《How I Survived (Zombie Story)》Chapter Thirty Nine

We were about to leave the building, Jone stopped and took a look out the double doors I hear a bunch of groans from the undead and I tense up thinking the walkers would come in.
He quickly shut the door and cursed under his breath, shaking his head and smiling his challenged smile. Jone loves challenges, I wonder what he was thinking.
"What?" I ask, his eyes flashed past mines, and they seem to light up and he quickly brushed past me and I turn to what is a walker corpse.
Jone fell to his knees, moving fast he took his knife out and begins cutting at the walker cloth.
"Please tell me we aren't going to-" Kyle starts, but Jone quickly cuts him off.
"Yea."
Kyle groans as Jone shoved the knife into the corpse and sliced the walker open. I was about to vomit, but Beverly did it for me, and Sammy clutched my hand. Emily came beside me, looking at me and she nods her head, "I've done this before." She whispers.
Jone stares at us, "Who's going first, or am I?"
"Heck no..." Miranda says, her face washes over in horror. "The walkers think otherwise." Jone reminds us and points to the double doors which were bulging from the walkers slamming their selves against the door.
"Never-mind.." Miranda quickly says, and steps over to Jone.
"You'll live," Jone whispers, looking up at Miranda. She rolls her eyes and Jone wraps his hand in a cloth he ripped from the corpse's body and wrapped it around his hand.
I cringed and covered my nose with one hand and Sammy hung onto my arm.
Jone scooped a bunch of the dead body out like it was Thanksgiving turkey stuffing. He began slathering it on Miranda's leg and her cheeks puffed as she tried not to vomit. Suddenly walkers began to try to push the door open, Kyle slammed himself into the door, like he was still a football player like he was in high school.
Beverly cries out as a walker makes it in and grabs her shoulders to take a big bite out. She was screaming now as the walker snarled and leaned its head in. Jone began to stand, but I was already about to help.
I react as fast as I could and I throw myself into the walker and me and the walker hit the ground, me on top trying my best to keep the walker down so someone would shoot it. It grabs my arm and snaps its teeth at me. I shriek and I wrestled myself off the walker, terrified.
The walker grabs my ankle, and I hit the floor, and I think I've busted my knee. I cry out as the walker grabs my leg, about to bite me.

I scream, kicking the walker as best as I can and suddenly blood splatters all over my face, my eyes closed and there's a long ringing sound. I'm okay.. my head wasn't just blown off. Get up now Lara.. you just let a walker toss you around.
The zombie's head is blown off and my eyes are wide as saucers as the blood spattered on my face, and I turn to see Sammy, holding a shotgun almost bigger than her own hands in her trembling hands.
Beverley grabs Sammy and hugs her, and Sammy drops the gun as if she's gone into shock.
The walker goes limp and Jone chuckles and shakes his head slowly, "Please tell me you didn't get scratched..." he says.
I search my arms, my eyes wide and alarm now, there were no scratches. I shook my head and expected Jone to look at me with suspense but he just simply says, "Great, now Lara does me a favor and use that walker and start rubbing this stuff on Emily."
I force a nod and look at the corpse that had attacked me and I nearly scream. I back away, and crash into Emily who was standing behind me.
It was Olivia. The walker was... A zombified Olivia. My own friend. I gasped and covered my mouth in shock, even though its head was blown off I could from the bracelet she always wore and her pink faded shirt.
I was close to crying, but I remembered I needed to stay calm, and not lose my mind. Tears were welling in my eyes.
There was no way I could cut the walker open, it was Olivia... well not anymore.. but still. What happened to her?
I turn to Emily, her eyes were closed, "I'm ready." She whispers, not even flinching.
I turn back to the walker and start to cut with the knife. Kyle was still wrestling the door, looking over at me every now and then I guess since I was just attacked by a walker. I slowly cut the walker's shirt, and it exposes Olivia's gray skin. I nearly cry, but I fight the tears and cut the skin open, and wrap my hands in the cloth I cut off from her shirt. I tie the cloth around my hands.
I slowly dig through the insides of the walker and I nearly vomit. The smell was disgusting. Poor Olivia... "I'm sorry Olivia," I whisper and turn back to Emily who was waiting.
I slathered the guts on her legs, and arms and her neck. She looked at me and smiled. I forced a smile back. She was covered now, so she went to help Kyle with the door, Kyle would open the door, let two walker in and she would kill them with her knife.

Sammy was next, she looked terrified. "I don't wanna do this." She whispers, her huge eyes looking at me.
I curse under my breath and look back up at here. She stares at me and shakes her head, tears welling in her eyes.
"Sammy. I mean Ali..." I say when I remember she didn't remember anymore. "You want to live right...?" I ask, slow and steady even though time was ticking away.
She nods and tears roll down her cheeks, "I want to live, but now in a world like this.." She says, her voice cracking. "It's ok..." I assure and I take advantage of her surprise and slather the guts on the side of her face.
She doesn't say anything, she just looks at me with huge eyes. I know I'm a traitor for putting these guts on you, but I want you live. I thought to myself.
I finish Sammy and she stumbles away, trembling like a broken washing machine. I felt horrible for making her do it but I didn't want her to die.
Beverly stumbled towards me, "I'll do mine, you do yours." She says. I nod and we both slather ourselves in walker's guts. I cringe, and the vomit gets to me and I turn my back and vomit.
The smell was horrible, the vomit and the guts.
Now everyone was covered, except Kyle. Rick and Kyle quickly switched and Kyle ran to the corpse and he began cursing.
He covered himself quickly grumbling curse words like a sailor and when he finished, and we all looked at each other.
"Three..." Jone whispers.
I look at Sammy who was clinging to my arm and Emily was behind me.
"Two.," Jone says, holding the door loosely now. Beverly shuts her eyes tight and Miranda pats her back assuringly. Kyle grabbed my arm, and Emily moved in front of me and I held her shoulders.
Beverley hung onto Sammy's other arm and Miranda held Kyle's shoulder. We all looked like a bloody ball of people.
"One.."
Jone slowly lets go of the door and walkers stumbled in. I prayed Hunter would be ok. I remember the people had started barricading the lunch room doors when we left... they'd be fine, there was an emergency exit.
Sammy was shaking, and Emily was dead silent. The walkers walked right past us, one bumped my shoulder and I shuddered. It growled and titled its head, snapping its teeth. The walkers kept coming... so many. We slowly began to move forward.
Sammy had been digging her nails into my arm and tears were welling in her eyes. The smell... it burned my nose and made my eyes burn. We soon were outside, and we could see the gates, it was already dark which made it seem worse.
I could see the gates, and where it had been broken. A huge white van had been driven through the fence and parked perfectly past the gates for an entry for the walkers. The same van at the hotel that killed Janitor Brown...
We kept moving slowly, and a walker pushed into me again and groaned in my ear.
It snapped its teeth at my ear and I moved up some, bumping into Kyle who held me still and we kept moving. Sammy was panicking now, looking at the walkers with wide eyes, she was going into shock, I realized.
We needed to move faster. We were in the middle of camp, and of all things, bullets rang down on us.
My eyes widened and I looked at Jone who motioned for us to keep going. We kept going. Kyle cursed and grit his teeth as a bullet tore at his muscular arm, and I quickly placed my clothed hand on his bleeding bullet wound.
"It'll get infected..." Jone whispered, and I quickly removed my hand. It made sense, walker blood was on the cloth. Kyle was gritting his teeth now, clutching my shoulder as we kept moving.
Sammy had dug her nails into my wrist so hard that it drew blood and I was bleeding now. Silent tears rolled down her cheeks as we moved. Emily was silent, her eyes scanning her surroundings.
The bullets kept coming, and we kept moving, fast but slow and we tried to move more like the walkers did, slumped over and dragging their limbs behind them.
Thunder rolled into my ears, and then lightning. I hoped it wasn't going to storm, and it didn't. Thunder and lightning just seemed to strike.
We were almost to the gate now, and Kyle was bleeding badly, his eyes closed every now and then.
We slowly walked over the broken gate, we had made it, barely. Walkers were still walking past us, to what was left of the camp.
Hunter, please be okay.
We kept moving until we were clear of the walkers. We nearly ran through the woods, heading directly towards the city.
I was a truly confirmed wreck.

I am also from the home of tea and crumpets (the uk) so if there are some u's and s's your not used to seeing thats probably it. Uh I dont really know what else to put in a story description so just give it a shot and let me know what you think, any pointers would be greatly appeciated.
