《The Whipping》Chapter 33

As we twisted through the forest towards Logan's territory, I felt my heart start to beat faster, and my stomach fluttered. I could barely keep my eyes open, but the thought of finally seeing Logan was keeping me awake; adrenaline surging throughout my body.
Theo picked up his pace, gently pulling Emily along with him as he pushed the last set of brambles out of the way, revealing the Dark Moon territory. I gazed across the field, but it was empty.
"Where's Logan?" I asked Theo, my palms suddenly becoming sweaty.
"He should be at Heather's house, since he ended up destroying most of his own," replied Theo as he thudded through the field, making his way onto the path and following it throughout the village until we reached a tight corner. Emily plodded slowly behind us, stopping to take deep breaths every minute or so, but Theo egged her on, knowing that our bodies were becoming weaker by the second.
I looked up at the small bungalow in front of me, admiring its Victorian-like aesthetic, realising that this was the first time I had actually seen Heather's and Millie's home. It wasn't how I expected it to be, I had imagined it to be large, modern and extravagant, but all of the houses here seemed to hold a homely and lived in feel to them, which I liked.
Theo knocked on the wooden door, but I knew Logan must have already been able to smell me, and was most likely freaking out behind it. Suddenly, the door swung open, and in front of me stood Logan, eyes wide.
Theo gently placed me down, allowing Logan to come and wrap his arms around me for support, gazing down at me in shock. I admired his beautiful face, although his under eyes were extremely dark, and he looked as if he hadn't slept in days.
Logan squeezed his eyes shut as he pulled me to his chest, holding me tightly, inhaling my scent. He pulled back, caressing my dirty cheek with the pad of his thumb, before trailing it down to my swollen lips.
"What happened to you?" murmured Logan, his eyes becoming dark, anger taking over his once relieved and blissful expression.

"We should get the pack doctor before we speak about everything Logan. Eliza can barely stand up," spoke Theo, his arm still wrapped around Emily's waist.
Logan looked up, studying Theo before dropping his gaze to the small frail looking blonde beside him. Logan squinted his eyes in confusion for a few seconds, before his eyes went wide, and he started to run his hands through his dark hair in angst. "Emily?"
Emily nodded, sighing. "Hi, Logan."
"How are you alive? We all thought you were dead!"
Emily nodded, running a hand down her bruised face. "That's what Joanna wanted you to think."
Logan's expression changed at the mention of Joanna, and he turned to me, raising his eyebrows.
I nodded, biting at my bottom lip. "It's true."
Logan shook his head, hauling me up bridal style, before carrying me down the hallway and into the bedroom, gently placing me down on Heather's plush white bed.
"Call the pack doctor now!" yelled out Logan as he peered around the door back into the hallway. I heard Heather agree, clearly aware of my presence before Logan urged Theo and Emily to step into the room, closing the door.
Emily plopped herself down on a large leather armchair with the help of Theo, sighing heavily and holding her head in her hands.
"Are you okay?" asked Theo, concern masking his face as he knelt down in front of Emily, looking into her eyes.
Emily shook her head. "Not really, but I've felt like this for three years now. I'm used to it."
"The pack doctor is coming," comforted Logan, making his way over to me, kneeling by my side, gazing at me and then Emily in concern. "You need to tell me what happened."
I nodded. "Rosalina was a spy for Joanna because she wanted revenge on you. Joanna tried to poison Emily and gave you the drinks to take upstairs, but you mixed them up and ended up giving Jordan the drink laced with poison. She wanted to kill me to get back at you, and she had Emily trapped for three years."

Logan's eyes slowly glazed over, and it looked as if he was looking straight through me, as if I wasn't even there in front of him. Suddenly, he sprung to his feet, pacing around the room, running his hands through his hair. "Where is Joanna now?"
"Dead," replied Theo smugly.
"Where is Rosalina?" asked Logan as he tried to control his breathing.
Theo cleared his throat, dropping his gaze and chewing on his bottom lip. "Also dead."
"I killed Jordan," mumbled Logan as he stopped in front of the door, leaning his head back against it, closing his eyes.
"No, that's what Joanna wanted you to think Logan. You had nothing to do with it. You had no idea," replied Emily, shaking her head.
"Theo, how did you find them?" asked Logan, raising his eyebrows at him, shaking his head.
"Rosalina came to me out of guilt, she wanted to save Eliza. Rosalina gave herself up in order to save her," mumbled Theo, furrowing his brows.
"You are sure Joanna is dead? Because if she isn't I will personally rip her limb from limb," growled Logan, cracking his knuckles.
Theo nodded. "Yes Logan."
"Well how-"
Logan was cut off by a panicked knock on the door, causing Logan to roll his eyes, flinging it open to reveal Heather standing there, her brows furrowed.
"Logan, you need to get outside now! There's a group of wolves here forcing their way onto the territory, there's too many of them, the guards can't hold them back!"
Logan growled, pushing past Heather and sprinting out the door.
Emily and I instantly jumped to our feet, causing Theo to object, but we pushed past him anyway, making our way out of the house. I stumbled out the front door to see people clambering through the tree line, pushing past brambles and pushes, forcing their way onto the Dark Moon territory. The guards attempted to push them back, demanding what they were here for, causing someone to clear their throat, yelling for everyone to be quiet.
I took a wobbly step forward to see my father stood at the tree line, glaring at Logan in disgust as he quietened down all of the trespassers, signalling for them to stand down and make their way back to him.
"Dad?" I called, causing my father to nod at me, before turning his attention back to my mate.
"What the hell do you think you're doing forcing your way onto my territory?!" growled Logan, taking a threatening step forwards.
"We're tired of this Alpha Black. This needs to come to an end now," spoke my father calmly, lacing his fingers together.
"Tired of what?" asked Logan, shaking his head. "You've got to have over one hundred wolves here with you, it appears to me as if you have come looking for a fight."
My father chuckled, shaking his head. "Then you would be correct. The majority of nearby packs have come together because we are tired of your games. We will no longer fall to your knees just because you decide to host such a gruesome event, just to put a hold on it when it suits you. Our daughters have been through too much because of you and we are here to ensure no pack has to go through this again. You've started something Alpha Black, and we've come to finish it."
"You're playing a very dangerous game here," warned Logan, baring his teeth.
My father shook his head, growling, signalling behind him, causing one of the trespassers to step forwards quickly, taking one of Logan's guards by surprise, locking him in a headlock before yanking his neck to the side. A deafening crack echoed through the village, and the guard fell to the floor, motionless.
My father turned his attention to a shocked Logan before raising his eyebrows, a smirk playing at his lips.
"This is war."
