《Sanders Sides One Shots: Volume 1 [COMPLETED]》Roses (Prinxiety)

Virgil couldn't believe that this was happening as he looked himself up and down in the morning. He had actually been invited to be a part of The Sanders Sides, a popular web series created by a guy named Thomas Sanders. What was crazy was that he would be joining him and the other three 'Sides' at his house. 'House' was a loose term given its size and structure; it was meant to house all of them and more, sort of like how a boarding school housed the students attending it. Today was going to be his first day.
All of his belongings had already been brought to the house, and he was getting ready to put his apartment key on the counter and leave for good.
Virgil's heart was in his throat; not from emotion, but rather nervousness. What would he do if the others didn't like him? What if he messed up on his first day and was fired? What if the viewers hated him, seeing as he was meant to play Thomas' Anxiety?
Taking a deep breath, he put the key on the counter and left the apartment. There was a taxi waiting for him outside that would take him to the house, courtesy of Thomas Sanders himself who had insisted on it. Once inside, he put his sound canceling black and purple headphones and stared out the window during the twenty minute long drive, trying not to let his thoughts get to him.
When the car stopped in front of the large house, Virgil took a nervous deep breath. He got out of the taxi with his backpack, holding things he'd held onto when everything else was taken to the house in moving trucks like his laptop and sketchbook. He rang the doorbell, which was opened quickly by Thomas, who greeted him happily.
"Hey! Virgil, right? Welcome to the 'Mind Palace' as the others like to call it! Come on in! Your stuff is already in your wing," he said, opening the door wider.
Virgil's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "M-My wing?" he asked, look around at the massive building. Thomas nodded with a smile, leading him up two flights of stairs.

"Everyone has their own 'wing' of this place, which has a bedroom for you, as well as a leisure room," he explained as they took a left turn down a hallway. "You can pretty much do whatever you'd like with your leisure room. Logan turned his into a cross between a library and a laboratory."
Thomas laughed a little at the statement as they reached a door with his name on it. "This is yours," he said, opening the door. Virgil's eyes widened upon seeing inside. It was already decorated with his Panic! At the Disco and My Chemical Romance posters; the walls were painted dark purple, and his furniture was all black. There was a cat plush, a brand new sketchbook, and a very colorful welcome letter on his bed. "We wanted to make you feel welcome right away, so we decorated before you arrived. Feel free to change anything about it you don't like, and oh, those are gifts from the others. Once you've put down your backpack, I'll take you to meet them."
"It's... it's great," Virgil said, smiling a little as he put down his backpack and picked up the cat plush. He hugged it a little, noting that it was extremely soft and cuddly. It would probably come in handy if he had any panic attacks. Putting it back down on the bed, he turned to Thomas and nodded to show he was ready to go.
He lead him back to the stairs, pointing to the right hallway. "That's Roman's wing," he said as they started down the stairs. They stopped halfway down, going back to the second floor. There were two hallways again and Thomas pointed to them. "That's Logan's wing, and that's Patton's wing. They'll probably want to take you on a tour of their wings at some point, but they can do that later. Let's go introduce you first!"
Thomas led him down the hall toward Patton's room first. "Hey! Is this the new guy?!" the cardigan wearing man asked, jumping to his feet and rushing over as Thomas opened the door. His room was colorful and sort of messy with all sorts of trinkets. He hugged Virgil tightly, making him gasp. "Hi there! I'm Patton! Nice to meet you!"

He pulled away, leaving the anxious emo tensed up as he laughed nervously. "Uh h-hi?" he replied. Patton talked his ear off a little bit before Thomas explained he had to meet the others and led him down the opposite hallway.
They reached the bedroom of this hallway and entered it. The man inside this room wore a necktie and his room looked very tidy and professional. He stood up from his computer and approached him much more calmly.
"Logan," he said with a smile as Virgil shook it. "Nice to meet you."
Once their introduction was completed, and he was starting to relax a little, Thomas led him back up to Roman's wing. His eyes widened a little once he opened his door, seeing a black and purple rose tucked behind Roman's ear. Virgil's heart rate picked up, knowing what that meant. The person standing in front of him was his soulmate. That was how it worked; everyone had a rose behind their ear, but only their soulmate could see it. You couldn't even see your own rose, only your soulmate's. Virgil didn't think he even had one.
"Greetings! You must be Virgil," Roman greeted calmly, despite seeing a red and gold rose behind his ear. He knelt down to kiss his hand in typical prince style. "A pleasure to meet you."
Virgil blushed furiously as Thomas laughed. "He's the drama queen of the group, but don't let him intimidate you," he explained before turning to leave. "You can find your way to your room once you're done speaking with Roman, right?"
"Uh, y-yeah, thank you," he managed, not being able to take his eyes away from Roman's. Thomas nodded and left, leaving the two of them alone.
"So, would you like to come in?" Roman offered, smiling warmly as he opened the door wider for him to enter. Virgil nodded, bunching up his shoulders out of nervousness as he followed the prince-like man inside. He sat down cross legged on the bed, gesturing for him to join him. "So, did you like the plush I gave you?"
"That was y-your gift?" he asked, cheeks warming a little as he remembered. The first thing he did upon entering the room was hug it with a smile on his face.
Roman nodded, looking proud of himself. "Yup! I got you the cat plush because your resume had a personality description in which you said you liked cats, so I thought you'd like it!" he said with a smiled.
Virgil stayed with Roman a lot longer than he'd expected to as they discussed their interests and told each other stories. They both completely forgot that they had just met. As they stopped laughing after a particularly funny story, Roman smiled at him. It was a different smile than he'd seen from him or the others. He understood why when he hesitantly reached up to touch the petals of his rose. Virgil's breath caught in his throat as their eyes met.
They both knew what they were. Roman's gaze slipped down to Virgil's lips. He caught the look, his eyes slipping closed a little as they leaned toward each other slowly. Their eyes met one more time in a final, silent question of permission before they closed completely. Their lips met gently and slowly, Roman's hand slipping down to his cheek as Virgil's arms wrapped loosely around his neck. They pulled each other closer as sighs escaped their lips. When they broke away, their eyes met again. Small smiles found their way onto their faces.
"I didn't think I had a soulmate..." Virgil murmured quietly, smiling as he looked down.
Roman returned his smile and used his hand to tilt his chin back up to look at him. "Well, you just kissed him," he replied happily. Virgil smiled a little as he leaned in close, making him blush.
"And I'm about to do it again."
