I quickly backed away from the muscular man, but was careful not to leave the alley, should the others still be out there.
"Who are you?" I asked in my monotone voice.
"You may call me Slade" the masked man replied, taking a step forward. I stepped back again, maintaining a fair distance from him.
"What do you want?" I glanced behind him and saw nothing but bricks. "How did you get behind me?" I narrowed my eyes at the figure as I spoke. I heard him chuckle.
"I jumped of course" I could hear the amusement in his tone and it irritated me.
Calm down! Emotions are forbidden, remember? I thought.
"you jumped over me?" I said, keeping a childish hint in my voice. Again, much to my displeasure, he chuckled.
"No. I jumped down from there" he pointed upwards, to a metal fire escape that cut off on the 3rd story of the building. I rolled my violet eyes.
"That makes so much sense" I said sarcastically. This time, there was no infuriating chuckle. When I looked in the direction he was, I saw nothing but wall.
"You really shouldnt take your eyes off of a strange man in an alley." a voice said behind me. I gasped and turned sharply just in time to see his hand grab my throat. "You might regret it" he whispered.
I growled at him as I felt his grip tighten on my throat choking me, before releasing completely. I hunched over and gasped, trying to regain the much needed air.
When I looked up, again, he had dissapeared. I pushed myself to my feet and leaned against the wall as I caught my breath. Though my eyes kept darting back and forth, watching for a sign of the man, but saw nothing.

I sighed after 5 minutes of nothing, and left the alley, walking quickly. I suddenly remembered how hungry I am and walked to a gas station. I saw it was dark inside, but I was too hungry to care.
I glanced around, making sure no one was watching, and lifted my hand. Pointing my palm to the door, I whispered
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos" and heard the click of the lock. I pushed the door open and looked at the rows of food. I grabbed some chips, Dr. Pepper, candy bars, and other things. As much as I could carry.
I ran out of the store and into the park, looking for somewhere to sit. I decided to sit under a large oak tree. Sure, there were benched and tables, but they were too.. revealing for my tastes. I leaned against the bark as I ate, my eyes constantly watching for signs of a pursuer.
After I finished, I slowly closed my eyes, pulling my hood farther up and fell asleep. I never noticed the dark figure in the branches above me, nor did I notice when he dropped a card next to me. I did, however, notice the next morning.
I woke up to the bright sunlight, thankful I had my hood to shield me from the blinding rays, and saw a black and orange card on the ground next to me. On it, I read "I said we needed to talk. Meet me at the tree you slept under tomorrow at midnight. -slade" I growled, annoyed at myself for letting him catch me sleeping, but more annoyed that he had stalked me. I re-read the card, and muttered to myself "hope youre ready to fight Slade. cause youve officially pissed me off."

The Simulations
After ascending from his last life to become a Champion our hero has his memories locked. He is told that he must compete in competitive simulations against other Champions in order to earn enough to continue to simulate his consciousness. The competitive simulations have a variety of scenario genres, and may or may not have a game interface. The first competitive simulation our hero faces is from the Summoned Hero/Traveller to a New World genre, and is set as Fantasy Realistic - no game interface. He must ensure that the person he chose in the simulation's setup survives the end of the world in order to win. Author's note: I'm committing to one arc of four books. The arc has its own complete storyline. And each book has its own individual storyline as well. Each book also has 60 chapters, for a total commitment of 240 chapters. I'm aiming for a release schedule of a chapter every 23 hours.

But then, parallel world wizards magically kidnapped Jesse alongside a dozen of strangers. Has no one taught them consent?! The emperor and his confidants told Jesse and other earthlings that they were the Chosen Heroes and a bright future awaited them. Bullshit. That they just needed to learn magical combat at the academy, and then defeating Dark Lords would be easy-peasy. Oh yeah? That as long as they completed their sacred duty, they could choose to return to Earth or continue living on Aethelrend as kings and queens. No thanks. While other so-called Heroes were easily tricked by empty promises of power, riches, and even immortality, Jesse knew better than to believe his kidnappers. He was getting the hell out.

"Montana, come here." He nodded his head toward the door, leaving out of the room. Staying silent as Ms. Carol looked at me, I kissed the back of Josiah's hand before leaving out of the room. As I walked out, Messiah stood there looking at me in disgust while I closed the door. "What are you doing that shit for?" "Huh?" I said since I had nothing else to say, just trying to stall time to get my words together."Why are you stripping, Monty?"Sighing, I decided that I wasn't going to lie like I'd originally planned to do after listening to Chocolate's stupid advice. "Money." I spoke simply and he scoffed as I looked down."Why not just ask Josiah for money instead doing hoe shit?" "First of all, It's not doing hoe shit. I don't have sex with anyone. I just dance. And I don't want to ask him for any money. It's not his job to take care of me.""So stripping..." He trailed off with a laugh."..stripping was the last resort? Instead of putting your pride aside?" Saying nothing, I just looked at him with pleading eyes."Please don't tell him, Messiah." I could already tell by the look on his face that he was going to tell him."I ain't gon' tell him.." Thank God. I thought. "..you are." "What?!" I shrieked. "No. I'm not.""You are." He spoke in a demanding tone."Please. You know how he is." I expressed"And you know how he is too but you made that bed." "Messiah, he's going to kill me." I begged."I know." He shook his head, walking away from me."Better figure it out. You got until the end of the day to tell him or I will." He mumbled before walking back into the room.
