~Y/N POV~
It was the evening now and we'd already eaten dinner. Karasuno had only managed to win one set today so a lot of them were pretty bummed out.
That is, except for Noya, Tanaka and Hinata who sat with me at a small table surrounded by Bokuto, Kuroo, Akaashi, Kenma, Lev and Yukie.
Bokuto and Kuroo sat next to eachother, harassing a confused Lev while Kenma sat in silence on his switch.
"LEV JUST PICK UP THE CARDS!" Kuroo exclaimed as Lev finally gave in, picking up four cards from the uno deck.
Noya and I had our backs rested against eachother with Tanaka facing Noya and Yukie facing me.
Akaashi sat next to Kenma, seeming more interested in his video game then the game of uno which was descending into chaos.
"AKAASHIIII ITS YOUR TURN!" Bokuto exclaimed once him and Kuroo were finished attacking Lev.
"Fine," Akaashi sighed, placing down a blue four and making Hinata squeal.
"No, I don't have any blue cards!" he exclaimed, sulking and taking one from the pile.
"Oi wifey, you ready?" Yukie asked, winking as she pulled a card from her deck.
"You know it babe," I replied, winking at her as she placed down a blue +2.
"Hahaha, now your wife betrayed you!" Noya exclaimed as I smirked and placed down another +2.
"HAHA THAT BACKFIRED ON YOU BUDDY!" Tanaka exclaimed as he clutched his gut from laughing so hard.
Just then, Noya looked straight at Tanaka, freezing his laughing fit in one second.
"You're one to talk," he smirked placing down yet another +2 as Tanaka let out a loud wail and fell to the ground.
"Oo, that's brutal," Kuroo exclaimed, cringing as Tanaka hesitantly pulled six cards from the pile.

"My turn my turn," Bokuto squealed, putting down a skip card.
"Oh no, someone needs to teach this owl with frosted tips a lesson," Kuroo exclaimed, angry that his turn was skipped.
"So you wanna talk hair huh?" Bokuto mocked, sticking out his tongue and pulling one eye down.
"BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP SO LEV CAN GO!" I yelled, slamming my hand on the table to make the power duo shut up.
"WHAT IS GOING ON IN HERE?" someone yelled as the door was slammed open, and an angry looking Daichi appeared at the door.
"AGGHHH ITS DAICHI!" Noya exclaimed, diving behind me and cowering like a little baby.
"How is it that you have not one, but TWO captains in here and we can here your ruckus in the team rooms upstairs?" Daichi sighed, looking between Bokuto and Kuroo who dramatically sulked before him.
"Sorry Daichi," they both sobbed sarcastically, bowing before him as he rolled his eyes.
"Yea yea whatever. You guys should really pack it up though, people are starting to fall asleep," he instructed.
"But Daichiiii, i'm about to win!" I begged, giving him puppy dog eyes as I held up my two cards.
"Fine, fine. You can play until 10:30, but keep it down!" he demanded, giving in as Kuroo, Bokuto and I pleaded for more time.
"YES SIR!" we all said in unison as he left the room, slamming the door behind him.
"Now, where were we?"
~Noyas POV~
"UNO BITCH!" Y/N yelled as she slammed a red card down on the desk, making Bokuto gasp in agony.
"QUICK, SOMEONE STOP HER!" he exclaimed as I hurriedly put down another red card.
"NO STOP WITH THE RED!" Tanaka yelled as he plucked a card from the spares, collapsing once he looked at it.

"Didn't you pick up 6 cards last time? Surely you must have a red card by now," Hinata asked the bald boy who was slumped over on the floor.
"Shut it ginger or I'll tell Kageyama not to set to you!" Tanaka yelled back as Bokuto placed down another card.
"UNO!" Kuroo yelled, tying himself for the lead.
"NO STOP IM SUPPOSED TO WIN!" Y/N shrieked as Lev placed down a plus two, and Akaashi picked them up without a second thought.
"HINATA SWITCH THE COLOUR! I BET SHE HAS A RED!" I yelled as Hinata frantically scanned through his cards.
"IM SORRY I CANT!" he yelled, throwing a red 3 onto the messy pile.
"YUKIE C'MON YOU'RE OUR LAST HOPE!" Tanaka begged as she narrowed her eyes at Y/N, smirking and placing down a plus four card.
"YES YUKIE!" the entire room exclaimed as Y/N scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"I win."
"NOOOOO!" the room yelled, energy immediately shifting as Y/N placed down another plus four, throwing her hands up in victory.
"HAHAHA EAT MY DUST!" she yelled, standing up and dancing around the room in the hoodie blanket which she still had on.
If only Tendo was here to sing for us😣💔
"" Daichi screamed, barging into the room and striking terror into each of our hearts.
"This is it, we're doomed!" Tanaka wailed as he threw his cards on the table and collapsed.
"No! I'm too young to die!" Hinata cried as his entire body started to shake.
"Off to bed, all of you!" demanded an angry looking Suga who appeared behind the fuming Daichi.
"Yes mother," Y/N muttered as she huffed and pulled Yukie up.
"I'll text you," she whispered in my ear as she followed Bokuto and Akaashi out of the room, and Suga and Daichi waited for the rest of us.
"Hah, you're totally falling for eachother," Tanaka exclaimed as he rammed his elbow into my side, and Hinata stood up and looked over me.
"Nuh uh, we are not!" I exclaimed as I clutched my ribs and swatted at him.
"I don't know Noya it does seem like you have a thing for he- OW!" Hinata exclaimed as I kicked him in the shin before being pulled off the ground by Daichi.
"Kuroo, take your players back to your room while Suga and I deal with these three," Daichi instructed as Kuroo smirked and led Kenma and Lev out of the room.

Something I want to mention though is that the main character starts of pretty wimpy, and that might not be your thing. That being said, if you stick with him he's got a long way to grow. Also, while this version of the story is meant to be fully readable, more dicerning readers may want to wait until I move out of rough draft phase. There may be some inconsistancies with character and plot while I am still in the rough draft phase. I'm sorry for this, but this is my first web novel and from what I've read the best way to get a good novel out is to write write write, and then edit ruthlessly after you're finished with the book, so that's the plan I'm going to follow. Again, this is a rough draft. Everything you are reading is subject to change, including the name, title, and cover photo. This may no longer be the case once I've decided I know where this fiction is going and I have a reasonable understanding of the characters and their behavior. You're reading what comes off my keyboard as it's made, with very limited editing. There will be mistakes in the text. I do a quick spell check to take out the worst of the errors, but there will be some I miss. However, all his training and experience might come way short as the world sinks in war and chaos with different races and clans fighting for the Star of Bardan, the ward rumored to possess enough supernatural power to create and destroy entire worlds. *** I just changed the name of the series, from 'the Nexus' to 'the Core'. Somehow it just sounds more right to me. This is the first story, and it has a medieval fantasy setting. But, eventually, this is going to turn into Isekai series with elements of LitRPG. So, my future books might include worlds with advanced technologies that might be more in SciFi, including Steampunk, genre. The first book might start slow, but after a few chapters, it should all be properly set up, and by then you should get the feel of how it will all flow. Also, I plan to introduce different story threats that should spread out and criss-cross in the future. Hopefully, I will not complicate it too much, and that it will all read good. I am planning to continue to add chapters to the main storyline here, but I'm also starting a new story threat in the Core series called The Recordings of Raan. There is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.
