"Look, she's over there!"
A man looked over only to see a young girl beaten and bloodied and on the ground with her knees up to her chest, maybe around nine or ten years old. She was shaking and mumbling slightly incoherent words under her breath.
"They're coming... they're coming..." The man looked at her with a worried face.
" Hey kid, you okay over there?" She didn't respond.
" Kid-," " WHAT!?"
He took a few steps back, not ready for the sudden outburst.
" what happened here?" He asked again, a little concerned.
She only looked down.
" what happened," he asked, but quieter.
She responded by pushing past him, and he didn't press any further.
The girl walked for a little while into a forest and stopped by her favorite lake. She sighed and took a knife out of her pocket, looking at its sterling color reflect the moonlight.
She ran her finger across it, wincing and her cut. She held the knife in front of her face, looking at the name engraved on it.
This is for you, she thought. She then brought it up to her wrist, slightly pushing down. It drew a little blood, not fatal, and she squirted her eyes closed from the sting.
"It's Now or never," she mumbled.
She pressed down farther, down multiple layers of skin, tears pricking her eyes.
It then got down to her vein.
