《His Proposal》His Proposal - 22

After Chloe signed the papers I watch her walk out of my office and down the stairs. She shakes hands with the new bar manager and she looks at the camera.
She knows that I'm keeping an eye on things from my office.
I watch as a guy slips his number to her. She puts the money in the till and leaves the phone number on the counter. She serves another customer and this time I see a wrapper on the money.
I'm going to kill that guy. He shouldn't be giving her stuff like that.
Pushing out of my seat I run down the stairs to make sure that guy doesn't leave a condom with my employee.
Chloe steps in the way. "Jai, let it go."
Shaking my head, I say. "That guy needs to learn a lesson."
"Not, tonight." She whispers. "Go to your office. I'm fine here. You don't need to go all caveman."
I'm not acting like a caveman.
Looking at the stairs. "I'm not going back to the office. I'm going to help you serve the customers and get you back to the hospital."
She walks behind the bar and serves more customers. When the group leaves I move over to her. "You can go on your break. Call your sister and see how she's doing?"
She hugs me. "Thanks, Jai." She pulls her phone out and walks into the staffroom. She closes the door.
At the bar, I serve customers until Chloe returns from making the phone call.
Kye walks over. He stands next to me. "Why are you going easy on the girl? She's not going to learn if you keep protecting her."
Looking at him. "I need to protect her. There are things about her that you don't know. She makes me want to protect her. She's revealed some things to me that shouldn't be passed around."

He crosses his arms. "I hope you don't regret this. Do you remember the last co-worker you got involved with?"
Of course, I do.
She tried to take me for millions. What she didn't know was that I had files upon files about the type of person she was. I don't trust people, but when it comes to Chloe it's a different story. She wanted to protect her loved ones. That's something I can't fault in her.
Chloe exits the room with a smile on her face. She walks over to me. "Aleysa's allowed to leave the hospital tomorrow and she wants to go to a garden. She asked me if I could invite you." she pauses for a second. "Would you like to come with us?"
I smile. "Sure, what about your brother?"
She looks at her phone. "I think he'd prefer to go to school. I should call him though and give him a choice. Do you mind if I make a phone call?"
"Go ahead."
She walks back into the staffroom.
"Hey," A guy yells. "Can I get a drink? I've been waiting here for five minutes while you talked to that bitch."
Walking over to the bar I wrap my fist in the guy's shirt. I pull him towards me. "Never call her that." I push him away and he lands on the ground.
He looks at me. "I want to talk to the manager."
Chloe exits the room and she looks at me. Then to the guy. "What's going on here?"
The guy on the ground looks at her. "He's crazy. I called you a bitch and he attacked me."
Chloe walks away from me and she stands next to the guy. She looks him over. "You look fine. There's no evidence that he touched you. Now, get the hell out of the bar." She whistles and waves the security guys over. "Get this piece of shit out of my sight?"

I like it when she's in charge.
She climbs onto the barstool across from me. "Go to your office and calm down. I'll be up there soon with a drink." She leans across the bar and kisses my cheek. She steps off the stool and she gets swallowed up by the crowd.
I better head to my office.
Walking through the crowd I head towards my office. A few girls watch me as I climb the stairs and make my way to the office. I open the door and step into the room. I look at the security camera for Chloe and I don't see her anywhere.
Where is she?
I shut off the cameras and lean my head against the seat. I hear the door open.
A voice I don't recognise says. "Hey, sweetheart. What are you doing up here alone?"
Spinning my chair around I face the woman and she holding a drink in her hand. She takes a step toward me.
Rising I face the woman and say. "You need to leave. I have a girlfriend and she doesn't need to see you in here."
"Don't lie to me." the girls says.
Chloe enters the room and she stops at the door. "What's going on here?"
Pushing the woman out of my way. "Nothing, I was asking her to leave." I quickly add. "She snuck in here." I look into her beautiful blue eyes and say. "Do you believe me?"
Chloe puts the glass in my hand. "I believe you, but why didn't you lock the door?"
I sigh. "I didn't want you to use your keys. It looks like I'm going to have to keep it locked from now on." I whisper in her ear. "Can you help me get rid of the girl?"
Chloe grabs the girls arm. "You should leave. This room is off-limits. Only the boss and his girlfriend can come in here. There's plenty of guys downstairs for you." she leads the girl to the door. "Have a good night." She slams the door in the girls face. She turns to me. "Sit,"
I sit in my chair and Chloe walks over to me. She massages my shoulders.
It feels so good.
I feel myself stiffen and she continues to massage me. I tip my head back and I look into her beautiful eyes. "You're good at that."
She smirks. "Of course I am. There's been plenty of guys that needed it."
Narrowing my eyes at her, I say. "You have got to be kidding?"
She laughs. "Yes, I am. I like it when you get jealous. Since we're doing the whole fake dating thing we should know about each other's past."
Clearing my throat. "Don't ask me how many girls I've slept with. I won't be able to tell you as I lost count of them over the years. I get regular check-ups if that helps and my last physical is this week. Do you want to come with me?"
She shakes her head. "I don't want to impose."
Taking her hand. "You won't be imposing. It would mean a lot if you were with me. What if this thing between us becomes real?"
She walks over to the chair across from my desk and sits. "I will go with you on one condition." I nod and she continues. "That you don't tell everyone I'm your girlfriend. At the moment I can't deal with everything that's happening."
I'll give her time.
"Done," I look at the clock and see that it's time for her to leave. "Get your stuff I'm taking you to the hospital."
