With the sun streaming in through the window, signalling to me it's morning, I begrudgingly sit up, stretching slowly. I turn my head to my beautiful mate, yes I said it, Layla is my third mate! I am ecstatic, now we can plan a future with each other and hopefully we will both get a happy ending for once. I hear a rustling sound and turn to see Layla stirring awake, she opens her chocolate brown eyes and stares at me with glazed eyes, thinking.

"Good morning, mate" I murmur 

"Morning. So we are mates, officially? What did the Moon goddess say to you?" Layla replies snapping out of her dazed state.

"Yes we are mates, and she just told me we were mates and that I was very lucky and should treat you right" I answer honestly 

"Oh, well that's good" Layla says quietly

"What's wrong?" I ask concerned

"Well she said that I need to break down my walls for you, otherwise the mate bond could break or something about it not helping us stay together" She blurts out, tears glistening in her eyes.

"Why are you so worried? We will be fine, I promise" I reply sincerely

"Okay" She finishes the conversation abruptly. 

"Layla, why did your eyes turn blue and why weren't you acting like yourself?" I ask after a few minutes of silence spent in thought.

"Oh, um...well I have another personality, like a wolf, some sona's have them. Her name is Natasha, she doesn't usually surface unless I'm angry or she really needs to" Layla begins, awkwardly 

"She is like my....I don't know maybe bad side. Not that she is bad, but like we all have a good conscious and a bad one like in the movies with a little angle and demon at the side of their head. Well, most of the time I'm me. She is a little crazy and outgoing compared to me, more of a rebel. But she does help me with gaining new powers, I can learn how to acquire new powers faster and more efficiently then any other sona I know. She is also really funny and nice, you'd like her....I think" Layla continues 

"That's pretty cool, so are you learning any other powers at the moment?" I ask

"No, I don't need to right now" She answers, looking more relaxed.

"You haven't met my wolf Red yet, when we get back home I can show you him" I offer

"Really? That would be amazing, what's he like?" She asks

"Well he is...um dirty minded most of the time. And he has a very short temper, but he is already very protective of you. He was the one who saved you, from the truck" I answer sheepishly

"Wow! I like him already, he would get along with Nat" She muses

"Yeah, so do you want to go see Tom and Eliza?" I ask

"Sure, might as well thank them and then leave" She agrees

"Morning! Thank you for letting us stay and have some of your potion, we promise not to tell anyone" I greet Tom and Eliza

"Hello, so did you get your answers?" Eliza asks eagerly

"Yeah, we did. And we are officially third mates" Layla answers for me.

"So we'll be heading off now. Our families will be worried about us" I announce 

"Okay, have a safe trip." Eliza says waving. I turn to see Tom, moving as far away as possible from Layla, his eyes trained on her. He is hunched over in the corner of the kitchen, looking like a small frightened dog.

We hop in the car, and head home. I hold on to Layla's hand and she grasps it tightly, like she's worried I'll leave. Like that's ever going to happen, now that I know we are mates I'm not letting her go. We still have to work out where we are living, and I don't know if she will be ready for me to mark and mate her, but now that Red also knows we are mates he is very eager for us to complete the mating process. 

Soon we pull up outside the pack house, I explain to Layla that I have to introduce her to the pack as my mate. But she refuses, and we compromise that I can tell Lawrence and Susan as long as she can tell Bella and Jack, her other best friend.

"Hello Beta Liam. How was your trip?" Liana asks 

"Great, where is Alpha and Luna?" I ask

"In their study" She replies

"Okay, thanks Liana" I call pulling Layla along to the study.

"Hello, Alpha Lawrence and Luna Susan" I say once opening the study door and seeing them in big comfy chairs, reading silently.

"Oh hello Liam" Susan replies looking up from her book.

"Hey Liam, who is this?" Lawrence asks gesturing to a red faced Layla.

"This is my third mate, Layla!" I whisper shout, excited to share the big news.

"Oh, wow! I'm so happy for you" Susan says hugging me and Layla.

"Great job man. You finally got your girl" Lawrence says patting me on the back.

"Thanks" I reply pulling Layla to my side, she visibly relaxes and I smile proudly.

"Awww. You guys are so cute" Susan gushes 

"Okay, baby maybe let's let them settle into their room first then you can coo all you want" Lawrence says saving me and Layla for the time being.

"Our room, like Liam and I are sharing?" Layla asks shocked
