《Sanders Sides One Shots: Volume 2 [COMPLETED]》Period Panic (Slight Prinxiety)

When Rose went to the bathroom to find that blood was coming from someplace it shouldn't, she freaked out a little bit. It had been late at night, and she'd called her closest friend, Sapphire, begging for her to tell her what was wrong with her. Being the much more intellectual of the two of them, she had been able to explain that Rose was going through the female body specific process called menstruation, more commonly known as the period.
Sapphire had been able to talk her down from her brief moment of panic, and instructed her what to do for the night and what she should do in the morning. With a 'thank you', Rose obeyed her instructions and went to sleep, feeling a little antsy about telling her dads about her period.
It's not that she wanted to. She didn't want to have that conversation with them, seeing as they were two gay men who most likely didn't understand a thing about the female body, but she wasn't going to be able to buy pads and painkillers by herself, not to mention the chocolate she was going to need when the cramps kicked in. Rose knew she could trust her dads with anything, but this was just awkward. It shouldn't be, but it was. It's like the talk about sex. It shouldn't be awkward given that it's a normal part of life, but it is. Needless to say, she was concerned with what was going to happen in the morning.
Sure enough, the next morning Rose went out into the kitchen and cleared her throat to get his dads' attention. "Um, guys, I kinda need your help with something," she said awkwardly, fidgeting. "I kinda... got my first period..."
There was immediate chaos following her statement.
"OH MY GOSH! How are you feeling?! Are you getting cramps?! Do I need to go get you the heating pad?!" Virgil started to ramble, rushing over to her with wide eyes. "OH! Pads!! We've got to go buy you pads!!"

"My baby girl's a women!" Roman cried, tears starting to leak from his eyes as pulled Rose into a crushing hug. The thirteen-year-old just stood there, being crushed by her father's arms as her other father fussed with her hair and her face and just freaked out in general. "You've grown up so fast!!"
His husband snapped in front of his face. "Yes, that's all well and good, but WE NEED TO GET HER PADS!!" he exclaimed.
Rose managed to fear himself from their assaults, clearing her throat again as she adjusted her hair back to normal and took a deep breath. She was calm; Sapphire had told her what to do, and she knew what was going on, so she remained calm.
"Guys," she said, getting their attention. "Calm down. I'm not dying, Virge, and I'm still thirteen, Dad. I'm gonna be fine. We just need to go to target, pick up some pads and chocolate, and then we'll come home and watch movies, okay?"
The two men looked between each other and then continued to panic as though she hadn't said anything. Rose sighed, reaching up to rub her forehead. This was not helpful. She needed an adult that could calmly get her what she needed. Her eyes widened as she got an idea, smiling as she pulled out her phone and dialed a familiar number.
"Hello?" he said.
"Uncle Pat?" she replied, smiling a little with relief.
"Oh! Hey Rose! What can I do for you kiddo?" Patton said through the phone, a smile in his voice.
If there was one adult that he knew he could count on in a situation like this, it was Patton Valentine. The father of her best friend Sapphire and her uncle that always loved to spoil her whenever he had to look after her for her parents. She knew he would be able to come calm them down.

"I really need you to come over with Sapphi," Rose explained. "I got my first period last night, and my dads are freaking out. They won't listen to me. Sapphire has some pads I could use right?"
The man across the phone answered with not a trace of awkwardness in his voice despite the topic. "Of course! We'll be over in five!"
"Thank you!" she said, hanging up with a sigh of relief.
She looked back at her parents still yelling and freaking out. It made her emotional to see them care so much, but it made her angry that they weren't listening. She figured it was the hormones making her so bipolar; she looked forward to when Patton and Sapphire got there with pads and chocolate. She knew that another female who understood what she was going through would make her feel better.
The doorbell rang a few minutes later and Rose quickly hurried to answer it. She opened it to find her uncle and best friend in the doorway with two bags full of supplies. "Not to fear! Patton and Sapphire are here!" the man said, smiling as she hugged him gratefully. "Now come on! Let's go talk to your dads, I'll calm them down."
He chuckled to himself as he headed into the living room to find them arguing and rambling about things. Sapphire turned to Rose, smiling understandingly. "Here," she said softly, handing her the two bags. One was filled with pads and the other was filled with chocolate. "I'll walk you through putting on pads."
"Thanks Sapphi," the other girl said thankfully, hugging her and interlocking their fingers as they head toward her room.

The Systems of the Multiverse - A Guide for the Multiversal Traveler
The Systems of the Multiverse have their issues. I, an observer from outside the multiverse have made it into my mission to tell you, the multiversal traveler about those issues and dangers. This is a relatively low effort NaNoWriMo and Writhathon project. I want to test myself if I can manage 55k words in a month, likely updating every single day until the end. This story is told in the form of an in universe book. Well, I say story... While this definetly won't be great, I still hope it will be enjoyable. I do my best to avoid grammar mistakes and spelling issues, but won't promise anything. Corrections are welcome, this is also an excercise to improve my writing from a technical standpoint. Not from a worldbuilding and character standpoint however, for that you need time. Oh, the keyboards (and computers) that the observer destroys are not real and only exists in story to have an excuse to easily end this story at the end of NaNoWriMo. I also personally like reading LitRPG stories, so this isn't meant to hate them. It might come over that way, but many of those issues are simply fun to think about: what would really happen if the world is so, seen through a lease of negativity :-) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
