"Henry is dead!"
Schlatt had sent me out looking for Tommy once more, and I was wandering around the SMP looking for him when I heard someone yelling. And it was clearly Tommy.
I crept towards the source of the voices, seeing Niki and Tommy standing in front of Skeppy and Bad's house. Well, it shouldn't be considered a house, it was a mansion. It was huge.
Tommy was waving his hands around, ranting to Niki about his cow. The boy had never mentioned his pet before, so I didn't know it even existed. The cow must've meant a lot to Tommy because I hadn't seen the boy this angry since before the duel.
I pressed myself into the shadows of Punz's rebuilt tower as another person came walking down the path. When I recognized the person, I longed to reach out to him.
But I wasn't in control of my body, so I stayed hidden as Dream made his way towards the two. He paused for a moment next to where I was hidden, looking around. There was no way he could see me, but he looked around as if he could feel my presence.
When he didn't find anyone he continued on, saying something to Tommy when he neared them. I couldn't hear what they said but they walked off towards the tower that was poking out from behind the mansion. Bad followed them out of the mansion, probably wondering what they were doing.
I was about to step out of my spot but paused when Sapnap, Skeppy, Punz, and Antfrost were walking down the path. Before they reached me, I could hear Sapnap talking to them, "Oh he's dead. Tommy's so dead." His eyes were staring off towards the mansion, my own following.
Smoke was rising from behind the building, flames licking at the tower.
But the darkness didn't care about that, it cared about what Sapnap said.
I stepped out of my hiding spot, in front of them. They all abruptly stopped, shock on their faces. Sapnap seemed the most surprised, he hadn't seen me in this form up close yet. I felt a smirk grow on my face, "Hello boys. Did I hear you wanted Tommyinnit dead? If so, we may have some business together."
-
I now walked with the group of boys towards the burning Eiffel Tower, smug. I had somehow made a deal with Sapnap that he would get to fight Tommy if I could take him to Schlatt as soon as he was done with him.
I think I made Sapnap feel on edge because he kept glancing at me. The human part of me wanted to reach out and embrace him. I missed him so much.
When we stood in front of the crackling flames, four figures stood staring at it. They hadn't heard us come up behind them, giving us the advantage.
Sapnap broke the silence, "This is all over a dumb cow?"
The four whipped towards us, Bad walking over to stand next to Skeppy. Dream just stared at me, but Tommy only focused on Sapnap, "You killed Henry!"

"Yes, but no. I was trying to take him hostage and he fell." He just shrugged, his eyes glittering from the flames. There was no saving the tower, it was almost completely eaten away from the flames.
"You dragged him neck first off a cliff! And he died!" Tommy was growing more agitated by the second.
"Yes, but-"
"YES! WHAT DO YOU MEAN- that's so horrifying!" Tommy yelled the words but before Sapnap could respond, Tommy ran towards the man.
Luckily Sapnap raised his sword in return, blocking Tommy's hit. I glanced quickly at Dream who did the same before I ran towards Tommy. The darkness didn't care that it made a deal with Sapnap, it wanted the boy dead.
The two had moved away from me in combat so I ran towards them, pulling out my own sword. But right as got within range of the boy, Dream stepped in front of me. His netherite armor danced with enchantments, but parts of it seemed dented and scratched.
"Move out of the way, lover boy. I know you won't fight me, not when she's still in here." I threw some curses at the darkness for talking to Dream like that but there wasn't much else I could do. I took a step towards him, intending to walk past him but he blocked my path.
"Don't call me that. And don't underestimate me, I will fight to keep you away from Tommy." I mentally cheered him on for standing up for Tommy but I prayed he wouldn't get hurt. He had practiced fighting with me before, but the darkness made my body much stronger and agile.
The thing inside me growled, anger rising as I saw Tommy teleport away to fight with Sapnap further away. I started to sprint towards the two, sidestepping Dream. But I heard him following me.
I sped up, my vision turning red around the edges when I spotted Tommy. Oh, it wanted blood badly. I tried to gain any amount of control to stop the darkness, to stop running towards Tommy. But it's bloodlust kept a firm grip on its control.
Suddenly, I heard Dream's footsteps stop behind me. I glanced over my shoulder, only to see purple particles in his place.
As soon as I whipped my head back around, I ran into something hard. I fell backward, looking up at Dream. He glanced at me and then turned to watch as Tommy teleported away into the woods. Dream grasped a blue circular object from his pocket, looking at me one last time before disappearing.
I dashed through the purple specks, meeting up with Sapnap. Our group quickly followed the two into the woods.
-
We had lost sight of Tommy for a few minutes, but we spotted him running through the trees once more. My group was gaining on him.
We were running through the woods when I noticed we were running towards a cobblestone tower. The thing inside me cackled, we were running straight towards his base.
We reached the edge of the forest, a small lake in front of us. Tommy jumped over it, landing on his hands and knees on the other side. He rose quickly, staring at Sapnap, "Sapnap, I have your fish."

I went to take a step towards him, but Sapnap held out his sword to stop me.
I glared at the man, but he ignored me, "There's only one man who had that fish."
"Well, he gave it to me." Tommy pulled out a bucket holding a fish for a brief second before putting it away again. "I hate to say it to you but there's one thing I have that you'll never ever have,"
He paused, grinning triumphantly, even though he was the one that was being surrounded,
"I have The Blade."
Immediately following his words, a small sphere was thrown from somewhere behind us. A tall pink-haired figure appeared next to Tommy, staring each of us down. He stood slightly behind the boy, giving us a look saying if you so much as think about hurting him, you'll deal with me.
I just grinned wickedly at him when his gaze landed on me. The darkness turned giddy at the thought of fighting.
I could hear a slight stumble in Sapnap's heart but he didn't show it. He kept a hard look on his face as he sized up the new opponent. He glanced at me quickly, I gave him a slight nod, "Tommy you're still outnumbered. We're not scared of you."
Tommy's face didn't falter at his words, only standing taller, "We have Techno, Dream, and Mars. So you're going to back off now or Mars is gonna get it."
Sapnap sneered at him, "You wouldn't touch him."
"Oh wouldn't I?" Tommy glanced to the right for a moment, "Listen, fellas, you wanna back off because we have a Dream."
Dream appeared on the other side of Tommy in a swirl of purple particles. His netherite armor was smooth now. He must've fixed it quickly in between battles.
Tommy's eyes turned to me, widening slightly as if he hadn't noticed me before. A smirk found its way onto my face, "Tommy why don't we just make this easy, and you can come with me?"
Techno's face darkened at my words, but Tommy just stared me down, "No."
I turned my head to Sapnap, nodding. His eyes turned back to the small group in front of us, "I think we'll take this fight." He raised his bow, the others following. I raised my sword.
Tommy glanced at the tower next to them, "The Battle of the Lake." Techno just rolled his eyes, raising his sword.
Bad let an arrow fly at Tommy, the boy moving to the side. Skeppy and Bad ran at Dream, the latter dancing out of their swings. He moved with ease around them. Sapnap and Antfrost took after Tommy, I began to follow but Techno was staring me down.
I smirked at him, sprinting at him. He ran at me raising his sword, bringing it down towards my head. I ducked, swinging my own sword at his side. I had never met this man, but I could already tell he was a better fighter than Tommy. The darkness chuckled, excited for a challenge.
We moved methodically, almost like a dance. Neither of us landed hits, playing the offensive before quickly switching to the defensive. Although he was my opponent at the moment, I admired the way he fought.
I eyed Skeppy helping Bad limp away, leaving Dream alone. I risked the movement, slightly turning to look for Tommy. I saw that he was somehow holding off Ant and Sap. Dream glanced at me, taking a step towards where I was fighting Techno, before changing his mind and running to help Tommy. Punz followed him, switching sides to aid the masked man.
While I was distracted, Techno swung at me. He got a nasty cut on my arm, getting a gasp from me. Although the darkness wouldn't let me feel the pain, I knew he cut deep. I glared at him, holding my arm. I pulled my hand away, ignoring the sticky blood.
I ran towards Tommy. I was becoming frustrated, the bloodlust taking hold once more. I heard Techno following after me. Dream got a hit on Ant's leg and told Sapnap to go home. The dark-haired boy glared at his friend before helping Ant walk away.
Tommy began to cheer until he saw me running towards him. His eyes widened, taking a step behind Dream. The masked man paused at the sight of blood gushing out of my arm but stepped further in front of Tommy.
I slowed my running, as did Techno. He stayed behind me, ready to attack if I made a wrong move. I grinned at Tommy, "Just us left. I don't care about the fish, I want you to come with me. Schlatt wants to have a chat with you. As does Tubbo."
My smile widened at Tommy's reaction to his best friend's name. The blood drained from his face, taking a step towards me. The darkness was just luring the boy in. Tubbo had nothing to do with this, he was back at Manburg prepping for the festival.
But Dream stopped him, holding out his arm, "Tommy's not going anywhere. Tubbo is fine, you're just using his name." Tommy glanced at Dream's mask, some blood returning to his cheeks. "Now leave, you wouldn't want that cut to get infected."
At the reminder of the cut, it gave a sharp throb. I hid my grimace. Even though I couldn't smell or feel anything, I knew it would become infected if I didn't take care of it soon.
I sneered at the mask and Tommy, turning to Techno, "See you at the festival tomorrow."
I walked off, ignoring Tommy's victory cries.

Saga of Fallen Kings, Book I: The Revenant Prince
The Philosopher King once conquered the known world, his power seemingly unlimited and his armies inexhaustible. Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have. The Exodus Project
This is the original version of Origin before I rewrote it. It's much more simpler, some names and personalities are a little different. THere's nowhere near as much back story or character development/interaction. But the story is essentially at the end of book one. I wrote this 15 odd years ago, and with a bit of polish it doesn't look too bad. The story like Origin is about a group of college students who find a ship that is the last remnant of an ancient human space faring civilisation, they fix her up and go back into space. Along they way they'll meet alot of aliens, religious fundamentalists and conmen.
