wanted to help Dipper. And with his fire powers, maybe assisting the Guardian would be easy...though he wasn't fully confident in using those abilities, but he had to try.
"Let's go," Bill told them.
While Will leaned on them for support, Bill and Mabel walked down the hall, with Dipper following. As they hurried through the dimly lit hallway, Will's breathing began to quicken. Bill was afraid that his life was dampening, but then he noticed something. Through the tears in his sweater, Will's gashes were slowly decreasing in size.

He's healing himself, Bill thought, in relief.
However, his relief was cut short, when they met a familiar at the end of the hallway. They stopped dead in their tracks, when they saw Kill standing there menacingly, his head reattached. Despite what happened earlier, when Kill turned to look at Red Pine, he was beaming happily.
"You gotten stronger since I last met you," He chuckled. "I always missed these kinds of playful fights we get into. Remember when you ripped out my organs? That was so cute."
"Yep, he's still weird as ever," Red Pine sighed, to himself.
Bill glared at Kill, pulling Will closer protectively. "Move, you psychotic raspberry."
Kill released a crazed laugh. "Sorry, my dear brother...not when that weakling is still breathing." Then, out of nowhere, he charged straight at them.
Bill didn't have time to plan, instead relying on pure instinct. The blond released Will, letting Falling Star support him on her own, and ran up to the Red Demon. Ignoring the screams of protest behind him, Bill extended his arms, and heat immediately surged as his anger grew. Twin columns of blue fire, then encased Kill. The Demon screamed in agony, before leaping back, his shirt and jacket on fire. Meanwhile, the flames emitting out of Bill immediately extinguished, and he stepped back.
Needles of pain rippled throughout his body, and he looked in horror at his arms. They were covered in blisters and burn marks, excreting tendrils smoke. Bill's nose crinkled at the stench of burned flesh, and he could barely move his arms. Was it supposed to hurt this much?
"Bill!" Dipper yelled, in distress.
Bill was about to turn to the Oak twins, when he heard a low growl from Kill. The Red Demon had torn off his damaged jacket and shirt, leaving him shirtless. Bill's eyes widened, when he saw an imprint of a Dreamcatcher scarred in the center of Kill's chest, the same Dreamcatcher that Will used to fight the Red Demon.
Kill followed the blond's gaze, and laughed bitterly. "Will's blood can only heal so much, but not this, unfortunately," He said, giving Bill a dark look. "Yet again, every time I look at this humiliating scar, I feel more angry...stronger even. I should thank Will, by making his death slow and glorious."
Red Pine didn't waste a second more, before charging and colliding himself with Kill. The impact sent the Demon crashing into a wall, and Dipper whirled towards the blond and his sister.
"Run! I'll hold him off!"
Mabel blinked. "But--"
"RUN!" Dipper shouted.
After a second of hesitation, Mabel obeyed. She called towards Bill to follow her, and he did, though his actions were slowly than before. After they left, Red Pine felt a sense of relief, until a weight collided against his back. Dipper collapsed onto his stomach, with a weight on top of him. He tried to squirm out, but a pair of tanned arms lunged out and grabbed his wrists, before pinning them over his head. Red Pine turned around, and glared up at Kill's grinning face.
"I like this sight of you," Kill purred.
Red Pine flushed, and tried to escape, but the Demon held him down. His mark and eyes glowed red. "Kill, you're going to regret this."
"Ooh, ready for round two?" The Demon smiled. "You think you can beat me this time, little warrior?"
Red Pine smirked. "Wanna bet?"
❇❇❇
Gideon opened his eyes.
He didn't remember anything that happened. Except for...
"Oh no," He breathed, to himself.
Realizing he was on the floor, Gideon quickly stood up. At that moment, he saw a cage nearby, but it was empty.
The Guardians! Where are the Guardians!?
His heart hammered inside his chest, what happened next didn't soothe his nerves. As another person entered the room, and it was none other than the Guardian of the Mind.
They stared at each for a solid minute, before all hell broke loose.
The Guardian's face morphed into one of pure rage, then he surged forward. Before Gideon could comprehend what was happening, he was grabbed by his shirt collar, and pinned against the bars of the cage. He was thankful that the bars weren't electric, but he was pretty sure he was going to die at the hands of the powerful being.
The Guardian's eyes were vivid, and he hissed through his teeth. "What have you done?"
Gideon couldn't respond, since the collar was tightening around his throat. His vision began to grow blurry, but he noticed a pair of golden eyes searing from behind the Guardian's head.
"Look..." He tried to choke out.
"What?" The brunette demanded.
"Look...behind you."
The Guardian's eyes widened, but he didn't act fast enough, as a flash of light sent them both slamming into the bars. They sank to the ground, and stared up at the attacker.
"Mayor Soos!?" The brunette gasped, when seeing the once humble mayor glare down at them.
Soos's eyes pulsed with gold. "Nope."
The Guardian stared in realization. "Jill..."
Jill smirked, then lifted a hand, lighting a golden flame.

Saga of Fallen Kings, Book I: The Revenant Prince
The Philosopher King once conquered the known world, his power seemingly unlimited and his armies inexhaustible. Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have.
