When Rico had been a child, he had always been warned about Humans.

"Rico. Humans are too not be trusted. They're dark creatures who kill anyone they don't understand. Stay away from them. Especially the women". Had been the warning he had been given over and over again.

Rico's family had fretted over him as he been the youngest.

They feared the day where he might caught and likely killed.

It didn't help that Rico was so small.

He stopped aging as a child. And while technically he was a late teenager now, he still remained in the body of a 10 year old.

It was embarrassing and frightening.

Rico left his family when he became a teen.

He wanted to try to survive on his own.

But that proved to be almost fatal for the small fox.

He wasn't that smart; nor was he strong.

A few times he had almost been caught by a female species that had tried to do terrible things to him.

But luckily he did have speed. And that was what helped him get away.

Running and running from the dangers.

It was a terrifying and exhausting way to live.

One day, he had noticed Y/N, he had noticed how different she seemed and how confused she too seemed.

And the strange smell that had come from her. A different but almost comforting smell.

That was what made him lurk near the house. He wanted to feel that strange sense of comfort.

And when he had been grabbed by Adam, Rico almost felt relieved.

Terrified but relieved that maybe just maybe he could see her again.

And he did, in his own fear he reminded himself of her gender, and the harm she could do.

But Y/N proved to be different. A kind relaxing person who looked at him with gentle eyes.

It made him want to cry.

That was why Rico wanted to hold on to her. Make sure that Y/N would be happy and safe.

He saw the fear in her own eyes. A fear he knew all too well.

And maybe that was why he fell so hard for her.

A likeliness that linked them both together.

It was what made Rico know that she would always be important to him.

No matter what.
