Your attention drew away from your date and towards the door to the diner where your best friend, Jonathan, entered.

He looked towards you with a smile which soon turned into some what of an annoyed look as he furrowed his brows and narrowed his eyes.

"Jonathan, hey." you greeted with a smile.

He nodded his head in acknowledgment before turning his focus onto your date.

"Who's this?" he asked.

"This is y/d/n. You know, the guy I've told you about." you state.

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Jonathan of course you do."

"No no, you've literally told me nothing about him before." he said, turning to face your date as he said, "Guess you're not important enough to her for her to mention you to me."

"He's just teasing." you rolled your eyes. "He's my best friend, it's what we do." you assure your date with a small shrug."

"Yeah... best friends." Jonathan said with a sad smile before excusing himself.

As he walked out of the diner, his head hung low as he mumbled in defeat, "I should of asked her out when I had the chance."
