An- gah I haven't actually seen this anime
~•~
The low hum of hundreds of students echoed in the longs halls. The different herbivores and carnivores mingling about as you walked through the front door.
The student began to quiet as you walked by. A low growl escaped your throat. You hated this world, it was so unfair to not only you as a wolf, but to those herbivores.
Even the Omnivores were treated unfairly. Not like you had taken shit from anyone here. Your tail swung aggressively back and forth between the students who parted from your way.
To be frank, they were all scared of you. Not only did you have an aggressive attitude, you were not afraid to put someone in their place with nothing but your words.
"Hey! You should be wearing a proper uniform!" Someone shouted. Your intense glare scanned the crowd.
Your eyes landed on a fellow wolf. "Hmm, I don't remember asking or looking anywhere for your opinion? Oh that's right, I didn't ask for it. Now fuck off." You snapped, teeth almost baring. Without another word, you kept walking.
"What in the hell do you think you're doing bumping into me? Stupid cat!" Tanjirou backed up into the wall, his hands up in defense.
"I-I didn't mean too..." The Carnivore reached out and pinned him by the throat to the wall. "I didn't mean too~! Oh sure you incompetent piece of shit!"
Tanjirou's tail puffed up in defense, something he couldn't help when being cornered. "I'm sorry." He answered to the demeaning comment.
The Carnivore's claws sunk into the locker. Tanjirou's eyes widened with fear, he wasn't able to process what happened to piss this beast off so much. "I'm sorry don't mean shit!"
The Carnivore's nails ripped out from the locker hurting Tanjirou's sensitive hearing. His fuzzy hears pressed up against his head.
Just as those long claws were about to cut his cheek, your arm shot in front of him. The Carnivore's gaze followed your bloodied arm to see you staring with a fire in your eyes.

"You okay Tanji-kun?" The cat in question gave you a small nod. You turned towards the animal in front of you cowering like a small rabbit.
He backed away, his tail fluffed up. He shot both his hands up as you moved in front of Tanjirou. Sure you were small than most wolves but that just have you the edge.
"(l/n)... I was saying hi." He stuttered now starting to ramble. You glanced at the blood now dripping down your arm. "Huh... I don't remember saying hi involving blood. Now do I?" You said in a monotone.
The bully in question started to let his jaw flapper. "Will you shut up?" You leaned down and held his mouth shut. "Oh that's right--" Your own narrowed icy blur star bored into his "-- you can't shut your mouth. How else would all that hot air escape?"
You let go on him and turned around. "Get out of my sight." The sounds of the Carnivore's claws scraped against the ground before fading completely.
The moment Tanjirou's eyes met yours, he started to tear up. "Whoa, what are you crying for Tanji-kun?" With his ears pressed up against his head, he grabbed your arm, fur soaked with blood.
"You're injured because of me." You really didn't want to be inside this building anymore. "We can talk on the roof. All these people are getting on my nerves." He stared at you, his cute little ears now perking back up.
"Okay, (Y/n)-san~!" You walked down the halls, Tanjirou at your heels. This world was unfair. With Tanjirou being one of the most gentle creatures in this school, it made him a target for those wanting to gain some sort of power.
You were protective of him and his younger sister. There were others as well but Tanjirou was at the top of that list. You opened the door to the roof, the cool breeze now ruffling your fur.
Tanjirou watched as your fur soaked red as the wind ruffled it. Your eyes gently closed as you felt it ruffle through the fur.

"(Y/n)-san...?" Tanjirou said quietly. At the sound of your name, you turned around to look at the feline.
His pupils were still narrowed and ears pressed against the rosewood fur showed that he was on edge. You hummed in a questioning tone as you took a seat in the sun. "Thank you... again."
Your turned towards him with a smile. No way where you going to let that jerk get away with hurting him. Mental or physical. "I made a promise didn't I? I keep my word Tanji-Kun." Slowly he took a seat beside you, a blush crept up through his fur.
"I know... B-But you got hurt..." He mumbled. You looked at the claw marks dragging across your greish fur. Without warning Tanjirou grabbed your arm and started to wrap a bandage around it.
"Where did you get those?" You questioned. Since your primal nature kept you from feeling too much pain, the bandages weren't very necessary. The gesture was appreciated none the less.
"You're always getting hurt, so I carry them everywhere now." Your tail fluffed up in embarrassment. You reached the bandaged hand out and ruffled the fur on his head.
"Your ears are still pressed back Tanji-kun. You gotta relax. I'm fine." You said with a smile. As a response, his own rosewood ears perked up. You watched as his narrowed pupils widened, now showing a calmer state.
His tail still whipped around for a second before relaxing and wrapping around his body. "That's it Tanji-Kun." Your mind did begin to wonder to when the two of you met.
Unknowingly, your hand lowered to scratch underneath his chin. This cause him to shut his eyes and purr contentedly.
You were a small pup, the runt of the litter in your family. Not like that had stopped you from protecting yourself and those important to you.
This became important when you were at a playground one day only to find two kids being cornered. Not finding this fair yourself, you stepped in. Teeth baring in a defensive way to make them back off.
With only a few cuts in your fur later, you turned around only to see two kittens no older than you. One a pretty rosewood and the other a black and orange calico with a pink bow.
"Are you two okay?" The red one nodded, almost scared to look into a wolf's harsh stare. When he did, he found nothing but concern.
"I'm Tanjirou and this is Nezuko..." The black one stood behind her brother, ears pressed back while her eyes narrowed on you.
"Does... Does that happen often?" You asked, now feeling ashamed that you couldn't help sooner. Both of them gave a small nod. "Well... how about you guys be my friends? Then I'll have a better time driving off those bullies." Tanjirou looked to his sister before nodding.
You were abruptly brought back when something crashed onto your lap. You had been scratching Tanjirou's soft spots for 5 minutes lulling him off into a literal cat nap.
He curled up silently still purring. A small smile pulled on your features. "Don't worry... I'll always be here to protect Nezuko and... You, Tanji-Kun."
Your gaze shifted upwards to the sky above. White whispy clouds and shinning blues. Why couldn't everyone just put differences aside? What's the point in focusing on what species you are or the color of your fur?
That's the point, some people say that some types are just too different to get along. That they could never see eye to eye. But that was a lie we all tell ourselves.
We are different. Our needs, lives, the color of our skin or fur. You believed that is what should draw you together. Your hand softly played with Tanjirou's ear, rubbing the soft rosewood fur.
He began to purr louder. A small smile grew onto your features. "Always..."
