"I cant keep putting you through shit like this every time we try to go on a date, it isn't fair on you." He turned away from you but must have been able to feel your heart sinking.

"Don't let other people come between us. I don't care if you're different." He pushed your hand away as you tried to rest it on his back. "Stop behaving like this. People treat you and your family like shit, I can't say I know how that feels but I cant imagine it's nice. Don't let our relationship be another thing that has to end because of that."

"What am I gonna do when were closed down?"

"What are you talking about."

"We're one of the only freak shows left, people just don't care for these things anymore, what happens when were closed?" He finally turned around to display the tears that were falling down his face. "I can't get a normal job."

"We'd make it work Jimmy, we'd be fine as long as we had each other."

"Love doesn't pay the bills y/n, love doesn't keep the lights on."

"We would find a way to make money, my parents have said they'd always help with me when I wanted to find my own place." He ran his hands through his hair and wiped the tears from his cheeks, this time much more calmly you began walking with him back to the camp.

"The parents you're too ashamed to introduce me too?"

"I'm not ashamed. You're only just taking me home to meet your folks remember?" He quickly pulled his hand away from yours as you walked together. "Of course my parents are going to be funny about who I introduce to them. Besides, I'm more than happy to live and pay my way at the camp for now, so long as I get to be with you. Because that's all that matters to me."

"Yeah, it's what I want too, just a shame it can't be that way."

"The only person saying we can't be together anymore is you. Now stop being a grade A dumbass and just let me meet your family."

"Fine." Jimmy stopped and finally took your hand back in his. "We can try, but if you ever come close to getting hurt because of me, I don't know what's going to happen."

"I've always got my Jimmy to protect me."
