《Alpha Lucious》Chapter 28 A DAY AWAY.

The whole pack village were busy making preparations for the annual Moon Ball. Everywhere was packed with people from different packs , laughing and talking to each other. More and more warriors surrounded the pack village as dozen of werewolves entered through the gate with each passing minute.
Everything was set in place for the grand event tomorrow night.
The Alpha had been so busy lately. He hardly had time for himself. Even the beta's hardly with his mate, he was busy running up and down , trying to make sure everything's going well.
Alena was bored at home, she really missed her mate. Besides , Raphael had stopped her from going out of the pack house, saying he doesn't want her putting herself in any risk at this stage of her pregnancy.
She looked at her huge belly, she would be due a few days or so — She felt excited and scared at the same time. She couldn't believe she would become a mother soon.
Alena chewed on her nuts as she sat on Haven's bed. She spent most of her time either watching TV or talking non- stop to the girl before her. It felt great to have someone to talk to, apart from your annoying mate.
Her wolf whined, she did miss her mate though.
" I miss Raph " She whined laying back on the bed. " The house feels so empty without him." Alena closed her eyes.
Haven shook her head, she knew the long complain that would follow after that statement. Alena had been filling her ears with how she missed her mate so much, Haven sometimes wished she could just tell her to shut up.
Haven sighed, she knew it wasn't right to think like that but, she was tired of sitting in here all day. She wished there was a way she could leave here.

She wrote on her book and tapped Alena gently, making her open her eyes.
" What is it ?" Alena asked collecting the book Haven passed to her.
" Where is your mate?" Haven had asked.
" Oh he's busy preparing for the Moon Ball. It's just tomorrow night " Alena smiled softly as she remembered the last Moon Ball.
" Raphael and I had first met in the last Moon ball actually" Her face beamed with joy. Alena wasn't always from the Blood Moon Pack. She had come from another park down the east.
Alena had always longed for her mate since childhood. But, she never got one — even after she clocked eighteen. A year after, she still didn't find her mate, Alena became depressed and lost all hope of finding ever finding a mate.
Her mother came to her room one day and urged her to attend the upcoming Moon Ball. Alena declined saying it was of no use but her mother forced her to, and she was glad she did.
" Hey Haven! " Alena called as she sat up " Have you ever been to the Moon Ball?" She asked. Haven shook her head. She was always left at home because she hadn't come of age yet.
Her mother had promised to take her this year as the Moon Ball happened to fall exactly on her birthday. Haven sadly smiled at this. She missed her parents badly.
" Wait what?!! You've never attended the Moon Ball?" Alena asked incredously looking at Haven who shrugged her shoulders instead.
'Well at this age, she should have at least attended it once or twice. Except..' Alena eyes widen a little.
" Wait!! How old are you??!" She suddenly asked passing the note for Haven to write on. Haven scribbled some words then passed it back to her.

" I'm seventeen, I'll be clocking eighteen on the night of the Moon Ball." Alena's expression was that of shock first before it slowly morphed into one of joy.
"Oh Selene!!" She squealed happily. "You're finally turning eighteen !!" . Alena had always wondered. If truly the rogue was the Alpha's fated mate, then how come none of them knew about it.
Now everything fit into place; The Alpha was already a grown man and he's got his wolf. Though Lucious doesn't know it yet, his wolf could sense some sort of attachment to the rogue — that's why he's been obsessing unknowingly obsessing over her lately. Haven is oblivious to this as she was still not of age.
Alena grinned. The Moon Ball was just a day away. So finally after tomorrow, the two of them will find out and everything will be fine. Alena had really overestimated Haven just by her looks. The rogue had a goddess-like-body. Her body was fully loaded — with all the curves in the right places.
Frankly speaking, of all the were-femmes Alicia knew, Haven had the greatest body of them all — even more than Natasha who was considered a beauty.
" Haven?" Alena called out " Why don't we sneak out go see the Moon Ball tomorrow?" Alena's eyes shone with mischief.
" Alena, you know Raphael said not to step out of the house " Alena's wolf reminded her.
Alena rolled her eyes. " He only said not to step out of the pack house, besides the Moon Ball is happening in the hall downstairs, so his warning does not apply" She said righteously.
Haven felt a little excited hearing what Alena had suggested. She had always dreamt of going to the Moon Ball. That was every young were–girl's dream. The possibility of finding one's mate there was very high.
Haven had always thought she and Tristan would go. He would ask her to be his date, they would eat dance, hold hands and even kiss if possible. Then by midnight when the clock struck twelve, she'll finally be a full grown femme– she'll get her own wolf and Tristan will finally see her as his mate. Then they would go home, mate and finally, they would be inseperable....
That was what kept Haven going all this time. The thought of being with her one true love, Tristan. But now, Tristan had broken her completely.
Now Haven didn't even want a mate anymore. She was happy the way she is, she doesn't need anyone.
" Haven ?" Alena's soft voice pulled her out of her thoughts " Are you okay?" She asked. Haven nodded her head slightly making Alena smile.
" Okay then! It's settled, we're going to the Moon Ball!!!!" Alena squealed happily.

Artemis
"Let them go, Dante." I whip my head to see a small boy standing the clearing with blonde hair and a green cloak hanging from shoulders. He isn't very tall however he holds his stance well. He doesn't seem to be more than Cassandra's age. Maybe 12 at most. I abruptly turn my head back hearing the man holding a sword to my throat chuckling with a sinister grin. "Oh, poor boy, what are you go to do about it?" The yellow teeth gleam as he begins stalking towards the boy who does not look the least bit fazed. I look around at the other men who are following the leader. I pull Cassandra tighter to my back as I take small steps back. I keep my eye trained on the men but also fear for the naive boy. "Do you really want to test me Dante?" He asks raising a single eyebrow. For a minute the men stop their movements. I see their hesitation for fear... Fear of what? I take the moment to stick Cassandra behind a nearby tree. She crouches down while I pull my sword out from its place. "How do you know my name?" The scoundrel raises his sword challenging towards the boy before taking a final step towards him. Then the unexpected happens. The young boy chuckles so darkly. It sounded almost... demonic. All the men instinctively raise their swords. "Oh Dante, I didn't know your name... but you know someone dear to me." "Spit it out boy!" The once grinning man is now looking around frantically. I continue my eyes scanning the small boy. He looks directly me and gives me a small nod before saying one word that caused all hell to breaks loose. "Artemis." Artemis is not an ordinary girl.
