《How I Survived (Zombie Story)》Chapter Twenty Six

"I knew we should've ditched you!" Joe accused me.
"It's your fault anyway!" Luis yelled at Joe. "Dude! She's the one that tricked me."
"And you were dumb enough to listen!!"
I was lying in the dirt, listening to their endless arguing.
"We don't need her! We can just run while we have the chance... We lost our only brother!! She murdered him! So why don't we just kill her..?"
"No. You can run from all your problems. Count me out." Luis says.
"You saved her, over your brother! What's up with that man?!" Joe yells.
"It was my job! He's the one that tried to save her, remember what the rule said?" Luis asks.
Joe is silent.
"Fine man!" Joe says, "I'm leaving. The captain isn't pushing me around anymore!" Joe says. Captain? Who is this man?
"Who is that?" Luis says.
"That's.. That's George's van!"
"Sit her up! Quickly." Luis says. Joe snatches me and quickly sits me up against a box they had been carrying around.
A van rumbled on the path towards us. It stopped and the door opened. A short man came out, he looked just as mean as Luis.
"Where is she?" The man asks.
Joe nervously pointed at me. "Get her on the van. Where is Ben?" The man asks.
"She killed him," Joe says.
"Really...?" The man raises an eyebrow at me.
The man pulls a baton from behind his back.
•••••••••
I woke up, again. I had been continually knocked out. This time, with a baton. I groaned as I was walked down a dark hallway. Wherever I was... It was dark. A door opened and I pushed in. A girl was sitting on a neatly made bed wearing a mustard colored uniform. The cell-like door slammed behind me. "Oh my God!!!" Miranda shouted in a loud voice shouted.

"I knew you were alive!!" I say as soon as I noticed it was Miranda. She ran to me and quickly hugged me. I barely noticed her thanks to the uniform.
"What happened to your eye?" She asks. "What's wrong with it?" I ask.
"You have a black eye.."
"Oh. They kinda.. Knocked me out." I say. "Oh my god... I call dibs on killing whoever done this.." She whispers. "I call dibs on killing whoever made you wear that ugly uniform," I say sarcastically.
"And... I need to tell you what really happened..." I say. She nods.
"The uniform may be killing my fashion sense.." She says tiredly, "but at least you have to wear one too." She says pointing to the one folded neatly on my bed. I cringe.
"Where are we?" I ask slowly, looking around the small room. There was a bunk bed in the corner and then the oval-shaped bed in the middle. A window that had stone bars was at the top of the left wall. A small fan was in the corner, a let's not forget the bare ugly metal chair sitting in the middle of the room.
"I don't know.." She whispers. "Could this be... The safe zone?" I ask.
"I don't know.. But I have a feeling we might find out.." Miranda whispers.
"What have you been through?" I ask, when I noticed how healthy she looked, unlike me, with my dirt stained clothes and a black eye.
"I woke up here, a day ago. The last thing I remember was when we were in the radio station and I was knocked out."
"You stayed in this... Room for a whole day?!" I ask. She nods. "This. Is. Not... A safe zone.." I say.
"It couldn't be." She says, her eyes widen as if she remembers something. I heard strange sounds from the window, like a groaning sound. "What is it?" I ask Miranda. "Come here." She says and walks over to the window with bars. She moved the metal chair over, and stood on it, she helped me up there also, and we both peeked in.
"Whoa..." I whisper.
"It's not safe here."

In the future, prisoners are no longer kept in traditional prisons. They're put into comas and permanently dwell within realistic, full-dive virtual worlds. Mei is a journalist and activist falsely convicted of political crimes after accusing an official of sexual harassment. She finds herself in chains aboard a ship in the Caribbean, a prison realm set in 1675, in the age of sail. Oversight is corrupt and the guards are violent. And this also happens to be the golden age of piracy. Yo ho, yo ho. It's a pirate's life for Mei. Book 1 Mei arrives in the Caribbean and battles for her freedom against the devilish English navy, is kidnapped by Caribs, and comes face-to-face with a jaguar. As Lance, Juan, and Cheeto face their pasts, the crew becomes privateers. Their first prize: a ship full of rum and a week of drunken debauchery in Curacao. The Last Breath
When Yezzu first sent his sons to the realm of men, they brought with them the magic of the gods. They created the three kingdoms we now have today being Dremshen, Ex'ol, and Kantillion. In the five thousand years since the gods left, much has changed. Great wars were fought, Universities were built, civilizations were created. One thing remained after the gods' departure though, their powers. Today, the balance of crafting the three gods brought has shifted. In the beginning, each had the same skill as the other, but the magic that was passed down through the millennia has diminished. The struggle for power that started long ago is coming to a defining moment. Plots of war and assassination are being weaved. Don't despair, for we may yet be saved from the disasters to come. Our hope lies in three young crafters. The first is William Divus, who sets out from his small village into the Dremshen Kingdom to study crafting after his father's passing. His questions about his father and his quest for knowledge drive him. Next comes Ehzahn Obasi, an Ex'olian thief with unparalleled skill. He steals for the thrill, no longer needing the rewards that come with it. He has just achieved his lifelong dream, but he will soon learn how much he underestimated the fallout from his daring theft. The last is Ki Soru, the niece of a powerful duke. She showed promise with crafting at a young age, so she had the best training the Kantillion Kingdom had to offer. Ten years have passed since her lessons began, leaving the king unsatisfied with the results. Her life is upended when her new teacher arrives, revealing a secret kept from her that changes her whole life. These three are our heroes. They were born in separate kingdoms under vastly differing upbringing, but each with their own part to play in the challenges to come. Here begins our tale of mischief and misery with only but a sliver of hope.

MCU Oneshots and Novellas
My back catalogue of shorter MCU fanfiction. Most are focused on Loki, Thor and Odin, but the other Avengers also show up on occasion. 1. Loki tries to cheer Thor up. [set between Ragnarok and Infinity War] 2. Another Sleepless Night Thor has brought Loki back to Asgard and Odin has pronounced his sentence – Loki is to spend the rest of his days in the dungeons. Truths, Lies and Bilgesnipes There are children you can leave unsupervised for an afternoon without courting danger. To Odin's consternation, the two young princes of Asgard are not that kind of children. With Frigga absent and Odin distracted with the minutia of government, Thor and Loki sneak out of the palace on a bilgesnipe hunt. Their short adventure leaves Loki badly injured. But the physical injury is not as potent a force as the secrets Odin is determined to protect or Loki’s desperate need to live up to his father’s expectations. 4. Dear Mr. Thanos The trouble with the universe is that it doesn't want to be balanced. In fact, it requires regular pruning. In the year 2327 the Infinity War is a distant memory and Ariadne Thornton has some questions for the dark spectre that has haunted the universe for the past three hundred years.
