"Hey, Boss. You called me?" I said as I entered his office, closing the door behind me.

"Yes Mia," Boss closed the document he was reading, then he leaned back on his chair. "I have a mission for you." He said with his devilish smirk that I soon had as well, as I figured what he meant.

So, after I left to start a new life for new me. I was roaming the streets in Los Angeles with no destination in mind nor a single clue of my next move.

After my whole life chattered in front of me and I couldn't do anything to save it, I just stuffed some of my clothes with valuable stuff in my bags and brought out the 700,000 dollars that I was hiding and went straight to LA not knowing why I chose this destination or what I will do after that. All I knew that I wanted to get the hell out of New York and start new.

But I am really glad that I chose LA cause that made me get to know Boss who helped me to be the new me that I am proud of now.

Boss is his name, yes he has a true name but no one knows it. He goes by Boss here. Also, he is our gang leader so the name suits him anyway. He is 45 years old, but don't let the age fool you cause his looks tell that he is still in his thirties and his attitude and health also show that.

When I first came in LA I kept walking through the foreign streets with no damn idea where I am going or what the hell I was going to do. However, Boss found me in a dark alley, curling in the corner on the ground with my bags sobbing, then he took me with him.

I can never erase that day out of memory and will always be grateful for him.

"What are you doing sitting in a place like that on the ground girl?". A husky and dangerous voice echoed in the narrow dark alley that I felt trapped with that dangerous person.

I lifted my head looking to the tall man with dark eyes and I felt shivers run down my spine.

"I... I don't have a place to go to." I said in a very low voice that I thought he won't hear me but he actually did.

"Then come with me." He ordered. "This isn't a safe place for a child like you." With that last sentence, he left heading to his dark car and I found myself following him not knowing what else to do.

I won't lie I was afraid as hell but he treated me very nicely and didn't bug me with questions or anything.

Then after he gave me something to eat and drink he explained to me who he is.

"So after you know who I am and what I do I--".

I cut him off. "I want to work with you."

He smiled a tight-lipped smile, raising a brow as he crossed his arms under his chest with proud eyes scanning me. And after that night I knew that everything will really change with his help. I knew that with this man, I can fear nothing!

I didn't know if it was a good idea or not to take a part in something dangerous like that but after Boss took me in. He treated me as his own child that he never had and trained me so well making me gain self-confidence and be fearless.

To say that I was the best in his gang members will be an underestimate because I was the top and he saw my potential that I was his legal heiress to the leader position and everyone in the gang, yes were older than me but respected me nonetheless; because I was stronger than them in so many aspects and I learn everything fast, doing it better.

Boss was the father that I never had and I was grateful that he found me that day.

As I returned back from my mission that consisted of killing some mother fuckers, I decided to chill a bit in our HQ with my best friends who came to work in the gang as well after I joined a couple of months.

Jane and Damon, they both are of the same age as me. They were neighbors and became best friends as they were family friends as well. One day their families went together to an adults trip and left the two children together at home with a babysitter. Unfortunately, their parents had an accident and the four of them died leaving Jane and Damon to the orphanage.

They had enough of the orphanage shit and escaped then entered our gang when Boss found them as well, and I was never that happy to have them in my life. We were inseparable, they were my family along with Boss who was our father.

"Why is the house so quiet like that?". I asked them both as I kept my eyes stuck on the Tv screen, laying lazily on the armchair my legs hanging from its arm.

"They all went to an important big mission." Damon said from the sofa, eyes focused on the Tv as well.

I quickly straightened up and yelled, " why the hell aren't we with them?"

"You know Boss Mia, he still doesn't want to risk taking us to those big missions. He thinks of us as his kids." Jane said as she laid her head on Damon's lap, watching the film playing on the Tv screen.

Yeah I know Boss still fear take us to those kind big missions, as he wants to protect us but I want to take some part in the big action and be by his side, he is my unbiological dad after all!

But, because We are the youngest in the gang and all of them are older than 27, so he always insists on protecting us and keeping us for the small safe missions.

As I was in my own thoughts frustrated by Boss' decisions, Damon snapped me out of it by bringing my attention back to the tv.

"Damnit. Mia, look!". He said pointing at the Tv screen.

My eyes widened in disbelief at the headline."Turn the damn volume up!"

"Breaking news! The most dangerous gang in LA and its rival were being caught by the police just now, as they were in the middle of a heated fight which included guns, and as the police headed there, There were so many gunshots from both gangs and the police. Many people died from all of the three side, and who is still alive is being sent to the jail in h--" The tv reporter kept rambling and I couldn't believe what I was hearing nor seeing.

It can't be!

"Hurry up we gotta go see Boss!" Damon shouted at us snapping both Jane and me from our own daze. We wasted no time as the three of us ran to the car, heading to the jail.

After a very long quiet car ride full of tension and nervousness we finally arrived at our destination.

We didn't park the car properly nor locked it. We ran out of the car at the same time heading inside with one thought in our head 'we hope Boss was okay'.

The place was filled with many reporters, police officers and many other people.

It was hectic.

We kept looking for Boss in the cells not giving a damn about any officers who were concentrating on appearing on the damn news.

Until we found him.

"Boss!" Jane yelled. Pointing our attention to where she was looking.

And we immediately ran to him.

"B..Boss why are you here? Get out now. You can't be here." Jane cried while talking not able to lock her tears, seeing Boss in that state.

Jane was always so kind and soft to the people she loves but when the girl wants to be a damn demon she can be and beats the crap out of you with her dark scary eyes.

"Shh.. my little one. I am okay, don't worry about me." He comforted her while wiping her tears. "Damon take her out of here."

"B.. but Boss i-". Damon argued as sadness mixed with confusion settling in his eyes, combined tears threatening to fall.

Damon is a very strong man. He has a good built, huge bulk body for guys of his age. But when he cares about someone he won't hide it and will do whatever it takes to help them. Unlike with strangers, he beats their asses so hard and he never gets scared.

"Now Damon!". Boss ordered while giving Damon his hardest glare.

"Yes, boss." Damon answered, taking sobbing Jane in his embrace as they made their way out.

Boss looked at me with a very strange emotion in his eye that I never saw on him before.

He was scared.

"Boss..". I whispered, not knowing what exactly to say.

"Mia my first child and the strongest among all of them." He said as tears started to form in his eyes.

"It's the end, Mia. It's our gang's legacy end." He said and my heart broke, hearing the sad and desperate tone of his voice.

"No Boss, there is still hope. yo-". I said hope coating my voice as I held his hand tightly, feeling that if I let it go he will disappear.

He cut me off. "Mia! You know it the same I know it that there is no getting out of it this time." He was right. I know he is right.

Damnit! I know so well that he is right. But I can't just not fight for my family, I can't stop that voice in me that was still in denial.

I.. I just can't!

I was going to argue and say something when he cut me with his hand in the air stopping me.

" just listen to me. I want you, Jane and Damon to get out of here and go to New York. Take all the money in the safe and start a new life. Finish your senior year there and be something big and good in the future for me."

I was shocked by what I was hearing that I felt my voice was gone. New York? He wants me to go back to New York after everything that happened?

He took a deep breath and continued. "Mia all the gang members either are dead or here with me and you know our end will be death".

He let a tear fall then continued." I know what you are thinking of, Mia. But just remember that you are not the same old Mia anymore. You aren't the same old fragile Mia that I first met and found in the alley. I know they broke and hurt you so bad but you are stronger now and have Jane and Damon by your side. You will take down anyone who tries and bring you down again."

"B..But Boss please.." I pleaded, still trying to process the situation.

"Mia just do as I say and hurry up now because the police will be heading to our HQ now and I want you three to be out of LA before they arrive." He let another tear fall.

I never saw him that weak and fragile. I think it was really the end this time.

"Just go now Mia and remember you are a strong and confident woman that no fucker can bring you down anymore whatever happens." He said while squeezing my hand and I nodded looking in my unbiological father's eyes one last time before I go. Before he goes.

I got out running. Telling Damon and Jane to pack our things while I pack the money and we finished then headed to our car.

In the car ride, none of us dared to talk. Damon and Jane were silently crying while I drove thinking how our life fell apart that fast when we finally found our real home.

I couldn't cry, I didn't know how to cry anymore. The last time I cried was the day I met Boss and decided to join the gang and I promised myself after that day that I would never shed a useless tear again, whatever happened.

And that was the result, I was now numb, feeling nothing except sadness and anger that they seem will never leave me now as I was returning to the place that broke me and killed the old me.

Guess I will wait and see what is waiting for me at this shit hole now.
