Quite a few people struggled with who they were and sometimes it took a while for them to actually come to terms with how they were feeling.

You could sympathise with those that were struggling, no one deserved to go through what they were going through nor did they deserve the backlash from others.

For a long time, you hadn't felt comfortable as the person that you were, you had struggled with how to tell those closest to you as you didn't even know if they'd understand how you were feeling.

Despite your worries, your family couldn't have been more understanding and supportive.

They had all been there for you throughout everything the past few years; it had taken a while, but you were finally comfortable in your own skin.

Relationships were also something that you worried about because once it got serious, you'd have to tell them that you were still undergoing some things and that not everything could be changed.

You and Rachel had been together for a few months and you wanted to be serious with her but a part of you was worried about how she would react.

As Monica was out on a date that evening, Rachel had invited you over for a movie night.

The two of you were cuddling on the sofa when it struck you that you should tell her, because if you didn't you knew it would only be more of a shock in the future.

"Rach?" you questioned, causing her to look to you. "Can I talk to you about something?"

She looked confused but sat up so that she could face you properly. "Of course, you can."

You took a deep breath before explaining it all to her. "I'm trans, and I don't know if you know what that means but I was born as a boy and now I'm me."

The shock was evident on her face but she didn't start screaming at you so that was a good sign.

"Some parts of me are still male and I don't know when I'll be able to change that," you told her. "But I want this to be a serious thing, I want to be honest and I just hope you can accept this."

She didn't say anything to you but pulled you into a gentle kiss. "Oh sweetheart," she breathed out as she placed a hand on your cheek. "Nothing could change how I see you."

You could've cried at how understanding she was being, you couldn't even describe how much it meant to you that she was accepting.

"It just took you a little longer to get to who you're meant to be, and sweetheart that's okay," she looked into your eyes as she spoke to you. "And I love you, I love you for you and that's all that matters."
