Raina hurried off upstairs, I wanted to go after her.
"Fuck, —what did I just do?" Mike stood up yelling hitting himself in the head repeatedly.
He turned his attention toward me, filled with rage. "Get out, get out of my house and don't come back! I don't want to see you, speak to you —and don't even think about my sister. I should kill you right now man."
I didn't say anything further to him. I got ready to leave but I didn't want to leave without knowing if Rai was ok.
I sat in my car for about ten minutes trying to get her to answer the phone. I remembered she grabbed it off the table before she ran out.
She's not answering.
"Come on baby pick up." I spoke out loud to myself as my hands shook, fumbling with my phone.
I waited another ten minutes before deciding to just go back in there. Mikes already pissed at me. It can't get any worse.
I hopped out my car and sprinted over to knock on the door, Leah answered.
"Look Adrian, give him time to cool off, trust me."
"I know, I just— I need to see her and make sure she's ok. Did you check on her?" I struggled to say.
"No she's locked in her room. I tried knocking, she just wants to be left alone." She stated in a soothing tone trying to ease my mind.
I shook my head, not wanting to hear that. "I need to see her."
Mike came to the door opening it wider. He yelled in my face. "Didn't I tell you to leave?"
"Look man be pissed, just please go up there and check on her." I begged him.
"She's good don't worry about her-" I interrupted barging passed him, and ran up the stairs to her room.
I knocked on the door, she didn't respond.
"Rai!" I banged harder.
Mike came running up the stairs, he saw me panicking on the verge of tears. He changed his whole demeanor and started banging on the door. No answer.
He was about to run back down stairs to get a key I assumed but I kicked the door in instead. Both of us ran in eyeing the room.

We heard water running from the bathroom we both yelled out for her and got no response. Mike ran over to the bathroom door and bust through it. He found Raina in the overfilled tub. Mike yelled out. I rushed in behind him.
Mike shook her.
She looked like she was sleeping but she wasn't. My heart sunk. Her head was tilted back against the tub and one of her arms dangles out the side.
"Oh no, no no—no, no, no!" I kept repeating, I rushed over to check her pulse. She had a faint one.
Mike continued shaking her and slap at her face. I reached over and turned the water off panicking. Leah came running in screaming hysterically.
I helped Mike get her out of the tub, and quickly grabbed her robe that was hanging to cover her up.
"Help me please, call somebody man." Mike cried out.
Leah was already on the phone with the operator.
We weren't that far from the hospital so I insisted on driving us there faster. We hurried and got her in the car.
I drove as fast as I could thankfully all the lights I went through were green. Leah and Mike held Raina in the back seat.
"God we need you." I whispered softly.
I got a glimpse at some scars she had when we got her up out of the tub. They were under her breast, stomach and hip area. They look like stab wounds or something she had to get stitches for.
"Rai, please get up. I'm sorry Rai,— I'm sorry." Mike cried out, holding her closer to him.
My breathing picked up and tears began rolling effortlessly down my face. My vision was blurry the rest of the way but I got us there quickly.
I pulled in, hitting the raised curb at the entrance. I didn't care though. I rushed out of the car barely putting it in park. I went over and helped Mike carry her out of the car, because he wasn't trying to let her go. We rushed inside finding a doctor walking passed.
"Help us please, my girl— she needs help." I cried out loudly startling everyone in sight.

All of a sudden a bunch of nurses and doctors rushed over with a gurney laying her down.
"Did she take anything?" A doctor ask while checking her.
"Yes, her antidepressants, I think the whole bottle." Mike spoke up.
"Her body temp is elevated, and pupils are dilated. —Let's move people before she starts seizing." The doctor stated while turning her on her side. They hurried and rushed Raina back.
I looked at Mike stunned.
Leah directed Mike to a seat in the waiting room, he was shaking and crying hysterically.
I quickly went out to park my car and came back in. I stood at the door over across from where Mike and Leah were seated. I could easily see when the doctors came back.
Mike couldn't sit still, he shifted in the seat until he couldn't anymore. He stood up and went to the front desk to try to get information. They didn't have a status update and said they would let us know when they heard.
"This is bullshit, I've been sitting here for about thirty minutes now. Somebody need to tell me something!" He yelled at the lady behind the desk.
"Sir, we don't have any new information right now. I will let you know and someone will come out to update you—"
He walked off not trying to hear what she had to say, finding himself back in his chair next to Leah.
He didn't have to wait long, a doctor came out updating him. She basically said Rai's status was still up in the air and that they needed him to sign some forms. He went over to the desk and did so. He came back taking his seat.
After a couple hours went by another doctor came out. Mike seemed to be familiar with him. He let the other doctors know that Raina was his patient.
"Hey Mr. Jackson." Mike stood up. I finally took a seat in the near by chair where I stood. My hands were over my mouth and my elbows resting above my knees. I was praying as I rocked back and forth.
"Hey Dr. Saunders, what's going on with my sister? Mike asked.
"Well, we gave her some benzodiazepine because she did start seizing. As for her Tricyclic overdose we did the charcoal method of course. We don't want to chance it getting any further into her bloodstream." He responded casually as if Mike already knew about this, I'm starting to feel like this wasn't her first attempt.
Mike nodded, I was staring in their direction. My vision started clouding again.
"She's resting, we're keeping her in critical right now for a minimum of twelve hours, her blood pressure is elevated but it's slowly going down. We're monitoring her closely and pumping her up with fluids."
"Is she out of the woods, will she be ok, when can I see her?" Mike asked nervously rambling.
"I would say give her a few more hours to rest and let us make sure she's recovering properly. As of now we have to let her body do the work and we wait. If she hadn't gotten here when she did we wouldn't have this fighting chance. —I will personally come back out and update you Mr. Jackson, I'm hopeful."
"Ok, thank you Dr. Saunders —for everything you've done for us over the years."
"No thanks needed, oh and you might want to go ahead and contact Dr. Mills and set up an appointment with her. I'll send over her records."
"Thanks and will do."
The Doctor walked off and Mike went back over to his seat and let out a big sigh. He pulled out his phone and made a call.
Leah notified Sienna and Rita. Then they told the rest of the crew. They were on their way over.
I leaned back in my seat, tilted my head back against the wall then sent up another silent prayer.

Blood Quest - A LitRPG
Leon's family has been diagnosed with a new type of incurable blood disease. It's an absolute death sentence and when it turns aggressive, you only have a few more years of painful life left to live. His mother has just begun the last years of the disease when a person supposedly comes back from death with supernatural abilities. He talks about a choice you get after death--get an extra chance to come back to life, or die. Even with Leon's diminishing life span, he won't consider the option of going there, until he meets another survivor who had the same goal as him and succeeded. Leon has a choice to make—die now for a chance to save his mother, or die in a few years, where the disease rapidly melts his muscles from his own body. He enters a game-like world, a sort of limbo, where his ultimate goal is to climb the tower of Katastroph before his mother's time runs out. There are a few problems with this though. The tower is almost impossible to beat, if you die you won't revive, and only three people in over twenty years have actually made it back. Leon has two years to climb the tower, with the help of the few people willing to try, while Ai, the tutorial guide, makes things harder for them. ***** The story starts pretty dark but goes onto a lighter tone. Then (more) dark again. Disclaimer: This story is an experimental project and I hope to get any and all feedback you can give me. Warning: First draft. Chapters tend to be between 3400-4100 words long (about 8-11 A4-pages). Mentioning it since I've seen it in other fictions :P Sometimes they're shorter, sometimes they're longer. ******************************** CHAPTER RELEASES UPDATE: As the first "book" in the series is done, I'm going to release coming chapters somewhat sporadically, and when Writathon ends, I'll probably go back to publishing one chapter per weekend. We'll just have to wait and see! I hope you enjoy the story! I really appreciate all comments and feedback, so if you have anything to say, feel free to voice it :) ************ [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
