"Mia honey!" Layla squealed as soon as she glanced me entering the house pulling me in a tight hug." I missed you so much. I am glad you came."
"I missed you too a lot."
"Now mom that's enough hugging. Let her breathe from that suffocating hug." Jason grumbled trying to grab Layla's arms and break her warm embrace.
"Shush kid! Let me make up for the lost time." Layla slapped Jason's arm gently.
"Just ignore him, Aunt Ly, you know how much he gets jealous of me when you shift all your attention on me instead of him," I said proudly with a teasing smirk directed to Jason.
"You got that right honey." She laughed." Now go change in Jason's room like old times and come back to grab something to eat. I made your favorites today."
Change in Jason's room?
Like old times?
Damn, why didn't I think about it!
"Well you know me when it comes to food Aunt Ly, it won't take me a second to change and come rape all that food."
"Oh I missed hearing Aunt Ly from you and I definitely missed your bad jokes that make me crack in laughter." She cooed then laughed while heading to the kitchen.
I turned to look at Jason who had an amused look and playful smirk on his face.
"What?" I looked at him in confusion.
"I missed seeing you here in my house."
I rolled my eyes at his cheesy statement as he laughed. I know most girls would blush after hearing that with seeing the admirable look on his face but it just sounded silly to me. maybe because I can't react or respond in those situations?
"I know you find those statements silly babe." He kissed my cheek."That's why I say them, to annoy you." He winked and I rolled my eyes again!
"You know I will change in your bathroom while you change in your room," I started making my way upstairs to the bathroom in his room.
"What now? Mom said like old times! Meaning we change in the same room like old times!"
"Yeah, that was in the past when we were children and nothing happened."
"You are so mean!" He groaned. "And I thought I would see you naked."
"Yeah maybe in your dreams."
"You don't even need to tell me. I dream about you every sleep nak--"
I tripped him in front of his room making him lay flat on the face before he could continue his statement resulting for him to groan in pain. "Perv!"

"Your perv." He blew a kiss still laying on the ground on his stomach.

"Ah, I am so full but I still can't stop eat," Marcus said while stuffing his mouth with another one of Aunt ly's awesome fried chickens.
"I know me too. But don't worry uncle Rocks I won't ditch you and will continue stuff my stomach with that damn good food with you." I assured him reaching for another slice of homemade pizza and re-fill my plate with lasagna that was stuffed with cheese and chicken. Damn, I love Aunt ly's food so much!!
How have I been living those past years without it?
I have no freaking idea.
I also started calling Marcus with uncle Rocks again.
I know its a strange name but believe it or not that's his middle name. Marcus Rocks Williams. I find it kinda cool.
And he doesn't like it at all so I have been calling him that since I was young to annoy him but eventually it stuck and he got used to it from me.
"I have no doubt in that Mia. That's why you are my favorite kid." He gave me his warm smirk as I chuckled.
"For god's sake dad I am your damn child from your own blood here and you already replaced me!" Jason whined from beside me as I smiled teasingly and proudly at him.
"I didn't replace you, son. Mia was always my favorite Kid, you are my second thou don't worry." Uncle rocks said then bit his steak.
"Oh, I feel loved from my own parents." Jason jocked pouting folding his arms across his chest.
"Don't be such a whiny baby Jason and if you finished your food come and help me bring the cold drinks and let them continue." Aunt ly stood up making her way towards the kitchen.
Jason sighted feeling defeated and I felt bad for him. Not really actually! I enjoyed seeing him like that but I kinda felt like lifting his mood up after we all have been teasing him.
"Don't worry you will always be my favorite kid," I whispered to him winking as his face lit and eyes sparkled with his smirk growing like a little kid that had just opened his Christmas gifts and I chuckled at his reaction.
He is such a big baby!
How the hell will he raise kids?
He then kissed my cheek running to help his mother while Uncle Rocks was long gone swallowing the delicious food not giving us any of his attention as he concentrated it all on the food in front of him.

That he was gonna finish all alone without me!!!
"Slow down and Leave me some Uncle Rocks!" I groaned fastening my eating and swallowing skills to savor everything on that delicious table.
"Well, it's not my fault that you were wasting time here flirting and kissing with Jason." He said casually not lifting his eyes from his food and stuffing his mouth more, surprising me with his remark.
"You know Jason and his baby moods uncle Rocks I was just lifting up his mood." I shrugged innocently.
"That I definitely know about my whiny ass son." He said pointing at me with the fried chicken in his hand.
We both chuckled then began stuffing our mouths with Layla's delicious yet amazing food.
This woman has some magic fingers here I am telling ya!
I really like the Williams company.
I always felt warm and safe with them.
It felt in home eating, chatting and laughing with them.
They are literally the only family I got after mom.
Uncle Rocks was the father I always wanted to have despite my real father being alive and breathing but Uncle Rocks was always closer to me having this strong father-daughter bond with me.
We had so much in common. Like our cursing tongues so much since I was young that Aunt Ly got used to it by now and our big stomachs that can literally eat a whole army's food.
It felt easy talking to him without feeling embarrassed from anything, and of course Aunt ly too.
We were sitting now in the living room watching movies and eating snacks with different drinks.
It felt normal and as we were a real family.
Something I had truly missed since I left.
Uncle Rocks was now long gone in a deep sleep.
As soon as he laid on the sofa he was knocked off. A habit which is normal to him as it always happened to him after he ate that much.
While Aunt ly was sitting on the other sofa beside me as I laid my head on her lap with her stroking my hear gently. Something she always loved to do to me whenever I crashed over at them. And I really didn't mind, it felt as it was my mom who was touching me so gently and I was laying on her lap safely. She reminds me a lot of my mom. Maybe because they were best friends for so long.
Jason was sitting on the bean bag holding my hand in his and Layla cooed at the gesture saying her ship was sailing.
I tried to snatch my hand from his but he didn't budge and held it tighter so I gave up and let it be.
"Ugh, nature calling." Jason groaned standing up." I have to pee." He started jumping like a little kid that has been holding it for too long making his way to the bathroom while Aunt Ly and I burst in laughter.
After we calmed down and a moment of silent Aunt Ly started talking.
"You know you really brought the joy again to our lives?" She said calmly stroking my hair. "We hadn't spent family time together since you left and Jason always was grumpy never laughed, always holding your last picture together." She paused looking at me as I looked at her in confusion and disbelief then she smiled warmly a tight-lipped smile nodding her head." Really I am not exaggerating. Our home and life felt so empty without you, especially Jason's."
Somehow I didn't believe it at first but the genuine smile and the look in her eyes with the tears forming made me believe how much she meant it.
And I felt happy that I was that important to them as they were to me.
They were my family.
With them, I felt at home.
I straightened up sitting beside her looking at her teary eyes and catching the lone tear that slipped from her eye. "Don't cry Layla you are my second mom and seeing you like that breaks my heart."
She nodded clearing her eyes." I don't know why you left or where you have been and what you have been doing but I wish if you really considered me as your mother so please come and talk to me about anything that bothers you. And if you ever needed anything you can come and ask us without hesitation even if you wanted to live here. it's your home, after all, honey." She said cupping my cheek gently.
"I know Layla and its really my home. You guys are my home. Whenever you are I feel safe and at home, also I promise I will tell you everything happened with me tomorrow." I said honestly reassuring her as she squeezed my hand tightly nodding.
"Hola dear sister!" A high pitched familiar voice erupted from behind us breaking our moment.
Wait!
Sister?

Greene's Monthly Contest
most writers don't have enough recognition. most of them only win awards based on the general aspects of a story; genre or theme, judged by the same things, not appreciating the genius behind the chapters. same awards, same results.--and we disagree with that.
