《Blood to Love | 3rd year》7- The Date

I yawned and realized people were looking down at me. Blaise and I had fell asleep on the common room couch while reading. I jumped up and shook Blaise frantically.
"Blaise we fell asleep, go to your dorm," I whispered aggressively.
He grunted but rose up and dreadfully walked to his dorm. I headed off to mine as well and began to get ready for my planned date with Ron.
I rummaged through my untidy closet to find the perfect outfit. I found a floral dress that I had just received over the summer from my parents. It was perfect for a date.
I slipped on the dress, some black shoes and put my hair in two braids. I also added light makeup to my face and felt content with my overall look. I internally wished for a girl best friend that could tell me how I look, wish me a good date, and do my hair for me. But I got stuck with Blaise, who couldn't do any of the above properly.
I shoved all thoughts away except meeting Ron outside the Gryffindor common room and trying to not be awkward around him or any of his friends that would be tagging along with him.
My stomach started to lurch as I got closer and closer to the portrait door with the big woman who had a horrid singing reputation.
Ron told me the password beforehand in case he wasn't out yet: "Fortuna Major."
I recited those words and the Fat Lady reluctantly opened the door, as she knew I was a Slytherin. I walked into the common room which was vibrant and full of life; an unfamiliar feeling compared to the Slytherin common room.
I browsed the room, noticing the red plush couches in front of the fire, the bookshelves lined against the walls, and the interesting rugs lying upon the floor with an array of patterns scattered across them. As I glanced around, I failed to notice Ron and his two friends walking down from the boys dormitory. Ron was wearing jeans and a sweater that most likely belonged to Fred or George but overall, he looked very nice. I smiled at him and his friends as they made their way over to me.
Ron was very red in the face as Harry whispered something in his ear. I introduced myself to Harry and Hermione and smiled at them as they did the same. I glanced up slightly at Ron, linked our arms, and began to walk out of the common room. "Don't have too much fun," Harry called out as we exited the room, grinning.
We finally headed to Hogsmeade. After awhile of traveling we arrived, excited and elated. Arms still intertwined, we first stopped at Honeydukes and gathered a variety of candies into a large bag. I paid for all the candy and we went to the three broomsticks for a butterbeer. We sat in the corner booth and chatted comfortably for awhile.
"Ron! You never told me you had more siblings! I have only seen Ginny, Fred and George," I said acting as though he hurt my feelings.
"Well everyone knows my family, I just assumed!" he defended.
"Well when can I meet them?" I joked.
"Oh — er — well..." Ron stuttered.
"Ron I'm just kidding!" I said, sipping my warm drink.

"Oh — right."
"I mean, I would love to meet them eventually but it doesn't have to be any time soon."
"Do you want to go to Zonko's?" He grinned while knowingly changing the subject from my rambling.
I nodded and we made our way over to Zonko's joke shop. We searched around for any interesting items we thought could come in handy and Ron paid for my things. Of course I argued with him but in the end he insisted and I lost the argument.
"I think that was a successful date Ronny," I teased.
"I agree y/n/n (nickname)." He laughed.
We headed back to Hogwarts while talking about Quidditch.
"Well no I don't play, but maybe I will in the future."
"I don't either but I'd like to. It's a bloody fun game," Ron agreed.
We soon arrived back at Hogwarts and he walked me to my common room before saying our goodbyes. I stood outside the common room, too giddy to walk in. I took a couple breaths, composed myself, and began to state the password aloud.
"Pot—" I was interrupted.
"Well, look who we have here," Draco's cold voice pestered.
"Sod off, Malfoy. I'm trying to have a good day."
"Who said you couldn't have fun with me?" He smirked at his own comment.
"First of all, you hate me. Second of all, I would like to go tell my best friend about the amazing date I just had, so if you will excuse me, I am now going inside," I replied, obviously irritated.
Draco grabbed my shoulders and pushed me about an inch back, straight into the wall.
"Don't speak to me like that L/n," he whispered.
"Get off of me, Malfoy."
I glared into his ferocious eyes, trying to break him by making long and fearless eye contact.
"My father will hear about this," he said and chuckled deeply, amused by his own words.
"I'm sure you'd love to tell him about me. How much you adore me and how you can't get the girl that a Weasley can. Now get off before I punch you."
"I'm not not sure you can," Draco spoke, pinning back my arms against the wall while his knee kept the rest of my body in place.
Blaise walked out of the Slytherin common room at that exact moment and Draco flung himself back, far away from me.
"Have a good day," he called sarcastically while cooly strutting down the hall.
Blaise looked slightly down at me with raised eyebrows.
"Y/n? What was that all about?" Blaise confusedly asked.
"Just Malfoy trying to get under my skin, it's not a big deal. But I do want to tell you about my date! Then you can tell me what you and Pansy did!" I replied, becoming excited just replaying the date in my head for the third time already.
I went to Blaise's dorm for a change and his area was surprisingly very tidy. I laid on his bed on top of all of the blankets and he laid beside me. We stared up at the white ceiling, side by side, telling our stories about the day. I started with telling him that I went into the Gryffindor common room, then the shops we went to, what we talked about, and finally that he dropped me off.

Blaise was visibly happy for me, as he supported my decision to go on the date, which made me very thankful for him as a best friend.
"Well, tell me about your day, Blaise," I said eagerly, truly wanting to hear what events partook in his life on this stunning day.
"Well first I went to my dorm, almost had a breakdown because you weren't there to approve an outfit for me, destroyed my closet in the process, cleaned it back up immediately and found a black button up shirt along with black pants and black shoes, of course. After I decided on the outfit I put on some cologne and headed downstairs. Pansy was in a tight green dress and we went to the black lake. We sat there and talked for awhile, then decided to sneak into the kitchens. I got the idea from you and Ron. We had a food fight in the kitchens which was very fun. After that, we hung in the common room and played games laughing the entire time. I mean it wasn't really a date but I had a lot of fun," he said innocently.
I squealed, "Blaise, I'm so glad that she makes you happy! I don't understand it but I'm glad she makes you smile."
We laughed for a few seconds and it soon died out, threatening to get sentimental somehow.
"I don't know if I've ever told you this Y/n but you saved me and I am forever thankful," Blaise complimented.
"Aw Blaise. I love you. I really don't know what'd I do without you."
We sat staring at the ceiling again in a comfortable silence, processing every vulnerable word that we each rolled off our tongues.
I gave Blaise a small nudge and we sat up in sync, grinning at each other's similarities in personality.
"Let's go eat dinner," I finally proposed.
We happily set off the the great hall for a delightful dinner. We were one of the first ones in besides the line of teachers at their wide table. I looked at each one of them, noticing Snape raise his eyebrows at me. I shook it off and sat down at the far end of the table engaging in a conversation about our dates and other random things that are brought up in a teenagers peculiar mind.
When Blaise stopped talking to eat, I glanced around the great hall to find Ron. But once again, Ron, Harry, and Hermione were nowhere to be seen. Blaise seemed to follow my gaze and the frightened expression on my face because he started talking.
"Y/n, do you want to go find them?" Blaise asked, mostly concerned for me.
"Do you think they're okay?" My voice was slightly shaky.
"Yes, they're fine. I'm guessing they are probably just getting into trouble. They do it every year. You know how Harry is."
I gave a minuscule smile and he led me out of the Great Hall. We headed to all possible places that came to mind that we earlier search as well, including: the Gryffindor common room, Myrtle's bathroom, the kitchen, the Astronomy Tower, and any empty classroom. They were still vacant from all of those locations and we finally headed out for the last place we could possibly think of — outdoors.
Blaise following right behind me, tapped my shoulder and pointed. I stopped immediately, my eyes following his finger and that's when I saw Hagrid skipping rocks in the black lake with the "golden trio" perched against a tree, conversing together. I shifted my walking path, now towards the group. I knew Blaise was following me due to the rustling and crunching of leaves every time he took a step directly behind my own footsteps.
We creeped up right behind the tree they were gathered upon and they all whipped their heads in our direction, including Hagrid. Hagrid swiftly wiped away the tears that were streaming down his face and furrowed his brows when he saw us approach.
"Now what are you all Slytherins doing down here wif me and these ol' Gryffindors?" he asked, confused and annoyed by our company.
"Hagrid... sir," I added tensely, "We were just looking for Ron."
"What do yer lot need ol' Ron for?" he questioned.
"Well uh —"
"She is my girlfriend, Hagrid," Ron interrupted, noticing my bad attempt of coming up with an excuse.
I grinned so widely at the label that had just been put on our new relationship. On the other hand, Hermione faintly gasped, shifted a little in the grass, and became seemingly interested in the vast amount of words written throughout the pages in her textbook.
"Girlfriend? Why didn't yer tell me Ron? That's excellent come on over," Hagrid said cheerfully.
Caught off guard, I walked over to Hagrid right outside the dip in the water and stood while Hagrid patted me on the back, though only with one finger to make sure he didn't put too much force, as his body was exceedingly larger than my own.
"Hagrid are you alright?" I asked due to the tears he earlier wiped away.
"Well Buckbeak's been sentenced to death!" He sobbed for what seemed like the hundredth time today.
I stood awkwardly until Hagrid spoke once more, "Sorry bout' that. Yer lot need to get to yer dorms anyways. Thanks for visitin'."
We all hurried along away from Hagrid and back to the castle. It was honestly an odd sight: the 'chosen one', a brainiac, a food-obsessed ginger, a practically bald yet confident Slytherin, and me.
We all approached the school, though awkwardly because we all weren't very good friends. I kissed Ron's cheek then grabbed Blaise to which we ventured off towards the dungeons while the trio went off to the Gryffindor common room.
Blaise and I sat in the common room for hours on end finishing excess amount of homework given to torture us. Through the window where the sun once blinded us, now only displayed black darkness which reflected the atmosphere in the room. Many people sat in groups silently, scratching their heads, filled with distractions and smart thoughts, while also scribbling the first thing that came to mind onto their parchment.
After finishing the potions essay, I had a brief half-asleep conversation with Blaise.
"Blaise, so tired... need sleep... dorm," I muttered.
He laughed at me and headed off to his dorm as well. Once I got to my dorm I passed out on my bed and had a dreamless, peaceful sleep, to my absolute pleasure, of course.

Through Mist, Veil, and Summer
Anna Lawrence is a quiet girl who'd rather sit and write poetry than bustle about with her peers. After an incident resulting in a panic attack and a trip to the hospital, Anna's foster mother sends her to stay with her aunt and uncle for the summer. Upon arriving in the small mountain town of Glenwood, Anna finds herself caught in the machinations of another world on the other side of the fog: warring witches, animal-headed skypirates, and the boldest, bravest, most interesting girl Anna has ever met. THROUGH MIST, VEIL, AND SUMMER is my homage to Studio Ghibli films. It's a fantasy romance with a dash of adventure and a sprinkling of self-contemplation. It's a story that moves a little slower, a little quieter. It is my fourth novel, written between October 1, 2017 and January 6, 2019.

Patchwork System
Notification (cannot be ignored): For being the first being to kill another of its own species after Sublimation, Lyam Aldren is awarded the Title of Cain’s Successor. Let all fear the Kinslayer!!! Lyam Aldren, killer for hire, was just going about his business when he suddenly received a notification from something called the System. Apparently, the entirety of Earth, its denizens and its matter were transported into the world of the System, planted in 'patches' all throughout the infinite world. The world of the Patchwork System is one of challenges, where life is cheap, power is king, and Classes and levels are a thing. In a brutal world, there is perhaps room for a killer with bloodstained hands to find his own way, free of his past. However, his Title and his inherent nature plague him, his fragmented personality laid bare to those with the eyes to see, and if he doesn't become powerful enough to defeat or escape those who would use or destroy him, he will quickly be devoured by the merciless world created by the System. Compared to my previous work, this is a more 'classic' litrpg setup, with clear (if somewhat complex) progression through levels and skill gains, with a 'system apocalypse' setup. Unlike most system apocalypse story protagonists, Lyam is neither a leader nor is he particularly interested in saving his fellow Earthlings. This is a story of a man who is both endangered and set free by the destruction of his old world, as he finds both power, new discoveries, and adventure in a place where his past matters not at all and power is the only language most speak. Later in the story, there will be harem elements, but the first volume is dedicated to Lyam's first months in the System. For those who are more interested in the Heirs of the Hooded King, I am putting it on hiatus as I rework the setting and future story developments a bit.
