《How I Survived (Zombie Story)》Chapter Twenty-One

I woke up and heard silence. We had been staying inside the control room, waiting for the storm to end.
Silence... The winds had stopped.
I sat up, looking at my group. The new people, including Sammy, well Alli, were still sleeping. Except for Jone, who was watching me.
I looked over at Ricko, who was leaning against the wall, coughing. He glanced over at me and gave me an assured wave. I waved back, and he coughed again, his shoulders hunched.
Jone had a shotgun in his hands, while he continued to stare at me. "What?" I whisper.
"Walkers." He mumbles.
"Where?" I ask.
"Around the van. The wind stopped. They know we're in here."
"Then we need to leave," I say in a sarcastic tone.
He motioned over to the new group. I shrug. "Are we accepting them into the group or something?" I ask, confused.
"Yes. But stay on watch." He commands. "Okay.." I grumble.
We wait for the group to wake. Miranda wakes up, yawning.
"Hey." She mumbles.
"Hi," I say.
"We survived another day." She says. I nod. "You okay?" She asks.
"I think so.," I whisper.
"Sammy- I mean Ali... Is she talking to you any?" Miranda asks.
I shake my head. She looks over at Sammy, who was up now, and standing near Beverly, drinking a bottle of water. "That chick is rude," Mirands tells me. "Beverly?" I ask. She nods.
"She didn't want to share the snacks she had in her backpack the first night we were here," Miranda tells me.
I rolled my eyes in my mind.
Jone grabbed a green backpack and walked over to me. "Where now, Captain America?" Miranda asks. I held back giggles.

"We should start making our way to the safe zone." He says, ignoring her comment.
"Where the crap is that at?" Miranda asks.
"20 days from here," Ricko informs.
"How do you even know that we will even be alive by then?!" I ask.
"We need to survive. We need to keep moving." Jone says.
I stood, facing him. "Are you sure? Because you're putting our lives on the line.. Why don't we just search for somewhere safe?"
"We should camp in places, and move the next day. And keep going." He continues.
"Unless you wanna split up." He says. "But I'd be taking the van, and you'd take 'Mr. I'm not sick over there," Jone says, motioning to Ricko, who was coughing his head off, and Lucy and Bella was sitting beside him, talking about how Kylia used to always tease them about different things.
Kyle was staring at Ricko, angrily.
"He's not sick," I say.
"And... How do you know?"
"I j-" Hunter cuts Jone off. "Back off of her man," Hunter says, holding my arm and looking at Jone. Jone shoots me a look. He lets out an annoyed breath and pushes past the both of us.
"What was he saying to you?" Miranda asks, standing, Olivia joined her.
"Telling me why we would try to make it to Ohio."
"It's in Ohio?" Miranda asks. I nod. "Hey, guys. Are we allowed to stick with you?" The guy named Todd says, cleaning his cracked glasses with his green shirt.
"Yea," I say. Marvin, his brother I guess, stands beside him. "Thank you." He says. "Anytime," I reply.
"Let's go!" Jone says from the door. I heard the startling bangs from the sides of the wall. We hurried down the halls, one at a time, into the van, Ali got in and Lucy shut the door. Me, Hunter and Jone jumped into the truck part of the camp truck.
We were back on the road.

Recruit - An Infinite Labyrinth prequel
A prequel to The Infinite Labyrinth. The year is 1816. The British Empire is in full swing, under the auspices of King George III. The Infinite Labyrinth has been pouring out its product from beyond our reality and fostered a new industrial revolution. Times are changing, and the people of London are feeling the winds of the revolution while British Professionals push into the Labyrinth. The newly formed Artefact Hunting Company is looking for recruits, and they have new technology to help them. From the slums of London, they aim to recruit a new wave of Professionals. And make Zacharias and the Earl of Carnavon lots of money. So, for Rowan Rivers and a handful of lucky ones, it's time to head into the Labyrinth, and discover what makes it different from England. And what makes THEM different? Recruit is a bunch of chapters I wrote to create to the setting, mood, and game systems of the Infinite Labyrinth. It is NOT a complete story in the classic sense. It's more of a slice of life view of early days of a normal Professional from the Infinite Labyrinth, and it's heavy on info-dump. It's 90% canon - there's probably a bit of a difference between how some characters and common behaviour are portrayed here and how they'll come out in the main story. Set two years before the events that kick-start the main series, it features some of the secondary/peripheral characters of the Infinite Labyrinth and will tell you all about the basic mechanics of the Labyrinth's RPG system. It can be considered a spoiler, as the characters in the Infinite Labyrinth are going to need to figure out all that, on their own. But if you like a much deeper exposition in the mechanics, here it is. The entire prequel is about 80 pages long.

The Warrens
The Warrens is a story about four siblings (quadruplets); a spy, a mechanic/inventor, an assassin, and a detective (though they kept it from each other), who are trying to save their parents. One day, Nica, one of the quadruplets, found a pair of black headphones, and that's when their 'normal' lives went haywire. Libero, an organization who wants to rule the world using mind control, are after them. the question though, was 'why?'. Will they be able to save what matters most in the end? This is my first story here in Royal Road Legends! Hope you appreciate it!
