《You Can Do It Chongyun! [School AU]》Chapter 10/10: 5 Years Later

Chongyun and Xingqiu have been dating for a strong 5 years now. Xingqiu was now in college, and Chongyun started his own ice cream business. Today was their 5th year anniversary and Chongyun was going to propose. He had it all planned it out and perfect for him.
Xingqiu walked into their apartment, tired from school, as he saw Chongyun all dressed up. His heart skipped a beat as he looked his boyfriend up and down. Chongyun had sure grown since high school, and the realization never falled to make him weak in the knees.
"Why are you all fancy," Xingqiu asked skeptically, pulling his now longer hair back into a beautiful high ponytail.
Xingqiu had also grown since high school, however not as much. He was fairly skinny and average height, whereas Chongyun had more muscle and was taller. Either way they fit together perfectly, just as they always had.
"Yeah, I wanted to take you out, you've been working super hard, and it's our anniversary after all, let me treat you to a perfect date, okay?," He neared his boyfriend, kissing him softly.
Xingqiu kissed back, before pulling away. "That sounds incredible, thank you babe, how'd I get so lucky," He smiled, hugging Chongyun, who played with his hair a bit.
"I'll go get ready then!," He smiled, scampering off.
The ring burned a hole in his pocket. He knew Xingqiu would say yes, it was just a matter of making it perfect. He had the perfect date planned. And Chongyun couldn't wait to spend the rest of his life with Xingqiu.
Xingqiu turned on the shower, letting his hair down and placing the hair tie on the bathroom counter. He walked into their closet, picking out a nice button down shirt and pants. Satisfied he took off his everyday clothes, getting into the shower.
He sang to himself as he washed his hair, body, ect. Shaving just in case, as well as cleaning himself out. He was fully ready for whatever this night would throw at him. Xingqiu got out of the shower, tying a towel around his chest (just a habit he picked up from showering at school and being scared to show his chest) and drying his hair. He began to brush out his dampened hair and put it into an elegant bun. He then started to get dress, slipping all of his dirty clothing into the hamper and walking out of the bathroom.

Chongyun laid on their bed when he saw Xingqiu come out. It never failed to amaze him how well Xingqiu cleaned up, not to mention how good he smelled. He immediately got out of bed to embrace his boyfriend. "Who gave you permission to look incredible at all times, it's not fair," Chongyun joked.
Xingqiu rolled his eyes. "You dork, you too look incredible, I don't want to hear it," He stood on his tip-toes, kissing Chongyun softly.
Chongyun picked him up and lightly pressed him against the wall, kissing him deeper. Xingqiu blushed and ran his hands through Chongyun's hair. They both pulled away, panting.
"We'll save that for later tonight," Xingqiu laughed as Chongyun kissed down Xingqiu's neck, leaving a mark just to make a point to everyone who dared to stare at Xingqiu.
"Babe," Xingqiu called, Chongyun looking at him sheepishly.
"Sorry, just want everyone to know you're mine," He smirked.
"I'm all yours and will always be all yours. Now~ let me down, we have reservations to make," He laughed.
Chongyun smiled, that laugh was music to his ears. He set Xingqiu down, grabbing his phone, wallet, and keys, Xingqiu doing the same. Chongyun held out his hand, which Xingqiu happily took.
Chongyun took Xingqiu out to the carnival, winning him anything he wanted. Then, with a new giant stuffed cat buckled in the backseat, they went off to the book shop, where Xingqiu got a book to read to Chongyun; the couple's favourite past time was for Xingqiu to be on Chongyun's lap, reading aloud. Lastly, dinner.
Dinner scared Chongyun more than anything, he was finally going to do it. He had gotten reservations to the most expensive place he could. He knew Xingqiu would yell at him for that, but right now that didn't matter. He wanted to give Xingqiu the best dinner.
They got their food, finished it, and got dessert, now was the time. He took a deep breath as the slice of cake told a very confused Xingqiu to look down. There he was greeted with the sight of Chongyun down on one knee.
"This year, 5 years ago today, I nervously got in front of the whole class and announced my love to you in front of the entire class. Now my love for you goes way further than 5 years. You've been my world since I met you, even though I failed to realize that. I also failed to recognize your feelings toward me. You've always felt right laying in my arms, clinging to me no matter what. I love us, being together with you, being your boyfriend is the best thing in the world to me, and just being around you is incredible. You're so perfect and incredible, sometimes I find it hard to figure out how you ever fell for an introverted boy like me. But here we are. And I'm sure that we are meant for each other. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and I hope you do too. So, that brings me to this final question. Xingqiu, my love, will you marry me?," Chongyun made eye contact with him, biting his lip nervously.

Xingqiu was stunned, he wasn't ready for this, but he couldn't be happier. He couldn't quite get the words to come out of his mouth, so in between tears, he nodded, dropping onto the ground to hug Chongyun.
Chongyun slipped the ring into Xingqiu's finger, before hugging him back.
"You with your surprises, I love you so much Chongyun," He whispered, snuggling into his neck.
Dinner finished and Chongyun and Xingqiu rode home, Xingqiu snuggling the giant kitty plush and admiring his ring.
"Hey babe?," Xingqiu looked at him.
"What?," Chongyun hummed.
"How much did you spend on my ring, I hope it wasn't a lot, because you didn't have to.."
"It's was only $75,000, which I wanted to spend more but you don't let me spoil you that much," Chongyun sighed.
"Well yeah because I don't really deserve that much, I like the little things baby...I have enough large things that are mine," He stated, so casually.
Chongyun coughed, a blush spreading on his cheeks. "Xiiiiii you can't say things like that," He bit his cheek.
When they got home Xingqiu put the cat on the couch, and smiled at Chongyun. "I love you," He smiled.
"I love you too Xi," He pulled him close, pressing his forehead to his fiance's.
Neither of them could be happier. This was quite literally their dream come true. Them together and nothing could ruin it.
Months passed, and there was a lot of commotion in their household, dealing with all the wedding stuff. Nevertheless they were happy, happy to be together.
The wedding date arrived and it looked right out of a dream. Chongyun kept telling Aether to punch him so he could make sure he wasn't imaging things. Aether just told him that he felt the same way when he got married to Diluc, and that he'd be just fine.
Lumine was in the back with her wife Amber, getting Xingqiu's hair done, and his suit situated. Xingqiu couldn't lie, he was a bit nervous, but above all he was excited. He would finally be Chongyun's and in all honesty that's what mattered the most.
"Ready Xing?," Lumine asked.
"Way more than ready," He answered, walking out to the 'here comes the bride' music.
He got up there and Chongyun was in utter awe. His fiance was perfection, and nothing made him more sure of this fact than right now. He was so giddy to finally be marrying Xingqiu.
The regular speech went on and then vows.
Chongyun went first, as customary "now, I know I'm not as good with words as you are, so I can only express what's in my heart. I promise you that no matter what comes our way I'll be there for you. You're my everything Xingqiu, and you always will be"
Xingqiu smiled at him before opening up his paper with his vows. "Yunyun, I know we haven't always gotten along the best, we've had our fights, but we're stronger because of it. It's taken a lot to get to this point, and I'm glad we stuck through it. True love is so hard to find, and perfection is so very bland. So thank you for fulling my dark world with all the beautiful colours it's filled with now. Because without you my world would be so very dull and boring"
Chongyun smiled back at him, as Xingqiu carefully folded the paper back up, slipping it into his pocket.
"Now do you, Chongyun take Xingqiu to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do"
"And do you Xingqiu, take Chongyun to be your lawfully wedded husband"
"Yes, I do"
"Then, by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you Husbands, you may kiss one another"
Chongyun pulled him close and kissed him passionately. It was a warm and loving kiss. Xingqiu could tell that Chongyun had missed him the night before.
They pulled away the crowd erupted in applause as the lovebirds looked at one another. They were officially married. And neither of them could be happier.

The Essence of Cultivation
After experiencing five years of an adventurer's life, Arcanist Sylar Wershin now spends his days catching up on developments in Essence Studies and teasing apart the functions of arcane trinkets and artifacts discovered by him and his companions throughout their time travelling the realms of Resham. An unexpected accident during the study of his latest subject of intrigue, however, displaces him across the Planes beyond what any known spell is capable of achieving. Now finding himself lost in a realm rich in previously-limited Transcendental Essences, however, does he truly even want to return back to his old world? If nothing else, plagiarising - ahem, learning new spell structures by observing the local mages should prove entertaining. Sure, there were new dangers in this foreign world, but they wouldn't be anything a fancy bit of spellwork couldn't solve. Though, he would appreciate it greatly if someone could explain to him just what this 'cultivation' business was, why the local Mages were all muscle-brained freaks obsessed with immortality, and why they all seemed to lack any appreciation for the finer details of Essence manipulation. That would be nice.
