《Return • Todoroki ff》Chapter 3

"Right on time Niko. Let's go." Reo said as he walked out of the main door with his daughter following closely behind him.
The car ride was silent until Reo began to speak.
"Niko." He said catching the attention of the girl who was looking outside the window.
"Some retired pro heros will be at the banquet as well as the new ones." Niko nodded her head at that sentence and went back to staring outside the window.
Reo said nothing about his daughter's reaction and returned his attention to the road. The car was once again engulfed in silence.
Reo parked the car in a parking lot that was nearest to the venue. As soon as the car was parked Reo got off the car and Niko followed his actions. The father and daughter walked towards to the venue and was blinded by the bright light of the large chandelier that was hanging from the ceiling.
Even though I was in charge of the Hitori Inc. back in Korea I didn't appear at public events as often because I wanted to avoid the public eye but I guess I forgot how it was like to be at a public event.
As my father and I walked past the business owners they started whispering.
"Who's that?"
"I don't think I know her."
"How do you not know her she is Niko Hitori, the second daughter of Reo Hitori and the person who made Hitori Inc. skyrocket through the charts."
I hated it when people whispered about me. I found it annoying.
"Niko-chan?" A familiar voice called out as I turned around to see one of my best friends from UA, Mina Ashido.
"Mina-chan?" Before I could say anything she ran over and gave me a hug that almost suffocated me if I didn't ask her to release me.
"What are you doing here Mina-chan?"
"I came here as a pro hero of course." She says as she smiled dragging me up the stairs to the second floor to where the balcony was.
"So Niko-chan how have you been? We haven't seen you in forever."
"I am fine, so who's here?" Mina thought about it for awhile before she gave me her reply.

"The people who were in Class 1A are all here."
"Even Todoroki-kun?" I was hoping that she was going to shake her head to singal no but instead she nodded her head.
"Oh.. It's nice talking to you but I think my father must be looking for me." I said as I waved goodbye and made my way back to where my father was.
"Niko where did you go?" My father questioned when he noticed my presence beside him.
"I met one of my old classmates." He gave a nod as a reply.
"You can go off and socialize I'll look for you when we have to go." I nodded and walked off hoping that I wouldn't see Todoroki.
As I was walking I saw a man who had flames surrounding him I immediately recognized him as the man who forced me to end my first relationship, Enji Todoroki also known as Endeavour.
I walked away hoping that no one will spot me but I guess I didn't have luck on my side.
"Niko is that you?" Another familiar voice called out I closed my eyes and prayed as I turned around that it wouldn't be the person I thought it was.
As I opened my eyes I saw the familiar red and white locks of hair. His heterochromia eyes stared back at my brown ones for awhile I was lost in them until I felt someone grab my hand.
I snapped out of my thoughts as I looked up he was a little taller and his facial features were more defined from the last time I saw him.
"Niko.." He said as he held onto my hand tightly perhaps in fear that I might leave.
"Todoroki-kun." I replied hoping that I didn't show how much I missed his touch and how much I missed him in general.
I was standing beside my old man when I saw someone who had the same features as her. I immediately walked towards her calling out to her. When she turned around I saw her long brown hair and brown eyes. The ones that I have been longing to see since the breakup.
Her hands were much more boney than the past and I wondered if she ate at all. I walked towards her almost immediately and took her hand in mine.

"Niko.."
"Todoroki-kun." I flinched a little when she called me by my last name and not my given one.
I didn't say anything as I dragged her somewhere where nobody wouldn't notice.
His grip on my hand did not loosen until we were at the balcony where Mina and I were earlier that night.
When we reached the balcony he let go of my hand and engulfed me in a hug without warning. At first I wasn't used to the feeling of having two different temperatures on both sides of my body but I slowly relaxed to the hug as I hugged him back.
After awhile he pulled away.
"Niko.. I missed you so much."
"I-" For some reason I just couldn't tell him that I didn't miss him at all. Perhaps it was because I really did miss him even though I was far away from him or maybe it was because I didn't want to lie to him and hurt him even more.
"Me too.." I whispered barely audible.
He opened his mouth to say something but as soon as he was going to speak a thundering voice interrupted us.
"Shoto. What are you doing with her." The both of us turned around to meet Endeavour.
"It's none of your business." Shoto replied as he pushed me behind him.
"Huh. Why are you scared that I will hurt her." Endeavour asked when he saw what his son did.
"Who knows you might." I placed my arm on his shoulder telling him it's fine.
I stepped out from behind Shoto as I spoke, "It's been forever since I saw you Endeavour."
"Yes indeed Miss Hitori. The last I saw you was when I convinced you to leave my son and look he became the number 1 hero now what did I say about you holding him back." He said.
Shoto's brows furrowed when he heard what his father said he knew his father wanted him to be the number 1 hero at all cost but he didn't know that he was the mastermind behind his heartbreak.
"Leave." Shoto said trying to stop himself from screaming infront of Niko.
Endeavour saw that he had already made Shoto agitated and took that as a sign for his departure not wanting an argument with his son tonight.
"Todoroki calm down.." Niko said as she turned her attention back to him.
"Niko how can I calm down! That man was the reason why we broke up!" Shoto shouted no longer able to control the rage he felt.
Niko flinched when Todoroki suddenly raised his voice, throughout their relationship he almost never raised his voice at her because he claimed that if he were to do he would be no different from his father.
After he realised what he had done he grabbed Niko's hand and placed it to his cheeks.
"I am sorry Niko.. I am sorry I shouted at you.. Sorry that I didn't fight for our relationship." Shoto said tears forming in his eyes threatening to fall.
Niko shook her head as a reply to say that it was fine.
"Todoroki you don't have to say sorry it's not your fault.."
Shoto shook his head before saying, "No it's all my fault if only I had rebelled against him we wouldn't have to go through this." I felt heartbroken that he was saying all this.
It was partly my fault for agreeing with what his father had said when he convinced me to breakup with his son.
It wasn't long before his tears fell from his eyes and I used my free hand to wipe them away.
"Listen Todoroki it's not your fault. Don't blame yourself." I said as I looked into his eyes.
"Niko where are you?"
"My father is looking for me. I have to go." As I turned to leave I was stopped.
"Niko, please return to me.." His voice trembled as he held onto my hand tightly.
"Please just give me one month to let you fall in love with me again. If you don't I promise I won't bother you anymore." I nod my head in reply as I told him was the same as before.
As I turned to walk towards my father I heard him say, "Niko wait for me.."
I smiled as I walked to where my father was.
"I am looking forward to see how you are going to let me fall harder for you Shoto." I whispered.
