"She's 100% asleep, right?" Rosalie asks Liz and she nods and they put on party hats and go to her room and then Rosalie counts to three

"Happy Birthday!" They yell and Caroline jumps awake and sees her mom and Rosalie.

"Thanks guys." She says and Liz hugs her daughter and then leaves for work and Rosalie sits on the bed

"I got you something." Rosalie says

"Rosalie, not to hurt your feelings but I'm a vampire and I'm not actually 18 I'm stuck." Caroline says and Rosalie hugs her

"We can just go to school and pretend it's another day, okay?" Rosalie says and Caroline nods

"Thanks." She says

"I'm still giving you the gift." Rosalie says as she gives the gift and Caroline takes out a painting of her

"Rosie... this is gorgeous." Caroline says

"Thank you."

Caroline decides to get ready and Rosalie waits in the kitchen and then once she is ready they go off to school.

They get out the car and Caroline talks to Tyler and Rosalie gets a text from Klaus wondering where she was and she told him it was something for Care's birthday and she sees Tyler walking away and she decides to go up to Caroline and sees tears in her eyes.

"Hey, it's okay." Rosalie says hugging her and after a couple of minutes they pull away

"We can skip school if you want." She says and Caroline nods and they get back into the car and drive back to Caroline's.

They walk in the door and drop there bags after going for a drive around town to clear their heads

"Surprise!" Matt, Bonnie and Elena jump out from the living room with party hats, balloons and a card. Rosalie and Caroline jump and Rosalie clutches her chest.

"I think I've just had a minor heart attack." She gasps

"What are you guys doing here?" Caroline asks

"Well, you blew off school and missed our work of birthday art." Elena says putting a crown on Caroline's head.

"So change into warmer clothes, we're going to the falls. S'mores, campfire." Bonnie says

"Cake. Like when we were little." Elena smiles

"Expect with tequila." Matt adds and they all chuckle

"Thanks guys really. I'm just not really feeling my birthday this year." Caroline says.

"I'm sorry. What? You've already claimed your birthday as everyone's favourite day of the year." Bonnie says

"Yeah, and now it's just a reminder that technically I'm dead. Look, I didn't even like 17 and the only point to 17 was to get to 18. It's a filler year, I'm stuck in a filler year." Caroline says.

"You're not stuck, Caroline." Elena says

"Yeah, I am. But it's okay. You know, it's all good I will be fine but I just need some time to wallow in it." Caroline says.

"Okay, well I think I have another idea." Elena says.

"There it is." Elena says as she sees the old fell tomb and opens the door

"This is creepy, even for us." Bonnie comments as everyone walks in

"No, Caroline was right. Technically, she's dead. Sorry, but you don't need a birthday, you need a funeral. You need to say goodbye to your life so you can move on with your new one." Elena says.

"This is giving me deja vu..." Rosalie says

"Okay. Here lies Caroline Forbes." Caroline starts

"Cheerleader, Miss Mystic Falls." Rosalie continues wrapping her arm around Caroline.

"Third grade hopscotch champion." Elena adds as she adds the candles and she chuckles

"Friend, daughter, over achiever." Bonnie says

"Mean girl. Sometimes no offence." Matt says.

"Eh, none taken." Caroline shrugs

"She was 17 and she had a really good life. So rest in peace so that she can move forward," Elena says walking with the cake "It's what you really need. It's what we all really need. Amen, or cheers or whatever." They laugh and Bonnie lights the candles and Caroline blows them out.

They all eat the cake and pass around the bottle of tequila, Matt takes the bottle

"Ah-ah. I need it more than you do, trust me." Elena says taking the bottle from Matt, Rosalie chuckles

"This is why I bring my own alcohol." Rosalie winks at Matt and Elena see Caroline on her phone

"Caroline, what are you doing?" Elena asks and Caroline hides her phone.

"Huh? Nothing."

"Huh?" Elena asks

"Hmm?" Care hums

"Okay, you're a bad sober liar, you're an even worse drunk one." Elena says.

"I might have texted Tyler." She admits

"Caroline." Elena sighs

"What? I'm delicate." Care defends.

"Give her a break. You can't control what everyone does all the time." Bonnie says and Rosalie laughs

"Here you've earned it also I can't get drunk." She says passing the Vodka to Bonnie who gladly accepts

"I'm sorry I know it's Caroline's birthday, funeral or whatever but I just feel like it's really wrong that you compelled Jeremy to leave town." Bonnie says.

"I'm sorry what the fuck?" Rosalie asks looking at Elena

"I'm doing it to protect him, Bonnie." Elena says

"What about getting me killed?" Rosalie mutters

"What?" Bonnie asks

"She trusted Mikael and it ended up with me dying so now I have powers." Rosalie answers

"I didn't even know that." Bonnie says.

"I wanna give Jeremy a chance at a halfway normal life." Elena says

"He should be able to choose how he wants to live, you're taking his choices away." Bonnie says

"None of you can tell him." Elena tells them

"Why? You gonna compel me not too?" Bonnie asks

"You know, you guys are ruining a perfectly good funeral." Matt says.

"I'm sorry. I'm just gonna go sleep it off or something. Happy birthday." Bonnie says leaving.

Tyler opens the door to see Caroline laying down and everyone around her

"Sorry. I didn't mean to crash the party." He says

"So don't." Matt says and Care stands up.

"No, it's okay. Hi." Caroline says with a smile

"Can I talk to you for a sec? It's kinda important." Tyler says and Caroline nods and leaves with him and Rosalie and Elena turn to Matt.

"Are you okay?" Elena asks

"Yeah, I just want her to be happy, you know?" Matt says and takes a drink

"It's what I want for all of you guys, in the middle of all of this crazy life you got stuck living." Matt says.

"Is that how you see it? That we're stuck?" Elena asks

"I say it's attached itself to all of you pretty tight, yeah." Matt says

"Bonnie's right, you know? I have no business messing in Jeremy's head. I just don't know what else to do. He's in danger here, I can't lose anyone else that I love." Elena says.

Rosalie, Matt and Elena went to search for Caroline and they decided to split up with Rosalie going one way and Matt and Elena going the other, Rosalie then sees Caroline slumped up against a tree.

"Care! What the fuck happened?" She asks franticly and Caroline looks up at her

"Tyler bit me." She stammers and then they heard footsteps and Matt appeared

"Help me, football player." Rosalie says and he helps her and they help her and Rosalie called Liz and she picked them up.

"I called Nik, he should be here soon." Rosalie says sitting on Care's bed

"Thanks." Caroline says

"Do you want me to kiss you better?" Rosalie requests and Caroline laughs.

"You are hot, like really hot but I don't think Klaus would like that." Care says

"Probably not." They hear the door open and footsteps approach them and revel Klaus.

"Are you going to kill me?" Caroline asks Klaus

"On your birthday? You really think that low of me?" He asks

"Do you want the answer?" Rosalie asks looking at him.

"Maybe. Rosalie doesn't think that though, she just says mean stuff but it's all she talks about." Caroline says weakly looking at Rosalie who looks at the wall

"Does she now?" He asks with a small smirk and Rosalie flips him off.

"Fuck off." Rosalie says and she moves to behind Caroline on the bed so Klaus can look at the bite

"That looks bad. My apologies. You're what's known as collateral damage. It's nothing personal." He says.

"I love birthdays." Klaus says

"Aren't you like a billion or something?" Rosalie scoff and Caroline flattens her hand and Rosalie gently high fives it

"You have to adjust your perception of time when you become a vampire, Caroline. Celebrate the face you're no longer bound by trivial human conventions. You're free." Klaus says.

"No, I'm dying." She says and he sits on the bed.

"And I could let you die... if that's what you want, if you really believe your existence has no meaning. I thought about it myself once or twice, over the centuries truth be told. But I'll let you in on a little secret, there's a whole world out there waiting for you. Great cities and art and music. Genuine beauty," He says glancing at Rosalie at the last part, "and you can have all of it. You can have a thousand more birthdays. All you have to do is ask." He says

"I don't wanna die." She says and he brings her to his wrist and lets her bite it healing her.

Once Caroline was healed Klaus looked at Rosalie

"I'm gonna stay with her." She says and he nods and walks out the room

"Do you want anything? Water? Coffee?" Rosalie asks.

"I want you to admit it." Caroline says

"Admit what?" Rosalie asks

"That you like Klaus, I'll be fine." Caroline says and Rosalie runs to the door of Care's bedroom then hesitates and looks back at her.

"Go." Caroline laughs

"I hate you." She says and runs out of Caroline's room and runs out the door to thankfully see Klaus walking on the grass.

"Nik." She says and he turns to her and she runs to him and pulls the collar of his shirt and kisses him.

The kiss felt euphoric. They forgot about the supernatural drama, normal drama even the world. Their kiss was different then any other it was passionate, the feeling of happiness that occurred and it was like the world disappeared but the same time it was like the whole world had fell into place, she had now accepted her fate as his soulmate and she felt happy they made each other happy and they both wanted each other in their lives always and forever.

Then they pull away to feel water on them and they look to see the sprinklers on

"And I can't fight this feeling anymore." They hear and turn to see Caroline with her laptop at the doorframe and they laugh and kiss again and Caroline cheers.

"Caroline Forbes!" Rosalie shouts with a smile as she breaks from the kiss.
