《Whispers ~ Dream SMP War x Reader》Part 38

Even hours before the war, Techno was still just farming potatoes.
The others were running around with half-full potions, hyping each other up. I could feel the nerves buzzing through the ravine but it was rivaled by the excitement. It was almost suffocating.
And poor Ghost was almost stepped on twice. I let him stay outside with Carl so he wouldn't be in the way.
I helped brew some potions, sharpen swords, and build shields. I had everything I needed so I helped in any way I could. After two hours of helping, I wandered into the potato farm. It was much quieter in here, the only sound being Techno's movements.
Wilbur also sat in here, staring out into space. He didn't notice my entrance but he didn't seem to be fully present. Perhaps he was trapped in his own nightmare.
The pink-haired man was on his last set of potatoes, piles trailing behind him. I gripped my sword, thankful that the weight was attached to me again.
Amidst the chaos, Fundy had been able to take out my stitches. I was almost fully healed, the skin looking normal again. Nobody questioned how it had healed as fast as it did.
I swung my sword absentmindedly, my body now able to twist and turn like before. My magic sensed the events that would take place in a few hours, sending excited and strong pulses through my bones. Thankfully, that covered up the slight flutter of nerves in my heart.
Techno didn't look up from his work, "You feeling better?" There was no hint of nerves in his voice. I didn't suspect that he would be nervous though. He enjoyed these kinds of things.
I flipped my sword to my non-dominant hand, "Yeah. I feel like I'm pretty close to being normal again."
He nodded, pulling the last potato from the ground. Gathering the piles in his arms, he threw them into furnaces that dotted the walls. We wouldn't have to worry about food clearly. "Just make sure you don't get stabbed near there again."
I chuckled, "Well, I don't plan on getting stabbed at all." He gave me a sharp look, "But I'll be extra careful with my side." Content with my response, he turned back towards his furnaces.
There was a loud smash from outside of the room. I pocketed my sword, stepping out. Glass shards were scattered around and a lime green liquid spread beneath it. And slightly behind the mess stood Tommy.
He stared at it, before shrugging, "Oops." He ran off towards where Tubbo and Quackity stood making arrows.
Fundy shot a dark look towards Tommy, kneeling to pick up the glittering glass. I crouched to help him, "Careful, don't get too close to the potion. You'll be jumping to the ceiling if you do."
Ah, Potion of Leaping. That explained the bright color and equally as colorful particles.
I stood, throwing away the broken potion glass into a bin. As I did so, several figures came through the small nether portal. The ravine became even more crowded as Niki, Ponk, and ... Eret entered.
I thought Eret was going to stay neutral, hidden away in his castle? I had expected Niki and Ponk to be here but not the King. Kings were meant to stay neutral so with Eret being here, something was up.
As I walked over, I noticed something shocking. Eret's fluffy brown hair was missing something. "Eret, where's your crown?" The usual gold crown with gems was absent
His face turned grave, looking at me as if I did something wrong. "Dream dethroned me."

I scrunched my brows together, looking towards Niki. She backed him up with a small nod. I could see the hints of sympathy in her eyes when she looked at her tall friend.
Eret stared at me, waiting for me to say something, "What? Did he say why?" Dream hadn't mentioned that this was a part of the plan.
I could see hints of his glowing eyes behind his dark sunglasses. It was slightly intimidating especially paired with his height, "He knew that I was in contact with some of the members of Pogtopia, so he dethroned me." He looked at the ground, "And put George as the new King."
Shock settled through me. Electing George as the King was definitely not a part of the plan, at least as far as Dream told me. But I supposed the man always had a motive for what he did.
I brushed off the shock, placing a hand on Eret's arm. I wasn't sorry that what had to be done was done, but I still showed some sympathy for the man. He was clearly saddened, "I'm sorry, Eret. I had no idea."
He nodded, accepting my comfort. I stepped back, looking at the three of them. We were going to need as much help as we could get, "Okay, there's still plenty for us to do in the couple of hours we have left. So spread out and get working."
They all gave me determined nods, walking towards where Fundy or the others worked.
People ran around through the small area, rushing against what little time we had. Bits and pieces of netherite armor were pulled out, along with diamond. The armor was mismatched but no one seemed to mind.
As our deadline drew closer, I stepped up to an ender chest. The chest was dark green with a yellow latch, emitting small purple particles. I opened it to see the armor and supplies I had put in there last night.
I slid the dark armor over my head, the chest plate resting across my shoulders. It wasn't extremely heavy but was there was a slight pull of it when I twisted. I pulled on the gleaming knee-high boots, the familiar feel of armor settling over me.
Pieces of armor also slid around my wrists, the dark color of the armor rivaling the ones on my wrists. The set danced with an assortment of the most powerful enchantments. I rarely had a use for this armor, but when I did have to use it, it made me feel powerful.
No dents or scratches marred the surface from its rare use. The armor looked as if I had never used it before.
Potions and my sword sheath were clipped to my small belt, adding a slight weight to my stance. It wasn't enough to throw off my balance, as I only took the most crucial potions.
I slid my bow across my back, along with a quiver full of varied arrows. There were normal arrows amongst the stack, along with poison arrows and rockets. I truly had come prepared.
Closing the chest, I walked back towards where people were gathering. There was a slight clink to my walk now from the armor. The sound brought a slight satisfaction to me.
I passed a small makeshift mirror someone had thrown in a corner, stopping dead in my tracks. Not only did I feel badass with this armor, but I also looked it too.
My armor-clad form stood tall, the boots adding to my height slightly. My hood rested loosely over my head, my hair in a tight braid that hung out from the hood. I looked like a villain that had just crawled out from a storybook.

The familiar feel of confidence rushed through me in a wave. It filled its previous empty spot, making me stand a little taller. I smirked at my reflection before joining the small rebellion.
I was the only one other than Techno who was fully decked out. He was wearing the same armor as me, his royal mantle clasped around his shoulders. The gold chain of it stuck out against the dark exterior of his chest plate.
His sword was clipped to his side, partially hidden by his cape. When he turned slightly, I saw the crossbow attached to his back. I tried not to look at it, knowing it was the same weapon that had almost killed Tubbo.
Tubbo now stood next to Tommy and Quackity, all three wearing an assortment of armor. As a matter of fact, the only one not wearing armor was Wilbur.
He stood towards the edge of the group, his arms lazily crossed. There was no weapon attached to him, but I suppose he could have knives hidden anywhere on himself. I should know, after getting stabbed by one of those said knives.
As I joined the group, I made eye contact with him for the first time since he left me to die in this very ravine. I knew that red still stained the floor where it had happened, but someone had washed away my red handprints from the walls.
His eyes were an empty void as I stared at him. I looked away, listening as Quackity spoke. His arms were crossed, "We have to consider something, one of us is still a traitor. One of us is going to backstab."
Silence followed his words, everyone wearily looking around at each other. Techno and I were the only ones who didn't seem bothered by it. We knew it wasn't each other, so we weren't worried.
Wilbur on the other hand wasn't worried but had a strange smile across his face. He pulled his hands out of his pockets, "It's probably me."
Everyone nervously laughed, a tense feeling filling the room. Techno stepped forward, casting his gaze around, "I have the supplies for the Revolution." His eyes snagged on Tommy, "I have been preparing for the past few weeks. We do not lack items, alright?"
Something along doubt mixed with excitement shone on Tommy's face. He didn't fully trust his brother. Techno stepped towards the stairs leading out of the ravine. He glanced over his shoulder, "Follow me."
-
Our small group now stood outside of the base, following the pink-haired man towards the lake. Ghost stuck to my side, the armor that I had attached to his back gleaming in the light. Antfrost, Skeppy, and Bad had joined us.
Techno stepped towards the edge of the lake, dropping his red cape onto the ground. Without hesitating, he waded a few feet into the lake. People glanced around at each other, slightly confused.
The man winked at me, completely disappearing from view. When no one moved, I stepped towards the lake. Water was lapping at the sides from the ripples Techno had sent out.
A hole was dug into the bottom of the lake. From where I was standing it was only a slight drop but the dark water could mess with what I saw. Before following, I waved the group over. Ghost waited patiently by the shore.
I plunged into the tunnel, the water disappearing as I fell. My judgments were correct. It was only a small drop, ending with a small pool of water to catch our falls.
Techno now stood in a small area filled with chests and a bed. I hoped there was a larger space to stand because this area would quickly be filled with the amount we had. Tommy splashed into the room a few moments after me, Tubbo following.
As more people began to come down, Techno pushed open a door. I glanced over my shoulder at Tommy. He gave me a shrug, nodding his head towards the door.
The small room was becoming stuffy with the number of people, pushing me towards the door. I gaped at what I saw when I entered the next room.
-
The room was much larger than the other, cool air brushing against my face. The walls and floors were dark with black brick, making the sight in front of me even more epic. The blue lanterns above bathed the room in an ominous glow.
Chests on chests lined the wall, labeled with an assortment of things. There was a chest for every possible item that we would need. Potions, arrows, food, and weapons.
And at the end of the hall, five sets of shining netherite armor stood on armor stands. Even though there was no person inside the sets of armor, they looked intimidating.
I gaped, stepping towards the hall. Murmurs behind me turned into gasps and cheers. Tommy was the first to rush forward, swapping into the dark armor. Others followed him, digging through chests with huge smiles plastered on their faces.
"Holy shit!" Tommy kept repeating as he jumped from chest to chest.
Techno stood in the middle of the chaos, smirking at them. This must've taken forever to gather. Well, I knew where he was now when I was stabbed.
He spread his arms wide, "Are you ready for the revolution?" Tommy stopped to look at his older brother, his mouth agape in a smile. Techno continued, "Take what you need!"
The man turned to me, giving me a sly smile. I shook my head, laughing, "Holy shit Techno, this is insane." I placed a hand to my head, "I had no idea you were this serious."
He shrugged, still smirking, "I had a lot of free time. And if we want a shot at winning this, we need the proper supplies." He waved a hand towards the chests, "Well, don't you want to get some more arrows?"
I beamed at him, walking towards the chest labeled with an arrow. Quackity had already opened it, scooting over so I could rifle through it with him. I picked out dark-tipped arrows, harming, as well as some weakness ones.
I added them to my quiver, turning around. Amidst the people, Wilbur had his hand on Tommy's shoulder. For a moment, he looked like the old president that I had known.
He looked like Tommy's older brother.
An amazed smile grazed his lips, "Tommy, we have the Blade!" His voice carried through the area, the others erupting in cheers.
Tommy was basically bouncing, raising his sword high in the air. A huge smile was spread across his face. He made eye contact with me and Tubbo, screaming, "We've got the Blade!"
Techno laughed as cheers of rebellion echoed against the walls. Every person stood in netherite armor with enchanted weapons. We looked more like a rebellion now.
-
When everyone gathered what they needed, Techno pointed us in the direction of a ladder. We climbed back up into the afternoon light. It was time to head to Manberg.
As Techno clasped his mantle around his shoulders, I called Ghost to my side. I knelt down to his level, clutching some potions from the basement. They were filled with a deep pink and red liquid.
I uncorked the pots, letting Ghost lick up the strength and healing potions. I had added a long-lasting effect, so he should be all set for the duration of the fight. Colorful swirls floated around him as the liquids took effect.
Our group walked through the forest towards the nation. Tommy, Wilbur, and Techno led the group with me a step behind them. Wilbur had yet to put his armor on. He walked casually with his hands in his long brown jacket. Although now, he had a bow across his back as well as a sword dangling from his side.
He turned his head towards Tommy, "You know the plan, Tommy. If we fail," Wilbur smiled a knowing smile, "it's going up."
Tommy's face turned serious, giving his brother a clipped nod. He didn't say anything as he turned to face forward.
It didn't bother me that there was a chance that Manberg was going to explode. I just hoped that no one was in direct contact with the explosives if they went off. Knowing that Dream had worked with the madman, there were probably stacks upon stacks buried under the nation.
Dream was never one to fall short of people's expectations. He always liked an outstanding performance.
The railroad Tommy had built, floated in the air above us. The three leaders began to climb up the cobblestone steps, the rest of us following.
The previous nervous chatter was dissolved into silence as Quackity spoke up, "This is the last chance for the traitor to reveal themselves."
We all looked around at each other. No one had a guilty expression, but I knew who the traitor was already. I wasn't sure how they hadn't figured it out. It was quite obvious.
When no one responded to the lingering question, Tommy squared his shoulders, "Let's go!" He smiled wildly, motioning for Tubbo and me to come walk with him. The rest of the group followed in our wake.
I kept my face forward and my voice low as I spoke, "Don't forget what we talked about last night."
They both gave me nods. Tubbo seemed more nervous now as Eret's towers loomed in the distance. But Tommy made up for his friend, excitement and energy pouring out of the boy.
Excited conversations and laughter filled the silence as people began hyping each other up. Bad, Skeppy, and Antfrost kept mostly to their own group, taking up the rear. Everyone in the middle chatted with each other, nerves wrapping around us.
I took a deep breath, calming the little nerves I had. My magic was ecstatic in my bones, sending volts through me. I tunneled into it, preparing for the battle.
If everything went right, then this would be the last day that darkness had a mark on this world.
My sword pulsed in my hand as I pulled it free. My magic washed into it, making the sword glow slightly. Magic rushed out into the world around me, small electric currents whizzing about. I was the only one who could feel it.
The railroad made contact with the hill ahead of us, coming to an end. As we approached the back of the tower, Tommy walked backwards to face the group, "Let's win this Revolution boys!"
Loud cheers erupted from the rebellion. I took another breath, calling out with them. Might as well join them.
Our calls of excitement turned into gasps as flaming arrows rained down onto us.
~~~~~
and let the battle begin!
I just wanted to let you all know that the events of the battle will not be exactly like the real one. I hope you all don't mind :)
have an amazing day and make sure to take care of yourself
my first story ^U^
author note: yaaa hurray it’s my first story ^U^ i hope you all like it! all characters belong to my special friends who submitted them!!ok heres the first chapter enjoy ^U^ TL note: Some of you may be wondering why I am translating a story written originally in English, to English. I remember reading this story many years ago, as a teen, and had since dismissed it as a bizarre fever dream. Only recently, through much Googling, did I manage to rediscover it, and as such decided to not only read it again, but fix the author’s many typing issues and share the context of what I remember from its original happening. I believe the story underneath to hold deeper meanings than its strange happenings, but at minimum I hope you will appreciate it for the sheer weirdness of it all. For the best experience, skim it for your first reading and, if you are interested, read more deeply the second time.Some typing is left as-is to preserve what I believe to be authorial intent, or at least necessary effect. If you notice any typing issues I managed to miss, please email them to me at [email protected]
