~Y/N POV~
"AHHHH, ITS NO EYEBROWS!" I shrieked, hiding behind Tsukkishima as a team entered the gym.
"Get off me," he said sternly, walking away as I stuck my tongue out.
"Y/N, you knew we were playing Date Tech. So you knew he would be here, right?" Hinata asked, cocking his head.
"Hey! I knew we were playing Date Tech I just didn't know which team that was!" I exclaimed, crossing my arms when I spotted someone in the group.
"KOGANEEEE!" I cheered, running forwards and giving him a high five.
"Y/N! Hinata! Tsukkishima! Hey!" he exclaimed, spotting the other two.
"Y-Y/N? H-how do you k-now him?" Yachi stuttered, cowering behind my shoulder as she looked up at the tall boy.
"Oh, Hinata, Tsukki and I met him at training camp!" I exclaimed.
"Leave me out of this," Tsukki sighed as I rolled my eyes.
"Ignore Tsukki! He's still salty Hyakuzawa is getting to be better then him," I snickered as Kogane simply nodded his head.
"It's good to see you, but why is your setter staring at me like that?" Kogane asked as I peaked behind him too see Kageyama giving him a hard stare.
"I'd being lying if I said I didn't know. He probably thinks of you as competition but just ignore him, kay?" I asked happily, skipping towards the bench as Kogane got a quizzical look on his face.
"Alright! Listen up!" Ukai exclaimed as the team gathered around. "Date Techs blocking has gotten better since the prelims. It's now at a national level, so get used too those walls!"
"Eek, I'm glad I don't have to play against them," I whispered to Noya, eyeing the tall guy with white hair.
"See, these are the times when I really like not being able to spike," he snickered, walking onto the court.
"AGHHH, THAT REALLY IS A WALL!" I shrieked as the first toss went up for Asahi, getting completely shut out.
"No m-matter how hard I t-tried I c-could never get p-past that," Yachi shivered as Kiyoko flipped the felt number over.
"I guess they really have improved," Kiyoko thought out loud, placing her hand under her chin as Hinata managed too get in a quick attack.
"They're totally insane!" I shrieked as they managed to shut out another quick attack on the right side.
"I d-don't think it's the same technique, b-but the way they're slamming the b-ball back down reminds me of the g-guess monster," Yachi thought out loud as Karasuno's attacks continued to be stopped.
"You mean Tendou? I guess, but he relied on intuition! These guys are reading everything and getting there in time!" I exclaimed, resting my head on the scoreboard as I stood behind it.
"Yes. Tendou used guess blocking, where as Date Tech uses read blocking. They use the same technique as Kuroo and Lev from Nekoma," Kiyoko continued as I watched them play.
"I'd like too see Kuroo play them," I thought out loud as Date Tech's captain used a feint too get around Tsukkishima's block.
"Rolling...thunder!" Noya exclaimed as he dove, getting the ball up and watching it fly.
"Nishinoya! You're in the way!" Kageyama suddenly exclaimed as he moved towards the ball.
"Oh no.." I sighed as Tanaka managed too get a kill off, and Noya started too glare at Kageyama.
"You were blocking the back row attackers approach," Kageyama said calmly as Yachi and I perked up.

"Was he?" Yachi asked.
"I don't know. Everyone was moving around so I couldn't tell," Kiyoko stammered as she looked at the court.
"It didn't look like it, but I guess Kageyama didn't want too risk anything," I sighed as Noya nodded his head, retaking his place in the back row.
"K-kageyama seems scary then usual," Yachi shuddered as Tanaka immediately started too say something to Kageyama.
"Pfft, he's always scary," I sighed, running my hands through my hair.
"Yea but, he seems different somehow," Kiyoko added as he set Tsukki up who got a waterfall ball in past the block.
"Well he sure seems to be having an affect on Kogane," I snickered, watching the young setters reaction too Kageyama.
"Excuse us! We're here too cheer on our underclassmen!" someone shouted from the doors.
"Oh my fucking god," I swore under my breath, seeing those three third years from Date Tech standing at the door, banner and all.
"We'll watch from up top!" the one with black hair announced as they climbed up the ladder and tied the banner.
"Someone take way their pom poms before I pom pom their faces," I grumbled, earning a laugh from Kiyoko and Yachi.
"That's the first time I've ever seen alumni come too cheer for a practice game," Kiyoko laughed as the rowdy third years yelled at the new captain.
Suddenly, I heard yelling from the court and turned my head to see Kageyama glaring down Asahi.
"AYO KAGEYAMA JUST TOLD OFF ASAHI!" I exclaimed as Kageyama began too give Asahi criticism, earning stares from the entire team.
Most likely because of that, coach Ukai called a timeout and of course, Tsukki took the opportunity too rough him up.
"Well, well, it's the return of the king," he snickered as Kageyama furrowed his brow.
"I'm sor-"
"You know what?" Hinata exclaimed, remaining calm as he interrupted Kageyama. "Who cares if he's the king or not?"
"Ginger! Don't get yourself murdered!" I called out as he waved me off.
"Honestly, if I don't like what he says, I won't listen!" Hinata exclaimed as I facepalmed.
"Me too! I won't listen if I don't like his tone," Tanaka agreed as Tsukki snickered and cleaned his glasses.
"He's only strict when it comes too his teammates," Suga sighed, raising an eyebrow as he and Daichi watched the event unfold. (i just sit back and observe😗🤏🏼)
"See! We don't care, king or not! Isn't the king supposed to be cool anyways?" Hinata asked, pouting his lips as he motioned too be placing a crown on his own head.
"How much you wanna bet Hinata doesn't get out of this alive?" I asked Yachi as she giggled, watching Kageyama glare at the ginger.
"The best toss is the one that's easy too hit! Find out what that is!" Ukai suddenly exclaimed, interrupting the small dispute going on.
Asahi then appeared too say something to Kageyama in a hushed voice, covering his mouth as he spoke.
"Yea! Bring it on!" Tanaka cheered, swinging his dominant arm around as Hinata started laughing and ran past him.
"Okay, that was a lot more boring then I thought it would be," I huffed, leaning my arms across the scoreboard once again.
"You think anything is boring if it doesn't end in a fight," Kiyoko laughed as the boys retook their places on the court.
"Hey! You're not attacking down the middle! Are you scared?" Hinata suddenly exclaimed, glaring at Kageyama.

"Oh yea! Here we go," I snickered, watching the two bicker as Kiyoko and Yachi looked at the notebook we use too keep track of the plays.
"Actually, he's right. Kageyama hasn't used those attacks much," Kiyoko pointed out as she reviewed the data.
"So..Kags is actually scared?" I asked, tilting my head too look at the boy.
"Like I said before, he seems different. I wonder if something happened at the youth camp," Kiyoko thought out loud, going over the data once more.
-
"The setters the most dominant role! The setters best!" Hinata exclaimed as the game ended, waltzing towards Kageyama while trying too smooth his hair down.
"No matter how hard you try to act like a goody two shoes, you'll always be a king! From now on, you're known as the new King of the court!" Hinata cheered, jumping up and placing a towel crown on Kageyama's head as I burst out laughing.
"HINATA, WHY DOES YOUR TOWEL HAVE A CORGI ON IT?" I cackled as Kageyama whipped the towel at Hinata, knocking him over.
"HEY! It's cute!" he shot back as I placed my hands on my knees, trying to regain my composure.
"Y/N! Stop laughing! Nishinoya would you knock some sense into her- never mind," Daichi sighed, scolding me and turning too Noya and Tanaka who were also dying of laughter.
"I'm... I'm sorry! It's just- HAHAH that was so serious... and there's a CORGI on the towel," I gasped, standing up and wiping a tear from my eye.
"She's right! That's pretty funny," Tanaka breathed, clutching his stomach.
"Just shut up already," Ukai snickered as I massaged my cheeks which hurt from smiling so much.
"I'll do everything I can too become the best setter," Kageyama declared as the team rounded up, basically ignoring Tanaka, Noya and I as we tried too stifle our laughs.
"So, the King is a sweet little kid huh?" Tsukkishima asked slyly as Hinata jumped on his back.
"TSUKKI! Grow up!" he exclaimed as Tadashi pulled him off Tsukkis back.
"You're STILL mad about earlier?" Tanaka cackled, crossing his arms.
"You should've seen that coming," Suga chimed in.
"Guess read blocking!" Noya continued as Ennoshita slapped his head.
"Don't complicate things," he scolded as I pointed at Tsukki.
"See! You are pissed saltyshima," I snickered, earning more laughs from Noya and Tanaka.
"Oh shut up. You couldn't stay quiet even if you wanted too," he scolded as I scoffed and cross my arms.
"Me? BE QUIET? I could totally..do it!" I exclaimed, hesitating on the last part.
"Y/N, let's not tell lies," Tanaka snickered as I flicked him in the forehead.
"Fine, starting now I'll be quiet until Date Tech leaves," I declared, shutting my mouth tightly and crossing my arms.
"So, is now a good time too remind you how short you are?" Tsukki snickered as I kicked the back of his knees.
Somehow I'd managed too last a full three sets without saying a word, and I was currently taking out my anger by roughly scribbling frowny faces onto a piece of paper.
I'm taping this too Tsukkishima's face when this is over.
N E ways, it's probably a good thing I'm not supposed too talk right now because the more they play, the better Date Tech's blocks get. It's pissing me off but at least this way I can't get in trouble for swearing at them😗
On the down side, I'm now unable to ask the Jeffrey Star wannabe what happened too his eyebrows, so I plan on having Hinata do it for me since he was being very confident today.
"Uhm, Y/N, what's that?" Yachi asked, looking at the note I was writing.
"Hmph," I sighed, ripping the page out and shoving it towards her.
"Ginger, please ask snow top what happened too his eye brows. If you don't I will not hesitate to replace you with Natsu," she read off the paper as I smiled brightly.
"Snow top? Oh, you mean the big blocker!" she exclaimed as I nodded my head.
"How much longerrrrr?" I wrote on a piece of paper, handing it too Yachi as Hinata got a kill.
"Kiyoko, Y/N's getting impatient. How long do you think this set will last?" Yachi asked as Kiyoko giggled at my impatient expression.
"Well, we have set point so it should be over soon," she laughed as I leaned over the top of the scoreboard, moving my head side to side to see we were in fact at match point.
I nodded my head happily as the serve went up, and the toss of course, went too Asahi. However, rather then trying too spike through Date Techs block, he hesitated mid air, slamming the ball off their finger tips and making it rebound up too the balcony.
"MAPKAKEHEW!" I squealed, jumping up and down while still trying not too say anything as the whistle blew. Took them a while but they finally managed too win a set against the new and improved Date Tech.
After the boys thanked each-other for the game, and got dressed in their track suits, I ran over too Hinata and handed him the letter.
"Awh, do I have too," he whined as I nodded, shoving him towards the blocker. I crossed my arms and watched as the intention unfolded, only lasting about half a minute before coming back over.
"He says he was born without eyebrows, and like's too be called Ken. He said you'd understand..." Hinata trailed off as I tried desperately too hold back my laughs, scrambling too tear off a piece of paper from the note book.
(Ik Aone doesn't have much of a sense of humour in the show but I feel like he would be a very funny person so 🤠)
"HE'S HILARIOUS AND I'M GOING TO MAKE KOGANE INTRODUCE US NEXT TIME WE PLAY THEM!" I wrote, handing the note off to Hinata who still had a quizzical expression on his face.
I rolled my eyes and pulled out my phone, holding it out when I found a specific tiktok.
"Uh, what's this supposed to be? A ninja robot fighting a vampire tape recorder at stone henge. Who's that in the back? That's my friend Ken. Why is he like that? He's an albino. Oh. Yea."
I tried too contain my laughs as Hinata stared blankly at my phone, cracking a huge smile once it finally clicked.
"OHHHHH!" he exclaimed happily as the final players from Date Tech exited the gym, and Noya and Tanaka came running over.
"OH THANK FUCK!" I exclaimed, wiping a bead of sweat off my forehead as all the words came tumbling out of my mouth.
"THAT'S MY FRIEND KEN! HE'S AN ALBINO!" I exclaimed, pointing out the window as 'Ken' walked passed and Noya and Tanaka burst out laughing.
"How long has she been waiting too do that?" Noya asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Not long!"
"FOR E V E R!"

My Newest, and at the same time, Oldest novel. This is a Rewrite of my very first novel that I begun when I was just starting out. It follows the story of Mark Floyd, a broken man who once tried to do what he thought was right... only to be stabbed in the back and thrown away. Now, pulled into a conflict that spans time and space, Mark has a choice to make; Stand up once more, even if it means facing an unknowable future, or let the Embers of his heart die and sink back into darkness. ----------------------------------- “For gold is tried in the fire, and acceptable men in the furnace of adversity”. Once part of a Special Ops team in the US Army, Mark Floyd thought he had seen the worst that Humanity had to offer. That was until his final mission, one that would leave him a broken and shattered man, betrayed by the Country he served, and abandoned by society as a whole. His dreams filled with nightmares of the ones he failed to protect, mind and memories clouded by booze and more, Mark finds himself stumbling through life without purpose or desire. Life isn't done with Mark yet, however. For as long as even a single ember remains in a persons heart, here is still yet hope for the flames of Passion and Hope to be Rekindled. When the dying embers of Mark's heart catches the eyes of a Being far beyond his understanding, Mark finds himself thrown into a situation not even his years of training could prepare him for. Will this new chance be Mark's hope at both Redemption and Recompense? Or will it simply be the final nail in the coffin for a man already dead to the World? [This is a rework of my very first story. The general story will remain the same, however a few details have been tweaked, the chapters have be Edited better and some chapters have been broken down into smaller chunks for better flow and consistency. The biggest change will be to the System itself; It will be a lot less "Game-like", meaning no stats, levels or similar aspect, though skills will still be present in the form of "Programs". Instead, It'll focus more on the Sigil's nature as super-computers and how they change the world around them. This should make for a much more "natural" and less info-dumpy system.
