"virgil! virgil, wake up!" virgil groaned and opened his eyes, glaring at the host standing if front of him. "hey, i need you to do a huge favor and go to school for me."
"what? no! number one, we have different voices, hair colors and styles, i wear makeup and you don't. do i need to go on?"
"come on!" thomas whined, pouting, "i need to go see this musical with patton and roman! and logan needs to do his job. you basically have a free day today so maybe this can make up for all the restless nights you make me have?"
"no fair, thomas." virgil groaned but got up, "what's the excuse for you being so different today?"
"say its a dare! talyn will back you up. now get up because you're gonna be late. i'm advanced in all my classes so you just have to go to school so it shows i went today, okay? and yes, you're allowed on your phone."
"fine. but you owe me big time, sanders." he growled, "and i don't give two fucks if you have a dress code i'm wearing what i want."
thomas sighed but said bye and left with roman and patton. virgil went into the real world, after flipping logan off for being able to stay in the mindplace. he got into thomas's car and drove off to school, blasting his playlist. when he finally got there, he waited in his car waiting for the first bell to ring to go in.
when it finally did, he took his time, not really wanting to socialize with the abundace of chatty friends thomas has. he heard the whispers of if he was a new kid and chuckled, if only they knew..

he remembered that human anatomy was the first class with mrs. motley. great, he groaned, i totally love this teacher. walking into the classroom, he sat right next to talyn and put his head down. "you okay, thomas?" they asked, putting a hand on his shouler.
"'m not thomas." he grumbled, "it's virgil. i have to go in for thomas so he can go to a stupid musical. just say you dared me to channel my inner emo."
"oh, okay. lets convince joan that this is the new thomas, kay? he is gonna be so confused!" they laughed, looking over at joan who was entering the class. "hey joan! do you like thomas's new style? i think he looks great!"
joan sat down, looking at virgil's messy makeup and dark clothing, completly speachless. virgil bit back laughter at joan's facial expression. "you don't like it?" he asked, tilting his head.
"no- no! i-i like it but, just, why?" joan asked, "like, there are so many more different syles, why this? it's not very you.."
virgil went to answer when the teacher came and told the class to be silent and work on their assignment. virgil immediately pulled out his phone and headphone, turning on his music and scrolling through his instagram. it wasn't five inutes later when mrs. motley tapped on his shoulder. "get your work done please, mr. sanders."
"i have it done." he replied cockily, "so i do not need to get it done."
"fine, no phones, though. hand it over." virgil scoffed looking up at her.
"you're insane if you think i'll give you my phone." virgil laughed, "i'll put it away but you are not touching my property." mrs. motley looked taken aback at this, and rolled her eyes going back to her desk, the rest of the class laughing at her.

virgil had nothing else to do so he looked around the room, when he spotted that the shower thing was right under her. he thought about how cool it would be to have a telekinesis power for his special power. he stared at the handle when it slightly moved.
virgil jumped back, suddenly feeling more tired. "holy shit." he whispered. "no way, this isn't real." joan and talyn stared at him as he used his powers to pull down the handle of the shower. then water poured over the teacher. she jumped back and looked for a perpetrator. virgil tried his hardest not to laugh as he watched the scene unfold. when she left the classroom, the whole class burst out laughing, including virgil. "i did that, talyn! that's what she fucking gets for being a bitch to thomas all these years."
"how? what? why are you talking third person, thomas?" joan asked, looking completly clueless.
"i'm actually virgil, but basically every side has their own power, logan has the ability to learn anything and get into peoples minds, roman has the power to make anything he wants and he can fly, patton has basically all our powers combined and i just learned i have telekinesis." virgil explained, smiling as he thought about it more.
"holy.. well then. um.." talyn and virgil laughed as they were asked to leave the room by a teacher. virgil yawned, trudging to his- thomas's locker- and grabbing the books he needed for next period. joan, tayln, and him then met up to walk to their classes together.
"this is going to be one long day." virgil groaned, stretching out 'long'.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
