《Captured By The King》Twenty-four • Dinner

It was as if someone had pulled the thorns from my heart. Now that she had given me one more time to make things right, I swore that I would never wrong her again. Felicity deserves more than everything good yet I wasn't anything close to good.
I am a monster, a darkness, and evil. In my immortal life, I have done horrible things that I could never change and worst, some of them, I don't even regret.
Was the moon cruel enough to Felicity for pairing her with me? Maybe it's exactly why we were destined for each other. An angel for a monster. The light for the darkness. The greater good for the worst evil. Being the exact opposites of each other made us equal. Her innocence equaled my taintedness.
The attraction that drew me towards her is slowly resulting to my possessiveness to her. I still remember the feeling of having the mate bond between Felicity and me years ago before that stormy night yet here we were, without a single trace of the bond and I still feel her soul.
I had thought that after banishing Dominic and the beginning of the prophecy, it would make me hate Felicity and everyone else in the full extent. Yes, I felt that with the other humans, the urge and thirst to kill. Every time I saw one helpless human, all I saw was red but with Felicity, it was different.
I was like a moth to a flame, a butterfly to a flower, a hopeless man under her own spell. Not even knowing it, Felicity is like a siren, a seductress, an innocent sin. Everything about her makes me feel like a human, being heartless is what I literally am but whenever I see her, touch her, feel her, it seems that my heart beats a thousand times.
Who was I to deny her? If she wanted to be at her kingdom, then, I am here to fulfill her wish. Felicity Lowell, she is the most independent ruler that I have ever known. Picking her people before anyone else, it makes her the best queen among everyone.
But then, I also wanted to give her something to look forward to rather than as a sign of goodbye. I wouldn't just let her walk out without me, I couldn't let her do that. The least I could think of and do is to part with her in a remarkable and memorable way.

I am now centuries old but before my immortal life, I have had a few relationships which I cherished. Hoping that what I know can still measure up to this modern time, I looked at Felicity's eyes and let the words fall out of my mouth as I spoke.
"Will you let me take you to dinner, tonight?"
There was a long pause of her breath when I have said that. Maybe I was wrong, she didn't want to be with me. I should have known better, Felicity won't ever willingly go with someone like me.
But then, she said, "Yes, I would like that, Dimitrius." Although her heartbeat sounded like rapid fire shots, I didn't mind. I got her to agree with me and that's what matters the most. Just like what Katherine said, it's hard but Felicity and I would make progress.
"On one condition," she added and gave me a serious look. I focused my eyes on her mouth rather than her eyes and listened to what she was about to say. "I may be a queen and you are a king but I would love to have one dinner in my life that does not involve royalty."
There was no problem with what she wanted and Felicity wants something outside of highness, I'll give her that. She doesn't need golds and jewels to look like a queen to me, she's already perfect the way she is.
"My pleasure, Ms. Lowell." She was about to say something but it seemed like she was taken aback. Did something bother her mind?
"I realized that I never knew your last name, Dimitrius," she whispered. I grinned at the thought that she was interested in knowing something about me.
"Dimitrius Stone, my lady," I bowed in front of her which made her laugh. That laugh, it sounded more beautiful than the melodies of music that I have heard. I would give anything just to hear her laugh and giggles, see her smiles and blushes. She looked simply graceful with everything she does.
But as soon as she laughed, she abruptly stopped and a look of hurt crossed her face. "Must have been the wounds, I'm sorry," she said. While holding her shoulder, I ripped the sleeve and it revealed a large bleeding wound from her fight.

"Dimitrius! What are you doing?" She exclaimed which made me realize that I have hurt her even more because I was not gentle enough.
"I am sorry, Felicity. I can heal it but it might make you sick," I told her and she confusedly looked up to meet my gaze. Even if she's averagely tall, she's no match for my height.
"If we're going to dinner, might as well go without bleeding fight marks. I know what you're about to do, Katherine tried it before when I fell and got scratches all over my knees," she told me.
I distinctly remembered that time when at the age of nine, her mother forced-trained her to wear heels. It was when she fell that I saw her strength. She never cried about anything, not even if she's hurt with only one exception, the people she loves and cares about.
Without wanting her to feel any more pain, I bit the tip of my thumb, hard enough to draw blood and tapped it on her lips, wanting to feel how soft it was. My blood acted like tint or a lipstick on her. She gasped in shock, probably not expecting that I would have done that.
Then, she licked her lips, getting the drops of my blood on her system. It amazed me how in a matter of seconds her wounds healed. It must be the reaction of her being a pureblood and being my mate.
"How do you feel?" I asked her while she stood in silence. "I'm fine, Mr. Stone. Now, let me get dressed because I'm looking forward to that supper," she teased. Oh, Ms. Lowell, you are playing with fire.
We went outside and found all of my guards standing and waiting for us. Have I not told Katherine to send them back? They were all looking at us with astounded faces. None of them have ever seen Felicity and me without the furious tension between us.
"King Dimitrius, Queen Felicity," they all bowed. "Katherine," I glared at her, knowing that the smirk on her face was because of her plan to let everyone see us. Not that it's something I didn't want but it might make Felicity feel unease around me again.
"Dimitrius has instructed me to go back to our territory, as you all can see, he's got everything covered," Katherine spoke that hid second meanings in her own words.
Felicity stood beside me and watched as a hundred vampires disappear into thin air. What struck me the most was that she stood without holding back, she proudly showed herself in front of my people like a true queen.
Now that I have her all to myself, I needed to think quickly where to bring her. I know that all she ever wanted was something outside her kingdom, something ordinary yet fun. Felicity wanted to feel what being a normal human feels like.
And I know a perfect place where to bring my mate. So I asked her,
"Shall we?"

14.2K reads, thank you all so much! So this chapter would be the start of 'something' between our two lovely main characters. I wouldn't want this book to end so fast so I edited my drafts and added more in Felicity and Dimitrius' journey throughout this story. I hope you guys will enjoy it! Please don't forget to vote, comment, and share.
1.) Did you like this chapter in Dimitrius' point of view? (I kind of wanted you to have a glimpse of his personality that's why I've been switching point of views a lot)
2.) Who thinks they were meant for each other?
3.) Do you like Katherine or not?
4.) Is it a dinner or a dinner date?
5.) Where do you think will Mr. Stone bring Ms. Lowell?
