A phone starts vibrating on the nightstand and I look over at it. I turn it over and see that Leila is calling.
Jai looks over my shoulder. "You should answer that." He climbs out of bed. "I have a few things I need to take care of with Bianca. Caleb's Lawyer is going to be there too. I sent him a message yesterday telling him what has been going on and he cancelled something to help me out. That's why everything is moving so fast."
The phone keeps vibrating. I pick it up.
Through the phone, I hear. "What news, princess?"
"I'm pregnant." the line goes quiet.
I'm not going to listen in on their private conversation.
Jai walks out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his body. He looks at me. "Are you spending the day with Leila too?"
I shrug. "I told her about going shopping with Harley. I mentioned that Harley was pregnant as well and that we were going to spend the day shopping. She told me she was pregnant and then the line went quiet after she told Ace she was pregnant."
Jai leans against the wall. "I'm going to see him after the Lawyers. I don't know what time I will be home tonight." He walks over to me and kisses me. You should invite Leila back here."
"I will."
"Great!" He walks out of the bedroom.
The phone starts to vibrate again and I pick it up. There's a sniffle on the other end of the phone.
she sobs.
She hangs up the phone.
I pick up my handbag and head to the kitchen. I go through the cupboards and pull out a muesli bar.
That's good enough for me.
I put a banana and crackers in my bag as well before I walk out the door.

Jai climbs into his car. "Did Leila call you back?"
I nod. "Ace kicked her out."
"I'll talk to him." He pulls out of the driveway.
I wonder why Ace isn't happy about the news?

Leila is waiting outside the mansion when I pull the over. She puts her stuff in the backseat. She climbs into the car. "Can we go now?"
I look at the house and I see Ace standing at the window and he looks livid. His fists are clenched and so's his jaw. He shuts the blinds and that's when I pull away from the house.
Tears are running down Leila's face. She looks at me. "I lost Dad's company. He's going to be furious when I tell him." She wraps her arm around herself.
I pull over and look at her. "You don't need to tell your parents anything yet. The company is still yours. You can stay with Jai and me for however long you need to."
She wipes the tears off her face. "Thank you, Chloe."
I look at the time and curse. "I'm running late to pick up Harley." I drive to the Hilton.
When I pull in front of the hotel I see Harley and I beep the horn. She walks over to the car and looks in the driver's side window.
A smile spreads across her face. "Hey, Chloe. I'm looking forward to shopping with my old buddy from New York."
"Me too," she climbs into the car and I introduce her to my friend. "Harley this is Leila. Leila, Harley." they both glare at each other.
I can't believe they don't like each other. Maybe, it's the pregnancy hormones. Yeah, I'll go with that.
I drive to the mall.

At the mall, Harley and Leila are at each other's throats.
Harley stops in front of us. "I want to look at the baby's clothes."
Leila crosses her arms and stands firmly. "The cribs. My child is going to need something to sleep on."
Harley snorts. "You're not even showing. Why are you here with us? You're acting like a wounded..."
"Stop it," I yell. I look between them. "I have had enough of you two arguing. If it continues. I'm going to leave you BOTH here." I start moving towards a toy store. I want to get one of those wind up musical toys with different animals on it.
When my child is having a hard time sleeping all I have to do is turn it on and hope that the musical toy makes him/her fall asleep.
Leila and Harley walk behind me in silence I walk through the doors and head in the direction of where I think the toy I need is located. I go through shelves until I find it. On the box, it says 'musical mobile.'
I got the right one.
As time starts to slip away from us I noticed that Harley and Leila have warmed up to each other.
"I'm hungry," Leila whines.
"Me, too," Harley says.
"Me, three." I stand in the middle of the girls and I put my arm through there's and we walk to the food court.
A group of guys vacate a table and I walk over to it. I get there before the young couple and I place my bag on the seats.
Leila looks at me. "What are you getting?"
I look at her. "Can you get me a burger and fries, please? I will look after the table. I don't want to stand up and eat."
Leila and Harley walk over to the stores.
My phone vibrates in my back pocket and I pull it out. "Jai" flashes across the screen.
I swipe my finger across the screen and put it up to my ear.
I put the phone back into my pocket as the girls walk over to me.
Leila puts the bag in front of me.
I look at them. "Can I ask you a question?" They nod. "Why were you too at each other's throats this morning." I glare at both of them. "I don't want some b/s story either."
Leila and Harley sit across from me and they leave their food untouched as they tell me their story.
It turns out a long time ago they were best friends. When Harley slept with Leila's boyfriend it tore them apart. They hadn't seen each other until now.

Truth Behind The Glasses
"I'm just a man. I admit, I am weak to temptation." This kind of reasoning did not work well with Ashene Lei Castro. Aside from her anger, it was also her first heartbreak with her first boyfriend John Kenneth Guzman. From this day, she promised herself that no one would hurt her again. And her way of doing so is kind of peculiar - wearing thick glasses. She doesn't want another man to approach her and try to seduce her if, in the end, he will just fool around again. But there is more behind the glasses. Can the same guy who wants to try to be a part of her life again understand that? Or will he let go of her forever?
