NO POV
Inside an empty warehouse Coal sat on a box staring at a small tv. Playing on the tv was the fights for the Vytal Festival.
Coal: Man these kids think they're hot shit, wait till I eat them alive.
Coal was ordered by Salem to go into hiding until the fall of Vale. But it's been weeks now and he's been bored out of his mind. He's not even allowed to go eating. So now he's starving. All he gets to do is stay inside this warehouse and watch the small tv.
???: Knock, knock, you still here?
Coal quickly looks towards the noise, sitting on the edge of a window above was Cinder. With her she had a duffel bag. She jumped off the window and landed on the ground.
Cinder: To be honest I'm surprised you're still alive. I thought you would have killed yourself just for the excitement of it.
Coal growled at her.
Cinder: No need to get hostile, I come bearing a gift.
Cinder threw the duffel bag towards Coal. He wandered over to the bag and opened it up, once he saw was inside he grinned. Inside was individual pieces of human meat. Coal took out an arm and began to devour it.
Coal: Where did you get this?
Cinder: Courtesy from the queen herself.
Coal: Speaking of which, how much longer?
Cinder: Our plan will began during the final round of the tournament, it is then you strike.
Coal: By the way I saw your fight, not bad. Of course you could have taken them out quicker if you weren't playing around.
Cinder: like you wouldn't have done the same? Besides we cant show our true strength yet, it's best if we keep our enemies in the dark.

Coal: Anything else, I rather eat in peace.
Cinder: Very well, I'll call you when I need you.
And with that Cinder left, leaving Coal to eat his meal.
Coal POV
I didn't know where I was, everything around me was black. I got up and started walking in a direction but it lead me to no where. I started hearing sinister laughing coming from all around me. Suddenly chains shot up from the ground and wrapped around my arms. I was forced to the ground as I tired to break free. I heard footsteps and saw someone come out from the darkness, it was my mother. She had an evil smile on her face as malice filled her eyes. She raised her feet and stepped on my head.
Winter: Well, well, look where you are. Right underneath my feet, like you should be. Because you never will be anything in life. I trained you most of your life to be a soldier and you die on your first mission. HOW WORTHLESS CAN YOU BE!
She started kicking my face over and over again. The whole time memories of my child hood came back to me. I started freaking out.
Me: PLEASE STOP, I'LL BE BETTER I PROMISE, I'LL TRAIN HARDER, I'LL SHOW YOU I CAN BE A SCHNEE!
She stopped kicking and glared at me.
Winter: You think you're words have any value? It's clear that you need to be punished more severely.
Next thing I know I'm strapped to a metal chair. Winter then pulled out a pair of metal pliers, my eyes widened.
Winter: You remember these right?
I frantically started pulling against the restraints.
Me: PLEASE NO! PLEASE NO! PLEASE NO! PLEASE NO!
Next thing I know everything vanishes, the next thing I know I'm staring back up at the ceiling of the warehouse.

Me: It was...a dream.
Right after I said that I ended up throwing up. I crawled over to the mirror, what I saw shocked me. On my face some sort of mask had formed.
I raised my hand to it and touched it. I started to chuckle, something about this mask made me feel powerful.
Me: Soon, I'll show my entire family that I am powerful. And then as they beg for my mercy and tell me their fake apologizes I'll devour them alive.
NO POV
Coal started to laugh and anyone who heard his laugh was able to feel the insanity and blood lust coming from it.

Rifts of War
The visions. It was they that told us about our future. They said that we were the true rulers of the world, the spreaders of light, the guardians of the rightious path. The visions gave us signs of a bright new world, one united under a single banner of light. All those who opposed us suffered and here we stand on the top, watching over the world. We thought it would last forever, but we thought wrong. The visions once again spoke to us and gave us insight, but not to glory or power. They spoke of a terrible fate. An enemy from beyond the realm, one that wishes to destroy us all, one that threatens to bring about the end of the light and usher an age of darkness. As its guardians, we could not allow that. And so we decided to strike. Our armies and our mages gather at the great rift that connects our world. No one knew what we would find. Treasures? Rich land? Savage beasts? There was only one way to find out. A/N: The story starts out pretty quick and I know people will say this is a "military p*rn" but that's only the beginning. I really do have much more planned for this book so I can make a true 'war of the worlds' type of deal. So stick around and enjoy
