《Sanders Sides One Shots: Volume 2 [COMPLETED]》Back On The Beach (Logicality)

Logan had missed this beach, he realized as he strolled along the shoreline of his hometown. He'd moved away after high school to go to college out of state, and to a bigger city with more job opportunities. He'd worked his way up to becoming an esteemed editor and formed his own publishing company. He loved working with talented writers to truly perfect their work; others could come up with creative ideas and execute them, but it was his job to make sure their vision wasn't tainted by grammar mistakes or horrible production quality. Being the CEO of the company, he could work wherever he wanted.
Hence why he'd found himself taking a vacation to his hometown in Florida. He lived in Seattle, his favorite city in America. He found it gorgeous and perfect for someone of his work ethic, but he was feeling a little nostalgic for home.
His publishing company was extraordinarily successful, so he was well off in regards to money. Logan was considering buying a second home, or a vacation house closer to his hometown so he might be able to visit family and friends more often or with more ease. His nostalgic house hunting adventure that day had led him to the beach. The salty air brought back memories as it tossed his hair around. This was somewhere he'd used to come often, and feeling his feet in the sand was reminding him just how much he'd always loved the tranquil feeling it brought upon him.
That tranquil feeling was broken when he heard someone approaching. His eyes shot open as his head whipped toward them, slightly on edge do to the sudden realization of not being alone anymore. His eyes widened as he realized it was a young man about his age with headphones on. He looked familiar; the way his light brown hair curled just slightly at the edges and the way the low light of the evening reflected off his warm, sun kissed skin that was peppered with freckles.

Logan's heart rate increased as a small gasp escaped his lips. The man seemed to sense that he was approaching someone and looked up from the sand he was focused on, eyes widening with recognition as he reach to pull his headphones down to his neck.
"Logan?" he said, an awed smile crossing his lips.
"Patton?" the other man responded, a smile appearing on his face as well as they moved toward one another. His best friend from high school looked the same, but a little more matured, though he could still see the childlike sparkle in his eyes and the excitement his grin held. "God, it's been... years."
He nodded in disbelief. "Four, four years," he agreed, looking down and rubbing his neck awkwardly. "How have you been?"
"I've been very well," Logan replied, trying to maintain his composure. He'd always had romantic feelings for this boy, and seeing him again was stirring up those feelings again. He was gorgeous then, and he was even more gorgeous now. "Um, how have you been?"
"I've been great! I opened my own bakery!" he said, smiling sweetly.
The man smiled at his joy, feeling pride well up in his chest. "That's amazing!" he said. They shared smiles, but then a quiet fell between them that wasn't tense but wasn't comfortable either. It was while he was standing in front of this man that he realized how much he'd neglected to keep in contact with him after moving away. He felt guilty. Patton had made it very clear that he wanted to remain friends, but he'd been so busy he'd forgotten to reach out to him. He cleared his throat. "I don't suppose you would want to go for a walk with me and catch up a little?"
At this, Patton grinned, looking thrilled he'd asked. "I'd love to!"
The two of them fell in step beside each other as they began to stroll along the shoreline. The air around them was tranquil as they chatted about their lives over the past four years. They fell right back into their old habits of talking to each other, and right back in love as well.

"Remember when we used to come here all the time?" Patton asked, smiling as they paused to look at the sunset.
Logan nodded in remembrance, smiling a little at all the memories of stargazing and swimming they'd shared in their youth. Not to say either of them were old by any means, but as an adults they'd lost much of the time they'd had to enjoy the simple things, like the sunset on a beach.
The baker suddenly got a mischievous grin on his face as he quickly kicked up water at him and hurried away with a giggle as the water soaked the bottom of the other man's jeans. He stared down at his wet jeans as Patton continued to laugh. "How dare you," he mumbled, a smirk slipping onto his face as he splashed him back. Water showered over the other boy, making him gasp.
"Hey!" he yelled back, running over to him to and splashing him again.
That's how they got into a splash battle that ended with both of them being soaked from head to toe. They both had trouble seeing through their water speckled glasses and their hair was now flattened to their heads. Patton was giggling as he ran back toward the sand, Logan right at his heels. The baker looked over his shoulder at him and ended up spiraling down onto the sand from loss of footing, tripping the other man in the process and causing both of them to tumbled across the ground until they were on top of one another.
Patton's eyes went wide as he looked up at the man he'd been crushing on since high school, a blush rising into his cheeks that he was sure was noticeable. "Um," he murmured as his gaze slipped down to his lips.
"May... May I kiss you?" Logan whispered, making his eyes widen. He nodded a little, eyes sliding closed at the other man connected their lips gently.
The gentleness faded after a few moments as they moved their lips together with more force and passion. This was clearly something the two of them had been wanting for a long time, too long for either of them not to make the most of this. Both of them were panting when they broke apart.
"God, I've been wanting to do that for so long, Lo," Patton murmured, smiling up at him.
"As have I," the other man agreed as he leaned forward to brush their noses together. "I've always had romantic feelings for you, since high school. I'm sorry for never having enough confidence to act on them."
The baker shook his head, kissing him briefly. "I didn't have the confidence either," he reminded him. "But now I do, but you don't live here anymore... how are we supposed to explore this if you live all the way out in Seattle? I can't move because of the bakery, and I can't ask you to move again, it would be really expensive."
"Hey," Logan said softly, getting his attention. The man looked up at him with wide eyes. "I came back here looking for a second home. I'm fine with money, Pat. What if I stay here for a while? I'm on vacation anyway."
Patton looked ecstatic by the idea, grinning as he nodded a little. "Please, I've missed you so much," he said, pulling him in for another kiss. The editor smiled into it, deciding to worry about the details of finding a vacation home and working out how this relationship was going to work tomorrow and choosing to focus on kissing the most beautiful man in the world.
