thomas sighed as he fell into his bed. today was a very long day. he had filmed lots of videos that day, most of it was successful but there were parts of today that frustrated him. he was having really dark thoughts lately that distracted him and kept him up. the more he pushed it back the more it became present in his thoughts.
as the thoughts came back, he snapped. immediately he summoned the first side that came to mind. virgil. who else would cause these thoughts?
virgil came up, yawning from being so bored earlier before he was summoned. "hey, thomas. what's up?"
thomas glared daggers into him, "would you like to please tell me why i'm having these insane thoughts?" virgil gave him a weird look and smiled nervously.
"what are you talking about?" he asked, genuinely confused.
thomas laughed, "so you have comepletely nothing to do with making me think about killing my friends or that stuff?"
virgil shook his head, he knew exactly who was doing this but didn't want to mention him. as soon as thomas would be aware of his presence, he would be able to see the monster who caused this. "no... i-" he cut himself off.
thomas ran a hand through his hair, just wanting to know who is doing this. "are you sure? because i know you used to be a dark side so are you sure?"
virgil felt a pang of pain in his heart as those words fell out of his mouth. virgil took a shakey breath in and shrugged. "i-i guess." he stuttered. "i'll try my best to work on those." he lied and sunk back down to his room.
when he got back, he sat on his bed and tried to just play off how much that comment hurt. he heard a soft chuckle and looked up to see someone sitting at his desk. the chair swivled around to reveal who sat there. "remus." he said coldly.

"virgil, dear. how was your visit with thomas?" he asked, a smirk growing on his face.
virgil shot him a dirty look. "it was fine."
"was it?" remus got up and stood in front of virgil. "was it really, dark side?"
virgil jumped on his feet and tried to punch remus but missed. remus grabbed virgil's face. "silly little boy." he laughed. "you are just so pathetic. do you think hiding me from thomas is really helping? because it isn't. pushing me back is only gonna rev me up more. it's only gonna get you hurt."
"i don't care." he spat, pushing remus off of him. "i promised to protect thomas from you and the others."
remus's face fell. "protect him from us? ans what about you? you're one of us." remus rose his eyebrow slightly and grabbed virgil's wrist. "how about next time you cut a little bit deeper." he smirked as virgil shivered when he ran his fingers over the fabric covering his scars.
virgil ripped his wrist away and pushed remus. "just leave already. and leave thomas alone!" as he left, remus smirked at virgil one last time. virgil took a deep breath in and screamed. "fuck! i hate him!" he yelled into his pillow, trying not to draw attention to himself. he then sobbed into the pillow, beyond stressed.
there was a small knock on his door and virgil groaned. he dried his eyes and answered the door, trying to play off that he wasn't just crying. "kiddo, are you okay?" patton asked, frowning.
virgil bit his lip, then let patton in. patton sat on his bed and held his hand as virgil explained the previous events to the fatherly trait. patton waited for the anxious trait to stop talking before he spoke. "oh kiddo, i'm so sorry." he held the boy tightly to his chest. "don't let what remus or what thomas said get to you. you are so wonderful and and most certaintly not a dark side. thomas doesn't know what he is talking about with the dark sides and remus is just a big ol' jerk."

virgil nodded against patton's chest and mumbled a thank you before pushing patton down on the bed wordlessly and cuddled into his side. patton smiled down at him and wrapped his arms around virgil, letting the overwhelmed side take a nap to calm down.
it was later in the day and patton had left virgil in his room to sleep and he was discussing what to do with logan. "i just don't know what to do." he complained.
"well we could tell thomas about remus and try to get him to accept that it's normal to have weird thoughts-"
"it's not normal, though!" logan rolled his eyes at patton's comment, logan knew that was perfectly normal as long as he didn't like them and tried to act on them.
logan thought for a minute, trying to explain to patton how it was okay. before he could even open his mouth though, patton disappeared, probably to go talk to thomas. logan groaned loudly and looked at roman, who had just entered the
room, hopelessly. roman simply shrugged, not even knowing what was going on as he sat down and played some random movie on the tv.

All you can rely on are mundane medical procedures to help you get back on your feet. And those don't come cheap! You can probably guess that injuries that in other worlds would be minor are rather costly in one where the priest class doesn't exist. What kind of dungeoneering community springs up in an atmosphere where a simple cut can mean lethal infection? How do dungeon crawlers find workarounds when conventional combat proves too dangerous? A veteran warrior who senses his time is near puts to pen a final record, a shocking tell-all about his adventuring career...

No, that's not it. Let's just live a good clean life. Speaking to the goddess of the stars about her role as a hero, it's time for our other protagonist to... save the world! Or maybe meet up with cute characters and make friends. A not quite dungeon management story with cute skeletons, demon lords, and angst the protagonist is desperately trying to ignore.
