《The Luna's Awakening》Chapter 10

I had practiced spear fighting with Rick before and I normally always won since I was smaller. Nick wasn't as buff and tall compared to Rick but he looked like he could be pretty fast so I had to stay light on my feet.
"Begin!" Colleen shouted.
We both swiftly and soundlessly charge forward in wolf speed and began swinging around our long spear's trying to hit the other person. We werewolves had high pain tolerance and could throw stronger hits compared to a human but I was use to taking hard hits thanks to Rick's intense training.
The sound of our spear's smacking against each other as we blocked each attack filled the room.
Clack clack clack.
Each hit sending a small wave of vibration through my body.
From the corner of my eye I could see Colleen's gaze studying us, well mainly me. "Focus more on your speed Lara. Let it take over your body without hesitation."
What the hell was she talking about? I was going as fast as I could, I was using my wolf speed, I couldn't go any faster.
"Uhh. I'm doing that." I said through grunts as I dodged Nicks spear from wacking me on the side of my arm.
Wow this guy was good. He had definitely improved a lot during the years when we use to train together. He was much more faster and agile. His body moved like the wind, soft and freely without a care.
I could see his muscles ripple through his midnight blue shirt down his arm with every move he made.
He made an attempt to do a swift and quick swing at my legs to trip me but I ran and jumped up high. I used my momentum to pin him down with my foot and then pointed the spear at his neck.
1 point for me. I smiled down at him in a triumph smug.
He gave me a frown but it was later replaced with a smirk and I could see the playfulness behind it.
"Still been training I see. Oh Lar I'm just warming up." He chuckled. I rolled my eyes at him trying to ignore the butterflies in my stomach from him saying my nickname.

"Pfft I'm still gonna kick your ass no matter how hard you try."
"We'll see about that."
"Lara your still not focusing hard enough. Dig deeper and concentrate on you movement don't be afraid of letting go of your wolf. Feel the energy flow through your veins" Colleen said.
"Alright but I don't think I can get any faster then that."
"Again" She called as Nick and I began fighting again.
This time Nick moved much more faster then normal wolf speed and strength. He easily dodged every single one of my moves.
I noticed his eyes where starting to glow but they where different compared to the last time I saw them. Instead of his eyes glowing blue they were glowing bright emerald green. What is this? Why where they a different colour.
I was so surprised by his movement and eyes, that I was caught off guard by his foot swinging under my leg causing me to trip up.
I fell with a heavy grunt on the floor. Hitting the back of my head on the floor. When I opened my eyes again to look up Nick was standing over me with his spear's end pointing at my neck.
Damn it. I hate loosing.
I growled at him annoyedly.
"Still hate loosing." He smirked his eyes still glowing bright green.
I smacked his spear away and jumped back on my feet in one swift movement.
"What the hell was that? You moved so much faster then normal wolf speed, almost like a vampire and why are your eyes a different colour to your wolfs?"
"That is my Protector side. My wolf senses are more enhanced when I let this side of me out making me stronger and faster so I was using my Protector speed and agility." He said.
"It's an important trait all protectors have to help them protect their Luna. Lara to defeat him you have to use your True Luna speed, agility and strength. Believe in yourself and don't loose focus." Colleen urged me.
I took a deep breath in and out.
Luna powers where the hell are you.
"Again." Colleen shouted
This time before I charged I closed my eyes, took a deeper breath and focused on my body. I could feel my wolf itching to kick his cocky ass so I let her take a bit of control.

I am not going to loose again.
'Ready?' Nick mind linked me probably wondering as to why I hadn't started yet.
As I replied back through mind link I opened my eyes 'Yes'.
I looked at him and smirked.
I saw a hint of surprise register on his face but it was quickly masked before he came at me. He swung his spear at me but I zoomed passed him at lightning speed and smacked him on his side. Wow what was that? that was faster then usual.
I heard a grunt leave him as he took in my blow. He turned around quickly slightly dazed by my speed, probably not expecting me to move so quick but I could see him getting ready for another attack. As his eyes were still glowing he began throwing more attacks repeatedly at me but this time I swiftly and quickly blocked them. The sides of my vision seem to move more quickly as I moved around. Is this my True Luna speed? This felt incredible. Colleen was right I could feel my blood racing around my body making me feel unstoppable and full of adrenaline.
"That's it keep going Lara." Colleen urge me. Wow I feel so light and fast.
Nick charged at me and lifted his spear to swing down on my but I held mine up horizontally to block it as he pushed down. He was much taller then me so he had an advantage.
"Your wolf's eyes have changed too, they're a nice Amber now. I think I like these ones more" He said the last part smirking while pushing down on my spear thinking he could distract me. I growled at him mustering all my strength I could find and pushed him. But I did more then push him, I send him flying through the air hitting his back against the wall with a large bang. Shit I was not expecting that.
"Excellent! Well done Lara." Colleen said proudly the way a teacher says to their student.
What she's not angry at me?
Meanwhile Nick was at the other side of the room still recovering from the hit. I felt kinda bad because that looked pretty painful.
I decided to walk towards him to see if he was ok. I heard him groaning slightly but I knew he would recover quickly. I couldn't help but giggle at the sight of him.
"Sorry I didn't think I would send you flying through the room." I said while extending my hand to help him up.
"Your lucky Im not human otherwise I would be laying in a hospital bed with every single bone broken in my body." He joked as he stood up and brushed his top and shorts off. He lifted his arms up to stretch them behind his back and ran his fingers through his messy hair.
"Plus that was nothing compared to my Protector training in New Orleans. Man did I feel like shit at the end of each day." He joked with a slight chuckle.
Protector training?
"Wait you went all the way to New Orleans to do Protector training?" I said shocked as we started walking back to Colleen.
"Yea. This Protector stuff is pretty important. I spent a whole year there to complete my final training and only got back recently. I was trained by witches who had taught other past Protectors, man where they old but moved like they were 17 again. It was pretty cool though to be honest, my whole life as a kid I was excited to go."
I opened my mouth to ask him more questions but was cut off by Colleen talking.
"Ok well done Lara. Now that you know a bit more on how to control your Speed, Strength and Agility we can move on to the next step."
"And what's that?" I asked curiously.
"How to manipulate the elements of life." She smiled leading us somewhere new.
I was going to be able to manipulate fire, water and wind. Damn this is so cool!

Orianne was a lover girl, whom some considered a hopeless romantic, but she wouldn't dare let the opinions of others knock her off her pivot. She was a young woman who knew what she wanted, and to her, there was nothing wrong with that. She desired the husband, children, dates, random gifts, trips, family outings, and so on.Some would say the reason she can't keep a man is because her standards are high. Which is a ridiculous take. Yes, her standards may be "high," but that's because her father set the tone. She knows what she wants and how she's supposed to be treated, and if you're not giving her that, then you have to go. Out of the few men she has dealt with, she lets them know beforehand what she wants, and it's not her fault that they choose to lead her on under the impression that they wanted the same thing. Another reason men tend to leave her alone is because she's a woman of status, a woman of her word, and a woman about her business. She handles her own and has her own which tends to bruise a man's ego. When asked what she brings to the table, she has a solid answer. She doesn't just bring herself or her body-that's the bonus-she brings communication, trust, comprehension, stability, submission, commitment, and so on. The main question of the matter is, how will Miss. Orianne react when a 19 year old wants to sweep her off her feet and give her everything she wants and more?𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐲: me

Artemis
"Let them go, Dante." I whip my head to see a small boy standing the clearing with blonde hair and a green cloak hanging from shoulders. He isn't very tall however he holds his stance well. He doesn't seem to be more than Cassandra's age. Maybe 12 at most. I abruptly turn my head back hearing the man holding a sword to my throat chuckling with a sinister grin. "Oh, poor boy, what are you go to do about it?" The yellow teeth gleam as he begins stalking towards the boy who does not look the least bit fazed. I look around at the other men who are following the leader. I pull Cassandra tighter to my back as I take small steps back. I keep my eye trained on the men but also fear for the naive boy. "Do you really want to test me Dante?" He asks raising a single eyebrow. For a minute the men stop their movements. I see their hesitation for fear... Fear of what? I take the moment to stick Cassandra behind a nearby tree. She crouches down while I pull my sword out from its place. "How do you know my name?" The scoundrel raises his sword challenging towards the boy before taking a final step towards him. Then the unexpected happens. The young boy chuckles so darkly. It sounded almost... demonic. All the men instinctively raise their swords. "Oh Dante, I didn't know your name... but you know someone dear to me." "Spit it out boy!" The once grinning man is now looking around frantically. I continue my eyes scanning the small boy. He looks directly me and gives me a small nod before saying one word that caused all hell to breaks loose. "Artemis." Artemis is not an ordinary girl. She grew up in the wilderness after being shunned due to unique abilities and her different physical attributes. Blessed with an ability that scared others, she roams the wild with only her guarded one. That is until she stumbles into a situation that brings her in front of a prince.
