《Love You Despite |Complete ✅|》(5) Small Card II

{UNedited}
The entire ride back home was dead silent. I felt a sense of comfort in it. When we got in the driveway, I felt like I needed to reassure my brother again. He said he's fine but its only been a week since the whole bringing up my past thing. It's been a little awkward between us.
"We're ok right?" I peered at him.
"Yeah, and I'm sorry again about what I said." He glanced at me before turning the car off.
"It's ok, I know it slipped. In that moment I was just shocked is all. I love you, stop apologizing already."
"I love you too." He gave me a small smile.
"Now will you call Leah, I kinda heard your conversation with her." He sighed. They got in to a big argument about commitment.
"I'm not sure of what I want yet, I can't step to her with doubt. If I go there with her it would be pretty serious. Not only for the two of us but for KJ too." He said while we were getting out of the car.
"I understand, just don't expect for her to wait around. I know how you are, you avoid things. Leah will still shine with or without you, and you know that."
"You sound like Mama Laurie." He shook his head smiling.
I smiled back heading into the house behind him.
I slid my hand in my pocket feeling the small card, and blushed a little. The way Adrian makes me feel, I don't know how to explain it. I can still smell his scent on me. This feels like way more than some overly crazed crush, it has to be deeper than that.
I went to my bedroom, Mikey said he needed to go workout, so he went in our home gym. I guess I should call my best friend.

"Hey Sienna are you busy?" I asked as soon as she picked up.
"Nope not anymore, now spill." She sound like she was shifting around getting comfortable. I laughed.
"Are you referring to that little bathroom scene?"
"Duh you know I am, what was up with that?"
"That was just him being nice, he wanted me to know that he cared. —Wait are you with Trey still?"
"No I'm home now, Trey went back to his apartment. I do miss him though." She whined.
"Ya'll always missing each other, make me sick." I scoffed jokingly.
"That's my boo. Anyway, I see what you did there changing the subject."
"Not much to say about it. It felt right though and I didn't want it to end. It was like the time froze a little bit. Just being there in his arm, I'm sad thinking about it now, because I already miss it. It probably won't ever happen again." I closed my eyes reminiscing.
"You got it bad for him, and I also saw the look in his eyes when he was holding you girl. Even I felt the second- hand butterflies. I was so shocked, I was like well let me just slide on up out of here." She gleamed and I was blushing like crazy.
"If you didn't come when you did, we would probably still be in that same position."
"Your brother and his parents would've flipped."
"Don't remind me, I'm not ready to think about that yet." I uttered , looking down running my fingers across the business card.
"Oh and there this little business card I'm holding in my hand."
"He gave you his number?" Sienna yelled, sounding shock.
"Yes, he slipped it to me. Not sure what to do with it though." I flipped the card over. "I'm not even sure if this is his personal number or not."

"Well whatever decision you make I will support you. You know I got your back."
"I just feel like it might be opening up pandoras box. Plus I don't feel right talking to Mikey's best friend behind his back. I don't want to betray him."
"Well do whatever you think is best, take sometime and just think about it first. You don't have to make any decisions tonight." She suggested.
"You're right, that's exactly what I'm going to do. See I knew I kept you around for a reason." We laughed.
"Shut up punk."
She paused then stated. "As long as I have known you I've never even seen you consider anybody, well other than that disaster of a date and I don't even think you were feeling him like that. Your brother on the other hand came for that dudes neck though."
"I know right, that was crazy." I laughed.
"He was not with the shits, I can't believe your brother went to get his gun on that boy."
"Just imagine what he's going to do about the new man meat in your life." She added.
"Girl he's hardly that. No more guns shall be pulled." We laughed.
"Well I'm about to go get ready for bed, I'm tired of talking to you now."
"Whatever, go ahead and FaceTime your boo." I replied knowingly.
She giggled. "Goodnight I love you Rai."
"I love you too, see you tomorrow." I said ending the call.
I guess I better shower and get my clothes and stuff ironed. Easy day tomorrow, Oh I just love my Mondays...

Apollyon's Curse
Within the pages of folklore and fantasy, tales of people who chase after the dream of eternity, of living forever, rarely find a happy ending. They are either struck by the grim truth of reality, give up, and return to mortality or face a ghastly realization of their wishes. The latter often the worse fate, as they come to realize, only far too late, that what they sacrificed was worth far more than the time they gained. Ultimately, the common thread in these stories is that “immortality is as much a curse as it is a blessing”. People either realize it early and give up or are doomed to inevitably face its consequences. In the world Enrich lives in, that saying does hold merit. Every pathway towards eternal life has shackles of its own. They bring those high above down to the ground, evening the playing field. It is thanks to these fundamental laws that ambitious mortals are able to defy the heavens and achieve immortality themselves. The variety of methods result in each of these bindings varying in intensity and degree of freedom. Enrich’s path doesn't break this trend. Though, after what he did to himself, most wouldn’t even consider him a living thing anymore. On the day of his ascension, a world’s worth of souls were melted and recast. On that day, the human’s path had reached its conclusion, recast into Apollyon. An artifact, a weapon, is eternal, after all. As for the curse? The payment will be made, as it must. So why not offload the curse to someone else? Mortals throw their lives away for all manner of petty reasons, noble or otherwise, especially in desperation. Eventually, someone will be willing to foot the bill. Most will if given the chance. The bait is far too tempting, after all. Power, status, knowledge. All at their fingertips. If only they say “yes”. And Apollyon is very willing to help any lost souls. If they give up everything in return, of course.

Again
Most villains, no matter how terrifying, are defeated by a hero on the first try. The hero may be forced to flee or otherwise delay the real confrontation, but it’s still certain that he will win when it occurs. But some villains simply defeat all comers. Against an opponent like that, the only options are to give up or to try again. --- This story is a participant of the WriTEr's pledge. In short, I promise to finish it, and may I be Hall of Shamed if I don't.
