[ start of wolf moon part one ]
"- Jaden Alexander, hurry up and get ready before you're late for school!" The sound of her brother's loud voice boomed throughout the once silent house, startling Eleanor awake from the slumber she was entranced into.
At the mention of school, she sank deeper into her bed, pulling a plump pillow on top of her head and the duvet past her shoulders to distract herself from what Derek had said, attempting to close her eyes and return to sleep once more.
However Eleanor could not follow through with her plan due to Jaden wondering into her room that fell opposite from his, letting himself fall onto the end of her double bed, poking his sister repeatedly as she groaned in dissatisfaction.
Instead of ignoring his appearance completely, Eleanor slipped her head from under the pillow and sat up slightly, using her right elbow to steady herself. She squinted at her twin brother as he ruffled her bed hair and sighed, picking at her manicured nails before placing them in her brothers hands, allowing him to haul her on to her feet.
Eleanor's toes wriggled in the plush beige carpet beneath them before walking over to the corner of her furnished room, pulling out the outfit she had chosen to wear for her first day at Beacon Hill High from her duffle bag, flattening it out to try and decrease the number of wrinkles.
She picked up her beloved adidas trainers and headed into the bathroom, leaving Jaden sat on her bed to wait upon his sisters return. Eleanor checked the time on her watch before brushing her teeth, readying herself by pulling on the clothing she held and curling her hair loosely.
Her outfit consisted of a black t-shirt dress that contained pre-ripped small holes surrounding the collarbone area, fading into an intact material further down. The dress was accompanied by a long golden chain that held beads and a matching pair of earrings, laced tights containing a pattern of some sort and her maroon shoes that she had worn to pieces.
Unlike Jaden, it took Eleanor fifteen minutes to get ready, and after ten minutes in the bathroom, she was finished and walked back over to her dresser, where Jaden had began to stare at the heaps of make up piling on top of a small, unstable desk.
Applying her daily routine of mascara, concealer, pale eyeliner and liquid lipstick only took two minutes at most. However, following the break out of acne she had just endured, it took a few more minutes than expected. The young Hale sighed at her reflection in the cracked mirror before wandering back to the bed, sitting back down, huffing in annoyance, staring at her school bag with a deadly glint in her eye.
As Eleanor did this, Jaden chuckled, picking up the bag, sitting it next to her as she whined in despair. "Do you think Der would mind if we skipped our first day?"
Stress and panic played a significant part in Eleanor's life and today, the chances of it playing up were very high. Starting a new school with people you didn't know was beyond nerve wracking and needless to say she was more than just a bit scared. Her mind was infiltrated with possible mishaps and events that would potentially stay with her for the rest of her life and anyone with a blind eye would be able to see that she really didn't want to mess up her first day at school. It also didn't help that she suffered with panic attacks. A werewolf and panic attacks did not go together, and with just Eleanor's luck, she had been blessed with a curse.

"Relax El, you'll be completely fine. You'll be with me the whole time. And yes, I think Derek would be absolutely pissed if we missed our first day of school, especially in the mood he's in now." He commented, pulling the girl to her feet as she adjusted the straps on her school bag, swinging it swiftly on to her back.
Eleanor frowned at his words. "What? Why, is he in a bad mood?" Jaden nodded curtly, rolling his eyes as they heard Derek yell once more.
Eleanor picked up her phone and pushed it into her pocket, turning off the bedroom light before drifting down the stairs and into the makeshift kitchen where Derek sat, his head buried in his hands.
He looked up upon hearing his siblings enter the room and growled lowly. "What the hell have you been doing? If you don't hurry up you'll be late."
Eleanor merely rolled her eyes at his tone, picking up an apple as she turned to face his fiery glare. "Alright, who pissed in your cheerios?"
Jaden let out a loud snort at her words, mirroring his sisters actions by picking up a ripe red apple, cutting it into pieces before nibbling as he watched the scene in front of him unfold.
"Nobody. I'm fine." Derek rejected her, snapping at her statement. However, Eleanor knew her brothers better than they knew themselves and she could tell something was bothering him.
"C'mon Der, something obviously happened."
Derek looked up from the spot he had been focusing on and stared at Eleanor and Jaden intently. "Your friends happened."
Jumping in her spot, Eleanor yelped as Derek slammed his hand onto the table before retracting it, leaving a familiar inhaler in it's place. The twins both glanced at each other, well aware of who Derek had been talking about.
"Well, if you're expecting that we give it back to him, then you'd be wrong. I really don't feel like explaining to our friends that our brother found his inhaler in the woods because he's a werewolf and decided to go outside in the dead of night." Jaden hissed spitefully, taking a hold of Eleanor's wrist before dragging her outside into the morning air.
The scenery seemed to have changed drastically from the previous night, the woods much more peaceful and bright with colour. The crunchy leaves they had stood on yesterday were currently lifeless from the dew that coated them and the trees seemed to have swayed. Eleanor adored seeing the nature around her and loved that she lived in a place where she could observe the beautiful surroundings.
"Jade - Are you alright?" Her voice was quiet in the scenery surrounding her, watching her brother intently as they distanced themselves from the Hale house and in to Eleanor's car.
"Yeah, yeah I'm chill. His pissy mood has put me into a pissy mood, though; he's never like this, so I don't know why he's being such an arse."
She nodded slowly. "Exactly what I was thinking. There has to be something else going on with him. That or he's on his man period. I know exactly what you're feeling."
Jaden grinned at the sentence she had spoken, followed by a laugh as his sister frowned in confusion,. "Of course you know how I feel. You're an Empath, it is what you do."
"Technically, I haven't connected to anybody in a while. Derek has me more focused on my werewolf abilities than what I can do with my mind. I've been more focused on the training side of things lately."

Jaden wasn't fazed by this, instead, encouraging her to try her Empath abilities on him. "Well, if Derek wants to be the one helping you with you werewolf abilities, I'll help with your Empathy."
Eleanor glanced sideways at her twin brother. "You're not hinting that you want me to connect to you, are you?" Jaden merely grinned, sending her a thumbs up as the car continued to trek to their new high school.
"You can't be serious, I'm driving Jade." Groaning in annoyance, she focused on her brothers breathing, using it as an anchor to connect to him that deemed simply impossible for any other werewolf to accomplish.
After a couple of seconds, the emotions Eleanor was feeling were no longer her own, but Jaden's instead. His individual emotions were reeling into her mind and she giggled as she felt the excitement from her brother rush into her.
"You're way too excited Jade." He laughed at her comment as the car pulled on to the road leading into their high school car park. Sighing, Eleanor stared ahead, not at all focused on her brothers emotions anymore.
"El, you'll be fine. Besides, we'll have Scott and Stiles with us now." She nodded, knowing that he was most likely right and she was probably overreacting about the situation entirely too much.
Eleanor pulled into a parking space remotely close to the school building and switched the engine off, pushing the door open as Jaden did the same, trying to ignore the multiple stares toward the siblings and their car from students around the campus. She held her keys tightly in her hands, turning to face her twin as he grinned.
"Speaking of Stiles, when are you going to tell him-"
Stiles grinned at the familiar faces in front of him and pushed his head in between them as they screeched in shock. "Tell me what Hale?"
Eleanor held her hand to her chest, trying to regain her breathing as Jaden blew out a sigh of relief upon finding that it was Stiles, throwing an arm around his buzzcut friend as he grinned.
"Nothing Stilinski, don't worry your pretty little mind." Stiles merely raised an eyebrow at Jaden. "Now, where is our puppy eyed friend?"
Stiles pointed to an area of the high school parking lot where Scott was climbing off of his bike, locking it to a metal post as a sleek grey porche pulled up next to him. The guy relishing in his glory pushed the door open, hitting Scott in the side upon doing so, causing the brown haired boy to wince.
"Ah, so that's Jackass." Eleanor observed, earning a high five from Stiles at the nickname before smiling as Scott noticed both her and Jaden's appearance.
"Before we go in, I have a question. Why were you in the preserve last night?" She raised an eyebrow at the two boys in front of her as they widened their eyes, realising that they hadn't been discreet at all.
Coughing awkwardly, Scott brought her into a hug, trying to avoid her question without it seeming odd. "Well hello to you too."
Eleanor raised an eyebrow at the boy, returning the hug before crossing her arms over her chest, awaiting a reply from either of the two as they sighed in dismay, knowing that they wouldn't get out of it easily.
"How did you know?" She smirked, shrugging as Jaden rolled his eyes.
"We were out in the preserve at the same time as you." The older twin admitted, receiving a playful glare from Eleanor as he spoke.
"Uh, we were looking for the second half of a dead body." At the mention of a dead body that could potentially be their missing sister, the twins tensed. "But we didn't find it. My dad caught me before we could search."
Jaden raised an eyebrow. "He caught you, but not Scott?"
"Yeah. He thought you three were with me but Scott disappeared and I had to leave him in the preserve."
Eleanor smacked Stiles in the shoulder, glaring at the Aderall enthused boy. "You left him in the woods?" Jaden also looked taken back by the idea of him leaving his best friend.
"Yeah, but I messaged him straight away and apologised! Besides, it's not like I could tell my dad to let me continue searching." He tried to excuse his mistake.
"Well, thanks to you, I have a nasty bite on my side and nightmares that will haunt me for decades!" The hispanic boy hissed, crossing his arms over his chest in frustration at his best friend as both twins raised their eyebrows at the argument displayed in front of them.
"Care to fill us in?"
"When Stiles left me alone, I turned around to walk back home but then dropped my inhaler. I tried looking for it and all of a sudden these crazed deers appeared out of no where and pushed me down this hill. I have no clue what, but something attacked me, I think I was bit."
Stiles grinned wildly at the boy, nearing him as he spoke. "Well, let's see it."
Scott lifted up his shirt sheepishly, revealing a square white band aid in the place of what Stiles presumed to be the animal bite. However, Jaden and Eleanor deemed the situation familiar and glanced at each other wide eyed as Stiles reached out to touch Scott's torso.
Flinching back, Scott dropped the hem of his top completely, covering up his wound. "I think it was a wolf."
Upon hearing this, the twins grimaced in dismay, knowing exactly what had happened to the young boy stood in front of them. However, they were both unsure as to who would have bitten him. They knew that although Derek wasn't impressed with their two friends this morning, he wouldn't act out and bite an innocent without consent. In addition, they didn't know of any other werewolves present in Beacon Hills apart from themselves, their older brother and perhaps their missing older sister.
"Dude, it wasn't a wolf." Stiles scoffed, rejecting the idea completely as Scott furrowed his eyebrows, hurt by his friends words.
"How would you know? You weren't there Stiles."
Again Stiles scoffed, louder this time, turning to face the three friends behind him as they headed toward the entrance to school. "Because California doesn't have wolves, okay? Not in like, sixty years."
"Wait, really?" Scott stopped in his tracks, shocked by his informative friend as both the twins nodded in agreement with Stiles' words.
"There are no wolves in California." Jaden confirmed, patting Scott's shoulder in sympathy to cover up both his and Eleanor's worry for the boy.
"Well, if you don't believe me about the wolf, then you definitely won't be believe me when I tell you that I found the body."
All three of Scott's friends changed their demeanours instantly. Jaden and Eleanor were frozen in place, their minds reeling with possibilities that they wanted to deem impossible. Stiles, however, perked up at the sound of Scott's words and turned to face the long haired boy, grinning from ear to ear as Scott grimaced at the memory.
"Are you kidding me?" He gaped as Scott shook his head, trying not to relive the memory of falling onto the bottom half of a deceased young girl.
"Oh god, this is freaking awesome! I mean, seriously, this is going to be the best thing that has happened to this town since," Stiles' rant blurred into silence at the sight of high school popular Lydia Martin and her clique of friends walking past him, "-since the birth of Lydia Martin."
"Hey Lydia! Looks like- like you're just going to ignore me." He called out as Jaden turned to his sister in concern.
"And that's Lydia? Huh." Eleanor's tone of voice was snippy and sharp, contrasting to her otherwise bubbly, care free persona and both Scott, Jaden and herself knew why her attitude had changed completely.
Eleanor had fallen for her buzzcut friend a long time ago. Her crush seemed to have bloomed in the early summer months when she had first moved from London to California at the youthful age of seven. Both her and Jaden had been placed under the care of Mr. and Mrs Finstock whom lived in the town of Beacon Hills where both Scott and Stiles grew up. When attending the same elementary school, the four became inseparable, becoming best friends in a matter of days.
After that, her budding friendship with Stiles became something more superior than their four - way friendship. Upon having a talk with her adoptive parents about feelings and relationships in general, she had been surprised to admit that she fancied Stiles. Over the years her crush had only increased, to the point where she could easily say that she loved him.
Instead of commenting on her statement, the three boys stayed silent about it, acting like she had said nothing spiteful at all.
"This is your fault, you know."
The statement shocked both Scott and Eleanor as it had been directed to them. Jaden was bound to become popular with his charming ways and brooding looks, whereas Scott and Eleanor had been branded 'dorks' since they were merely two years old.
"How is this, in any way, our fault?"
Jaden snorted at the offended look plastered across Scott's face. "You two have dragged me down to your nerd depths."
Eleanor scoffed at the boy, pushing him playfully as he grinned, dragging an arm around Scott. "I've been scarlet nerded by the both of you."
Before either of them had time to reply, the bell rang, echoing through the hallways and the surroundings of Beacon Hill High, signalling the student bodies first lesson. Eleanor shuffled to stand next to Jaden as the two other boys turned to look at the twins, excited grins glowering.
"See you in English, yeah?" They both nodded, waving at them as they followed the hoard of pupils attempting to enter the school entrance at the same time.
They turned to the bench displayed beside them and shrugged, sitting down next to each other before sighing. "So, Scott was bitten."
Jaden winced. "Please don't remind me. How the hell did he manage that? And who bit him?"
"Well it certainly wasn't Derek, he wouldn't bite without consent. It has to be somebody else."
"What? So now there's a new werewolf running around Beacon Hills?" Eleanor rolled her eyes at his words, nodding as he whined.
"God, one day at our new school and we already have more issues than vogue." He slumped back into the bench dramatically, causing Eleanor to giggle at him, pushing him off of her shoulder.
"Get a grip princess. And stop reading tumblr posts excessively, it can't be good for your health." She told him playfully as he pretended to send her a glare, pushing her back as she rolled her eyes.
A silky voice belonging to a gorgeous brunette brought them out of their conversation, allowing them to focus on the phone call she was having with her mother. "Calling three times on my first day is overdoing it a bit, don't you think?"
She sat down on the bench opposite to the twins, placing her bag next to her as she started to rummage, searching for an object. "Yes, I remembered everythin- everything except for a pen."
"I'll be fine mom, don't worry. The principal is coming so i've got go, love you." With that, she ended the phone call, sighing in dismay at the realisation that she didn't have a pen.
Elle turned to look at their new principal walking towards the three and looked to the brunette, grimacing apologetically. "If I had a spare pen, I'd definitely lend you one."
The girl widened her eyes, looking up at the twins as she gasped in surprise, waving her off. "What? Don't be silly, it's my own fault for forgetting a pen! Thank you."
"I'm Eleanor and this is my twin Jaden." Eleanor greeted, standing up along with Jaden.
"I'm Allison."
The principle stood in front of them now, smiling as he asked them to follow him into the school building. "I'm sorry to keep you waiting! I see you've already aquatinted yourselves. So, have you always lived in California?"
The twins stared at Allison to answer first as she smiled politely. "Uh, no. I lived in San Francisco before this, but I move around a lot for my fathers work."
