Blood. That's all I need. I am losing control, whoever's the person I am killing, all I know is that I need to satisfy this overwhelming hunger. No one has ever brought my beast upon me, I could not control him anymore. This is not me.
As I continued sucking on my prey, her sweet blood filled my system. It was taking the pain away, the poison that slowly and almost killed my heart.
I heard her whisper, her voice was familiar, the taste of her blood wasn't anything like I have ever tasted before except for one person. I knew who it was.
Mate.
"Dimitrius, you have to stop!"
"You're killing her!"
"She will die!
The more that the voices try to stop me, the more I drank blood. I couldn't stop even though I have to, she is my mate, Felicity. I battled my beast to regain control but he was slowly winning, I could feel Felicity's pulse fading.
So I did everything in my power to overpower the beast in me, now is not war against Dominic, it is against myself. I am King Dimitrius Stone, I win all my battles.
Concentrating on my rage towards Dominic, I pushed my beast at the back of my mind and the second I took control, I pulled away from Felicity's neck and wasted no time to place her gently on the floor and charge at Dominic.
I didn't know whether I was in complete control or not. All I know was that I needed to kill him, end his life for what he has done. He laid his hands on someone that wasn't his, he hurt the other half of me and he must pay.
Tackling him to the ground, I punched him multiple times that made him cough out his own blood. "You. Deserve. To. Die," I spat as my fist connected with his throat.
Dominic didn't defend himself, he had a wicked smile. "Oh, brother, but I think you took to much blood from your precious mate." I didn't listen to him, Felicity's not dead, she couldn't be.
"Heal her, Mary!" I said but when my eyes looked at hers, it was flowing with tears. No. She is not dead.
I ignored the cries that everyone wept. I shut them out, I focused on beating Dominic, he did this, he brought this upon all of us.
"You're the one to blame, Dimitrius. Don't worry, I could still fuck her even if she's dead."
His words fueled my wrath and fury. How dare he speak of Felicity like this. So I held out my knife and plunged it into him but time cheated on me. Dominic moved and instead, it landed on his shoulder.

"I will make your death slow and painful, Dominic. I promise that."
We both stood up and when his eyes turned to black, I knew his beast was out but that would be his worst mistake because he just let go of the control that he would need to defeat me.
"Listen to the beating sound, brother," he growled. I didn't understand at first of what he was talking about but then, I listened. I listened to the sound of a heartbeat, lub dub lub dub lub dub.
It was Felicity's heartbeat and the longer I listened, the fainter the sound became. Each second ticked and silence filled the room. Dominic smiled widely as my heart sank deeper.
Until the second came, I waited to hear the beat again but I didn't. Six minutes, that's how long a human heart could stop beating yet stay alive. I still won't believe that Felicity is gone because I would have felt the pain.
The vampires, werewolves, and witches looked at me, waiting for me to show signs of Felicity's death. As her mate, everyone knew that it would rip me apart. Even Dominic watched me as every second passed and her heart never gave a beat.
To defeat Dominic, I must be smarter than him so my only last option was to fake the pain. Show him the hurt that he desperately wanted to see and make everyone believe that she had died and when Dominic falls for my trap,
I will give him hell.
"I'm sorry, Mary," I whispered while clutching my chest, letting the tears fall from my eyes. It wasn't hard to pretend that something hurt because the days that Felicity has been gone was painful enough for me to show everyone that I am in deep anguish.
"No, no, no, she's not dead!" Mary sobbed while holding her daughter in her arms, she screamed for her name over and over again but she didn't wake up.
Five more minutes.
"Someone already won, Dimitrius." His mockery sounded like bullets in my ears, only if he knew what my real plan was. I fell to my knees as my eyes searched Felicity's. I hoped that she would show any ounce of life.
Have I drained her too much? I know that I didn't. Did I not?
Four more minutes.
"You. Will. Pay." My words came in gasps, just like how it feels to have something ripped out of you. Katherine was looking at me, trying to know if this was all a facade or was it just a game.

I couldn't mess it up so I let a deep and loud cry from my mouth. "You killed her!" I screamed and everyone except for Dominic cried, the silence that once filled the air was replaced by horrendous screams, grieving cries, and mournful screams.
"And I will kill you too, Dimitrius."
Three more minutes.
My act seemed to be bought by everyone. Dominic walked towards me, crouching down until he was eye level. He gripped my neck roughly, making me stand up. I didn't so that he would feel my weakness.
"It did not have to end this way if you never turned your back against me, brother."
Two more minutes.
Dominic punched me, kicked me, he beat me until the cracking sound of my bones became louder than their cries. Everyone was too caught up in Felicity that they never notice the real scene happening before them.
"If you had just let me killed her, we would be ruling side by side."
One more minute.
The spiteful words that came out of his lips turned to whispers. He beat me continuously but I was focused on Felicity. Everyone thought that she was gone because I let them see the pain, the pain when your mate dies.
But truly, I did not. Her heart may not be beating but she's not dead. I never felt the agonizing hurt, I knew that she was still alive yet she only had thirty more seconds before she truly dies.
Her heart needs to beat, I need her to breathe because if she doesn't, I will have no more will to live. Fifteen more seconds and it will determine our fate. If she lives, Dominic dies. If she dies, I will die with her.
Come on, Felicity. Wake up.
Ten more seconds.
I looked at Dominic and his fists that had my blood smeared all over it. He wants to end my life but I would not let him, not with the hopes that my mate is still alive.
Before she brought the beast in me, she whispered something to me and I knew that she wants me to do this for her.
Five more seconds.
More hits came from Dominic until I dropped to the ground. I still did not lose hope, her heart will beat. Slowly, I counted the last five seconds and when I reached zero, there came no sound, no beat, just silence.
Felicity's heart is not beating anymore.
But the pain never came.
Where was her soul?
Felicity, where are you?
"Goodbye, Dimitrius."
The words that left Dominic's mouth gave me the promise of death. Any second, he could rip my throat, my heart, or my head. He swung his hand and it a swift motion, he punched through my chest, puncturing every muscle until I felt his hand holding my heart.
"My King, win this battle for me."
I could never let her down. Dominic held my heart and I only have a matter of time to reverse this situation. Quickly, I brought my hand up and pushed myself away from him and he let go of my heart.
Then, I kicked him so that his back would face me and from there, I punched him hard until I reached the place where his cold and ruthless heart is supposed to be.
With all the strength that I had left, my hand entered his body and searched for the feel of his heart but failed. It wasn't there anymore, it was just a hole.
"Goodbye, Dominic."
He dropped to the ground and I faced the woman who ended the battle. She held his heart in her hand while the other held a knife and slit his throat until his blood pooled the ground.
Everyone in the room gasped in surprise. I looked at Mary and saw how astounded her expression was. I knew that she could make it, she's a warrior, my warrior.
She dropped the heart to the ground, stepped on it like the dirt it truly is. She did it, she ended the prophecy. I walked slowly towards her and the second my hands touched hers, it felt like a blissful paradise. Her scent flowed like the ocean to my veins.
"Mate," she whispered.
Sparks.
Bond.
New beginnings.
"You're mine," I whispered as I pulled her to my arms, breathing everything that is Felicity.
"I'm yours."
