《The Assassin's Mate》Chapter 22

I woke up and my tummy grumbled. I looked at the time and it was 9am. I went downstairs to look for food and saw a couple of maids making varieties of food.
"Morning Luna." They all said at the same time. Luna? I am no one's Luna.
"Please, I am not your Luna." I said to them sternly and they nodded their heads and continued their work. I sat down in the dining room and one of the maids served me my breakfast.
"Thank you." I said in appreciation because this meal in front of me looked heavenly.
"You are welcome Luna." She said and I glared at her and she looked down.
"I'm sorry." She said and rushed out. Another maid came and placed a plate across me and left. Minutes later, Raiden joined me and stayed across me.
"Morning princess." He said and took a bite out of his food.
"Morning." I narrowed my eyes at him. He kept on eating his breakfast in oblivion not knowing I was glaring at him. He finally looked up.
"What?" He asked with a mouthful.
"Why are those maids calling me Luna?" I asked him.
"Because half of the pack knows you are my mate therefore, you are their Luna." He said calmly and I kept glaring at him.
"I am not their Luna! I am no one's Luna!" I said to him with an icily voice.
"Woah, calm down princess. It's okay." He said trying to calm me down. I wasn't really angry, just didn't want any responsibilities. I'm still young and I'm not ready to lead some pack.
"Whatever." I rolled my eyes at him and continued eating my food. We were done eating now and the maids took away our plates. I left Raiden and went back to my room. I wore my usual dark outfit and laid on my bed and plugged my iPod to the speaker and jammed up. I heard a faint knock on my door but ignored it. The person kept knocking and I ignored it. I knew it was Raiden and he would still enter because the door wasn't locked. He opened the door and came inside.
"Why is the music so loud!" He yelled over the music because it was loud. I looked at him then closed my eyes. The music was off and I snapped my eyes open and glared at him.

"Why did you do that?" I asked and he smirked.
"I wanted to ask you something but the music was disrupting me." He smirked again then walked to my closet and was rummaging through my clothes.
"What are you doing?" I asked suspiciously.
"Just picking out an outfit for you." He said as he continued rummaging through my closet.
"For what?" I asked confusedly.
"For our date." He said in a duh tone. Our date? What the heck!
"Date? I'm not going on a date with you." I glared at him.
"You are so difficult princess." He chuckled and shook his head. He took out a a big denim shirt, white tank top and white jeans. I never knew I had a denim shirt in my closet. I don't wear denim shirts, I only wear leather jackets.
"I'm not wearing that and I'm not going on a freaking date with you." I said icily to him.
"Oh princess, you are going on a date with me." He smirked.
"You can't make me." I said in a daring tone.
"Yes I can." He smirked again.
"Really? How?" It was my turn to smirk now.
"Remember what you did that night? Let me give you a hint, it involves death." As soon as he said that, the smirk wiped off my face instantly.
"You wouldn't."
"I would."
Ugh! The nerve of this guy!
"I'm sorry princess but it's the only way I could take you out on a date." He apologized and I gave him the middle finger.
"Don't be like that please." He begged but I ignored him.
"Just get ready. I'll be waiting downstairs." He said and turned to leave.
"Do I really have much of a choice" I muttered.
"I heard that." I heard him say.
"Get out!" I threw my pillow at him and he chuckled and ran away. Sighing, I stood up and changed into the clothes Raiden picked out for me but left out the denim shirt and paired it up with my signature black leather jacket and my black knee length boots. I brushed my hair and headed downstairs. I saw Raiden standing at the foot of the stairs.
"Wow. You look beautiful." He said as he took in my appearance. I looked him over and he was wearing a clean long sleeve polo black shirt that hugged his muscles perfectly and a khaki shorts and paired it up with boyish Nike running shoes. He looked really good.

"I know." I said as I walked out of the house. He chuckled and followed behind me. We stopped in front of a Lamborghini Aventador. My mouth opened in awe because I've always wanted one of those.
"I see you like the car." Raiden commented.
"Like? I love it! I've always wanted one of it." I gushed in excitement. Don't blame me, I'm a sucker for cars.
"Then it's yours now." I turned my head to look at him and he was just smiling at me.
"Mine? Do I have to buy it from you?" I asked him and he shook his head.
"No princess. What's mine is yours." I couldn't believe him. I'm not accepting it.
"I'm not accepting it." I said with finality in my voice.
"I know you want it so take it." He said trying to be persuasive.
"Just drop it Raiden." I said and got into the car. He followed suit and started the engine. He revved the engine to tease me and I glared at him.
"Sorry." He said as he put his hands up in the air in surrender.
"So where are we going?" I asked.
"You will see." He said and we drove off.
Fifteen minutes later, we were at a park.
"A park. Really?" I said. It's been over years since I've been in a park. It was quite painful to remember those memories.
"Yeah. I just want us to get to know each other." He said and brought out two boxes of pizza and a large bottle of coke from the car. How did I not see that. We went to the swings and sat on it.
"So what's next?" I asked him as I took a bite out of my pizza and started swinging lightly. Memories flashed before me.
"Push pumpkin." My dad cheered for me because it was my first time being on a swing.
"Daddy I can't do it." I said defeatedly.
"Yes you can pumpkin. Just believe in yourself and you will get it right. I promise."
"Princess?" Raiden called out for me and I was snapped back to reality.
"What were you saying?" I asked as I took a bite from my pizza.
"I was wondering if you wanted to play a game of twenty questions." He said sheepishly.
"Sure. Go first." I said to him.
"What's your full name?"
"Darshana Maria Cameron and yours?" I asked back.
"Raiden Timothy Black." He answered.
"Favorite color?" I asked him.
"Grey because of your eyes." I turned away to hide the blush on my cheeks. "Yours?"
"Black, white and green." I didn't want to tell him I liked green because of his eyes too. That would be too cheesy.
"Favorite candy?" He asked.
"Obviously skittles. Yours?" I asked.
"I don't really have one though. I like a lot of them." He answered. The questions went back and forth and finally, we were back in the car.
"I wanna show you something." Raiden said as we drive off. I decided not to ask any questions this time and just go with the flow. We stopped in front of this beautiful cabin. It had this vintage look and a modern look. It was so breathtaking because I've seen a lot of cabins and they don't compare to this one right in front of me.
"It belongs to my parents." Raiden's voice snapped me out of my bewilderment. "They made me promise to bring my mate here when I find her. They met on this spot and decided to build something where they first met each other." He said as he took me inside. Inside the cabin was even more breathtaking. The floors were made out of mahogany woods, there were a lot of vintage decorations and furnitures which added to the beauty of this cabin. I bet this place means a lot to Raiden.
"It's really beautiful." I said honestly.
"Just like you." Raiden said. Call me cheesy but did he just call me beautiful? I blushed at his comment because this is the first time he ever called me beautiful and the tone in his voice proved that he was being honest.
"Let's go." We ended up sleeping in separate rooms because I didn't want to sleep with him obviously. I fell asleep and hoped I wouldn't have any of those nightmares again.

The Final Test
Earth was overtaken by the Calumnia ten years ago and if it weren't for the alien Occisio race who saved the remnants of humanity, Indi's race would have gone extinct. Now, at the age of sixteen, Indi and the other surviving children are about to complete their training and return to Earth to kill the monster that destroyed their world and killed their parents. However, the children on the Occisio's spaceship have been dismissed one by one in training tests and only a few of them remain. Will Indi prove himself skilled enough to become a soldier? Or will he fail humanity as his parents did? This short story (in 13 parts) is a love letter to fans of Ender's Game and Maze Runner. Of Righteous Evil
To wield the magical Arts. The power to manipulate nature itself. Follow Silas on his journey as he learns what it means to be a Mage. With war brewing on the horizon, Silas' plan to become a hero clashes with the harsh reality of conflict. Torn between contradicting emotions, he will have to reconsider his perceptions of both good and evil. Does the end truly never justify the means? Note from author (13.09.20): Sentences have been shortened, less commata used. Paragraphs have been split up. Meant to be "realistic" fantasy, with no overpowered protagonist or evil sorcerer trying to destroy the world. The focus lies on the characters, their progressions and their inner conflicts, coupled with an intricate magic system. Constructive criticism is highly appreciated! HIATUS Updates: 12.12.20 Chapter 1 & 2 are written together. The backstory of the parents will be integrated into one of the later chapters. 20.12.20 Prologue has been rewritten, fight added. Will now continue writing the chapters until the first arch is finished. 19.01.21 Chapter 15 is written. Will hopefully be able to write more from now on, university has been kinda rough these days. 08.04.21 Chapter 16 & 17 has been written. Beginning will be rewritten (again) to start with chapter 3. Chapter 1 & 2 will be shown through reocurring dreams / nightmares. 10.08.21 Rewriting of the first arc is complete and has been proofread twice. Plot of rest of book one is 80% complete. Will publish chapters once first book is finished and proofread. 06.12.21 Second arc is finished (chapter 24/31-33). First draft will likely be finished around February, after which I will edit a few suggestions of my beta readers and publish it on RR.
