《His Proposal》His Proposal - 81

The next morning, I woke up in Jai's arms in our old bedroom. I look around the room as the sun shines through the window.
There's a noise outside the bedroom door and I climb out of bed. I put on the dress I was wearing last night and open the door.
A guy is sleeping against the door and I step over him. He's got eyeliner on his face.
Nate's bedroom door opens and Teresa steps out of the room. She smooths her hair down with her hand. She looks at me. "Hi, Chloe."
"Morning, do you want to stay for breakfast?"
She smiles. "Yeah, I would love to. Nate's still asleep. I will help you make breakfast."
"That would be great." I walk down the stairs with Teresa and we make bacon and eggs for everyone that's still in the house. I pick up a pot and wooden spoon and start banging them together.
While Teresa yells. "Breakfast,"
People start groaning, as they walk into the kitchen and sit at the table.
Nate walks into the room with his boxers on. He rubs his eyes. "Did you have to wake us up this early?"
"Yes," I look at him. "We need to go home after breakfast."
Nate nods. "Alright, are we going to show Aleysa my graduation video?"
"Yes, we are. She's going to love it." I look at Teresa. "You should come back to our place. I'm sure Aleysa would love to meet you."
Jai walks into the kitchen in a pair of jeans. He ruffles his hair and looks at me. "Morning, baby."
Walking over to him I wrap my arms around his bare body. I go up on my tippy toes and whisper. "Put a shirt on. I don't want all these people to see all that."
He laughs. "You're jealous of teenage girls?"
I shake my head. "I don't want people to see what's mine. Would you like it if I walked around in my bikini?"
He shakes his head. "I'm not going to allow guys to see you like that."
Crossing my arms I smile. "Good, now put a shirt on."
Jai runs up the stairs.
During breakfast, my phone goes off.

"Aleysa's asking for us. We should leave now."
Jai rises. "I'll clean this place later. We should leave now."
Teresa follows us out the door and she climbs into the car with Nate.
They look cute together.
I hold Jai's hand as he drives through the streets of LA. When we get to the bar we climb out of the car and walk into the house.
Nate looks at me and tears begin to fall down his face.
He knows today is the day that our sister is going to die. I have the same feeling.
I put my arms around him and we walk into the bedroom.
Aleysa opens her eyes slightly. She tries to smile, but it doesn't show at all. "Hey," she looks at Teresa. "Who is that?"
Nate wraps his arms around her waist. "This is Teresa. I used to tell you a lot about the girl that I saved my freshman year."
I look at him. "The girl you kept at a distance?"
He nods.
"Good for you brother. I can leave knowing that you have someone too." She looks at Teresa and Jai. "Can I speak to them alone?"
I walk out of the room with Nate.
He shuts the door behind us. "What do you think they're talking about in there?"
"We can listen to them. I put a baby monitor in that room so I could hear Aleysa during the night." We walk to my room and I turn on the monitor.
"Chloe and Nate are going to need you when I go. They might push you away and try to deal with things on their own, but that's not going to work for them. My brother and sister love family. Family is what keeps the Knight Family whole. Our Aunt and cousin may have shown up in our lives, but they don't mean as much as the three of us. They are about to be two Knight's from three." She takes a breath. "They are going to need you, make them smile too. I don't want them to grieve too much over me. They did everything they needed to while I was alive. It's time for them to live and me to move on. I love Nate and Chloe with my whole heart."

A smile spreads across my face.
I love her too. It feels like I'm going to lose a small piece of myself when she's gone.
Gerald walks into the room. "What are you doing?"
Putting my finger to my lips I whisper. "We're listening to Aleysa."
She remains quiet for a bit. "Can you get them for me? I want to see the graduation video."
Gerald, Nate and I make our way to the room.
Veronica and Ricky are standing next to the door when we walk over.
The door opens and Jai looks at us. "Aleysa wants to see the video." We step inside the room.
Everyone in the room finds somewhere to sit. I am wrapped in Jai's arms, as I press play.
The graduation video starts and we remain quiet while we watch it.
Jai kisses my head. "I love you, Chloe."
I smile. "I love you, too, Jai."
The video stops playing. "Congrats, big brother. I am happy you graduated. You have a bright future ahead of you. You will do great things with your life. I wish that I got to have the opportunities that Chloe and you have, but I was dealt a shitty hand." She looks around the room. "I want to talk to Chloe alone. Before you all leave the room I'm going to beg you take my brother and sister someplace fun. I don't want them to see me..."
Running over to her, I say. "I'm not going anywhere."
She looks at me. "Please, can you do me this one thing? Leave for a couple of hours and then return?"
I don't want to leave her. It will hurt if I'm not here when she takes her last breath.
"No," I shake my head. "Don't make me."
Her cold hand touches my arm. "Chloe, please?"
Jai touches my other hand and he looks at her. "She will leave with us." He moves closer to her and kisses her forehead. "Goodbye, Aleysa. I love you. You have been a great addition to the family. I will miss you."
I listen as everyone says their last goodbye to my sister until it's just her and I in the room.
Aleysa looks at me. "Chloe, " she whispers.
"Aleysa,"
She places her head on my shoulder. "I don't want to leave without telling you something. You're the best sister in the entire world. You took a whole heap of things on this year, starting with being a guardian for Nate and me. You brought us a whole new family, it made it easier when I was missing Mom and Dad. Veronica and Ricky were here to fill the parent role for us. Jai and you were great parental figures as well. You're going to be a great Mom when the time comes."
"Thank you, Aleysa. I was lucky that I got to spend time with you and that it ended with a proposal for me, that you helped Jai with. It meant the world to me. Your birthday will always hold a special place in my heart, especially since it was the night of the proposal." I climb off the bed and walk out the door. "Bye, Aleysa."
"Bye, Chloe." She looks at the door. "If you see a butterfly, that's me saying 'hello and I love you at the same time."
I close the door behind me.
Everyone walks out of the house and we climb into the cars that are parked in the driveway.
***
After getting into the car I don't pay attention to where we're going until the car pulls in front of Santa Monica Pier. I turn towards Veronica. "What are we doing here?"
Veronica looks out the window without making eye contact with me. "This is where Aleysa wanted her family to go. Her words to me were. Make my siblings have fun. If they don't I'm going to haunt them."
That sounds like my sister.
I head towards the Ferris wheel.
It's one of Aleysa's favourite things to do at this place.
At the wheel, we all stand in line waiting for our go.
Have you ever had a sick feeling to your stomach and you know that something is happening? Well, I have that feeling right now and I know what's going on. It's my sister she's passed away.
I shake my head. "She's gone," I say over and over. I fall to the ground and begin crying. My phone starts to ring.
She's gone and I'm never going to see her again.

Choosing His Luna (bxb)
This is a story I have published on Inkitt and I thought I'd post it on here too since I've started to update it again. 😅 I hope to continue to do so although the updates will probably be only once or twice a month. The chapters are a little shorter than what I normally post on Wattpad but I hope you enjoy them all the same.‐-----------------------------The fateful day had finally arrived, the one which I had been preparing for since birth, one which my parents had been preparing for since I'd been conceived. Well, that wasn't exactly true, my parents had been preparing, and I on the other hand had been mostly unwilling with the whole affair. See I was a werewolf, my whole family was, or pack if you will. It was tradition for all those of marriageable age to gather on the strongest werewolf pack in the world, to try and impress the next Alpha to be, the most powerful werewolf in the world. It was a major honour to be chosen by the Alpha, for the individual and their whole pack. So here I was, packing a bag for the journey and time I would be spending at the strongest pack in the world, which was called the Stentorian Pack and was located deep in the mountains surrounded by forest. My parents thought I had a chance, they'd told me what to eat, how to act, and how to look all my life, needless to say, it had gotten old pretty quick. All the lack of control I'd had over my life had boiled down to this day, it had all been for this day. I had to be the most attractive, smartest, and likeable... you get the idea, and I couldn't help but feel inadequate.

The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
