《I FELL IN LOVE WITH MY MANAGER (JENLISA)》CHAPTER 8

I woke up in a place with mostly yellow pastel and orange colors—that's when I knew that I wasn't in my room. I sat on a huge bed, there was a human size teddy bear in the corner and pictures of cats taken from a polaroid camera hanging on the walls. There was even a cabinet full of different types of camera!
Wow. That really looks expensive!
"What's this?" I reached for the bottle placed on the bedside table.
"A hangover drink?—OH MY GOSH! What did I do this time?! I know I get to do crazy things every time I get a taste of alcohol."
I felt a sudden thirst upon that thought and so I emptied the drink in a minute, that's when memories from last night clouded my mind.
"I must be out of my mind! How am I supposed to face Lisa now?! Okay okay. Calm down Jennie. You must act cool. Act as if nothing happened. Yes. That's it"
I got up and found myself going down the stairs. The place feels so empty.
Where are the people here?
I turned right when I heard some banging of utensils and a groan from a frustrated cook. And there I saw Lisa with a messy bun. She was just wearing a plain white shirt which she tucked into her high waisted denim jeans but looking at her from a distance makes me feel like I was watching a live cooking show with a chef whose beauty is literally jaw dropping.
"Urgh! It got burnt again! I give up!" Lisa uttered while placing her burnt toast on the plate.
"I thought you were making breakfast but you were just making a mess" I said casually. She looked at me, surprised.
"You were a mess too, last night" she smirked while looking at me guilifuly.
"Don't you ever mention that again" she laughed at me, amusingly.
"Take a shower and grab some clothes from my closet. We're going out for breakfast"

"Don't you have a cook?"
"We have. I sent him off together with our other maids because I thought their presence would make you feel uncomfortable and as for my parents, they're on a business trip abroad"
"How thoughtful but there's no need to do that next time" I winked at her before I deserted the kitchen to refreshen myself from this reek of alcohol.
It's been a month since I become Jennie's manager. Unexpectedly, I am loving this job more because I can be with Jennie all the time. Dad told me that he will move me to a higher position but I said that I would like to stay like this for a month more. I know I already fell for Jennie's charms in such a short span of time. It may sound peculiar to other people but that's the magic of love. It has the power to make two persons feel like they knew almost everything about each other in a short moment of time. I think Jennie feels the same way too but I'm still not sure about it since we haven't confessed to each other about our feelings yet. We just go with the flow, we sometimes talk intimately but most of the times, we bicker with each other. There are times that we show how much we care and worry about each other. The only thing that is left is to have a clear conversation about us but nobody dares to open up, neither her or I don't talk about what we have.
"What? Our old school was intentionally burnt down?!" Jennie hissed. She was talking with someone on the phone. She didn't even feel my presence. After the call, she sat down with a disappointed face . I guess she failed to trace who might be on the yearbook after all those efforts.
"How about your classmates? Maybe they have a copy" I suggested as I placed the coffee in front of her.
"The yearbook wasn't even released. I didn't even bother to have my copy because I was busy with my training back then"

"Don't worry too much. Just focus on your work today"
"Miss Jennie? We will continue in 5 minutes" the producer personally attended to Jennie.
"Okay. I'll be there shortly"
Mika put the final touch on Jennie's face before she stood up and went to the center. She is really glowing. She's too beautiful to be true.
A handsome guy with a well-built body walked closer to her and I must say that it is a very unpleasant sight.
"Kai and Jennie looks good together"
"I agree. I'm glad they became partners in advertising this clothing line"
They look good together? That, I don't agree. Jennie is too good for him.
"I've heard that they trained together"
"Yeah. I've heard that too. They were shipped even back then"
"Maybe they are secretly dating?"
"Why do you say so?"
"Look at how their hands intertwined naturally with each other and their chemistry, can't you feel that strong sexual tension?"
"Are you practicing how to throw knives using your eyes? And look at your clenched fist, you shouldn't be listening to someone else's conversation if you'll be that angry" Chaeng said as she popped out from nowhere.
"Let's get out of here before I tape their mouth."
"You're coming to the dinner party tonight right?" Kai asked when we finished the shoot.
"Yeah"
"Great! That means I'll be able to see you tonight?"
"Of course?"
"Jennie-yah. I've been wanting to say this. You still look pretty...and I guess I'm still not over you. I hope you won't turn me down this time" Kai kissed the back of my hand when nobody else was looking. I quickly take my hand away when I felt a pair of eyes was stuck on us.
Lisa came and drove me home. She was silent and it was a bit unusual to me.
Is something wrong with her? Should I ask?
"Jennie?" she spoke when she stopped in front of my house.
"Yeah?"
"I'm not going to the dinner party tonight. I'll ask Chaeng to drive you."
"Lisa-yah"
"What?"
"Nothing. Take care."
I thought I'll be able to enjoy this night but I was wrong. It feels like I've been missing something. Is it because Lisa is not around? Kai kept on hitting on me although it was obvious that I wasn't even interested in him.
"Are you okay?" Kai asked.
"Yeah. Don't mind me. I'll just go and get some fresh air."
I woke up in the middle of the night because of the continuous ringing on my phone.
It was Chaeng calling me. What is it this time? Did they both drink so much and now they're calling me to get them?
"L-lisa—" I was just about to open my mouth and say hello when a terrified tone called my name. There was something wrong with Chaeyoung's voice and it made my heart go summersaulting.
"W-what happened?"
"Jennie has been abducted"
I froze when I heard what Chaeng had said. I couldn't move at first. There's a part of me that is pulling me not to believe. It must be a dream. A very bad dream.
"Lisa?"
"Lisa-yah!"
"I need to end this call Chaeng. Alert the police about what happened but let's keep it confidential."
I ended the call. I need to brace myself. I shouldn't be this weak. Jennie needs me. I must save her at all cost. And to that person whoever did this, she must know that she just bumped into a big wall. A wall that will wreck her.
I looked at my phone and started typing his number. I've been contacting him ever since the drug incident happened.
"It's been so long Lisa" a deep voice welcomed me.
"Does a week seemed long enough to you? You must've missed me a lot. That's a good thing because I badly need your help."
