《Unforgivable ✔️》Chapter 14

I woke up feeling sore and exhausted. Shayne had not been gentle when taking every part of me. I wasn't one to complain about it. I enjoyed every second of the intimate moment we had. Afterwards, Shaybe held me in his arms as I cried.
I wasnt really sure why I started crying. I was just thinking about mating with Shayne soon after it happened. He didn't hurt me or anything like that. It was just knowing that I really had him and that I couldn't leave him even if I wanted to. I hated to admit how much I had grown to care about him. He was everything to me now.
My clothes were still on the floor along with Shayne's when I finally decided to get up. I didn't feel Shayne anywhere around the house but his scent clung fresh in the air.
I quickly darted to the closet. I changed into sweats and I tried to gather up my thoughts while I still had a moment alone.
I felt annoyed with my wolf that she was still worked up from last night. She wanted more of Shayne. I on the other hand felt the anger begin to fill me. I was pissed at Shayne for doubting me. I was angry that he had to go as far as forcing me to take the decision to mate with him. It shouldn't have been under those circumstances, but I couldn't take it back anymore.
I grabbed another pair of clothes to put on after showering. I needed more time to think before I started out my day. I had to talk to Jake and make sure that he was still alive. I also had to see Bree and maybe let off some of my seam at her.
After I finished my shower I took my time with blow drying my hair. After I walked down to the kitchen and I found it empty. I looked at the clock and I saw that it was already one in the afternoon. I roamed the fridge so I could make myself something to eat. The only reason I had woken up in the first place was because my stomach was crying out.
When I finished eating Sam and Jake walked into the kitchen. I froze when they both casually walked in the kitchen. As my eyes roamed Jake I saw that he was untouched. The bruises he had from yesterday were no longer visible. He looked freshly showered and neatly dressed.
"You look like shit." Jake commented.
My eyes started to water and I ran to him. I threw myself in his arms and I held him tightly so he wouldn't disappear on me. He was still alive. He didn't have any fresh wounds and he was here, with me.
"Hey, what's wrong?"
"You're alive," I sobbed.
"Gee, thanks for the vote of confidence. I had everything perfectly under control."
Nothing was under control yesterday. Jake had gotten hurt because of me.
"You got hurt." I said..

"It was nothing. I can handle anything that Alpha throws at me. It was you I was worried about. I rather he hurt me than you."
"Is that why you didn't fight back?"
"I figured if he got it out of his system then he wouldn't find it in him to hurt you."
"Shayne would never hurt Sage." Sam defended.
I didn't want to look at him. Shayne didn't physically hurt me, his actions were more than enough to cause pain.
I was still mad at Shayne. I knew part of the reason I was so angry was because I really did enjoy mating with him. It was like finally finding a piece of me I didn't knew was missing. Even thinking about it now made me feel warm.
"You stay out of this." Jake growled at Sam.
"If you wouldn't have lied then-"
"I get it, okay?" I turned around and snapped at Sam. "I'm a liar and a bad person. I get it. Can we please just leave it alone?"
Sam and Jake were quiet for a while. I tried to take control of my emotions before I broke down into tears again. Crying wouldn't do me any good.
"So this girl," Sam said. "Bree. Who is she?"
"My ex-girlfriend." Jake grumbled.
I couldn't see Jake's face but I could imagine the look on his face just saying her name. Jake always hated talking about Bree and what they had. I didn't blame him for it. She didn't take the split all too easy.
"I hope she didn't follow me all the way here." Jake said with certainty. "I need to have a talk with her about that and other things."
I nodded at him and went to clean the dishes. Bree being here had me feeling on edge. It made me wonder how she knew where we were. Could she have really followed us here? Or maybe someone else knew and told her? What if everyone knew I was at Night Shade's?
The plate I had in my slipped and I tried to grab it but only ended up doing more damage. The plate hit the counter and when I went to grab it the sharp end cut into my palm. I immediately put my hand under running water so the blood wouldn't get anywhere. It would heal in a couple of minutes, but the cut stung anyways.
"Are you okay?" Jake asked. He came to my side and held my hand in his.
"Do you want me to get a first aid kit?" Sam asked standing behind Jake to see the damage.
"No, it'll stop in a bit." I said.
I grabbed a few paper towels and pressed them against my hand. I took the watt of paper towels and tossed then in the trash can. My palm was already healing and thankfully the blood had stopped. Sam was nice enough to pick up the broken pieces of the plate for me.

"I need to go talk to Bree." I said. "Sam, can you take me there."
"Sorry, Sage, but Shayne asked me not to let you anywhere near her." Sam said.
"He also said not to leave me alone with you." Jake added.
"If you want to be there with me then that's fine, Sam, but I have to talk to her. I need to know how she was able to find us." I said.
"I'll talk to her." Jake offered.
"You're not allowed to talk to her either and especially without supervision."
"I don't take orders from you." Jake snapped.
"We'll all go together." I suggested before they could start bickering. "I'd feel better if I had both of you there."
"Shayne wanted to see you too." Sam said. "Alpha Jace will be coming sooner than expected."
I had forgotten about Alpha Jace. I wasn't sure how I felt about his visit.
"Well, we can stop by to talk to Bree on our way there."
"Sage, that's not a good idea." Sam shook his head disapprovingly.
I sighed rather irritated. "I want to know why she's here. What if someone else knows I'm here? Someone in the pack could get hurt if we had a surprise attack."
"Then you should talk to Shayne." Sam said and then added, "This time tell him the truth."
"Sam, I-"
"Talk to me about what?"
We all turned around to see Shayne standing at the doorway. Alex was with him and had a serious look on his face. I couldn't remember ever seeing him crack a smile. I didn't like him much, but Jake didn't seem to mind him. I wondered if his opinion on Alex had too changed after yesterday.
"About what happened last night." I said, nervously.
I slowly made my way over to him when he gave Jake a dark look. I didn't want Shayne to attack Jake again. Once was enough for me to see.
I reached out to hug him but he caught my wrist. He looked at my palm that now had a pink line running across. It looked swollen and I had a bit of dry blood. He let out a low growl and his eyes looked for the person that could have caused it.
"I broke a plate." I mumbled.
I had started shaking and most of it was due to my nerves. Shayne honestly scared me when he was angry.
"You broke a plate." He said, not believing a word I said.
"It was an accident." Sam said.
"Out." Shayne didn't look at anyone. He kept his eyes locked on me. "I said out!"
"I'm not leaving unless Sage wants me to." I could hear the message behind his words. If I was scared of Shayne then having Jake there would help.
"You can go, Jake. I'll be alright." I said.
Jake didn't say anything as he walked past us. I wasn't afraid of Shayne. I was more afraid of what he would say. I was deeply connected to him now and I wouldn't be able to take him leaving me.
"Are you okay?" He asked, softly.
I nodded and let my eyes roam Shayne. He looked so appealing. It was crazy how my wolf already wanted to drag him back to our room. One night was not enough to satisfy or tame her.
"Stop it." He said in a husky voice.
His voice sent a chill down my spine and made my knees go weak.
"I'm not doing anything." I said.
"Sage, if you don't stop I will do absolutely nothing to hold my wolf back from taking you again."
I cleared my throat and I had to remind myself that it was not the time to be mating with him. Being near Shayne messed with my judgement. I wanted to forgive him and do anything he wanted.
"I want you," He said, leaning down and brushing his lips against mine. "I love that you're only mine."
With a sigh he pressed his lips against mine. His words made me freeze and pull away from him.
"So now that we mated you believe me?"
I knew this entire thing was my fault, but I wasn't going to forgive Shayne so easily. He was supposed to trust me. Even now I knew he was probably having a hard trouble trusting me.
"About that-"
"You hurt me." I said, cutting him off whatever he was about to say. "You pushed me to mate with you just to prove a point. I didn't want it to be like that."
"I'm sorry about hurting you, Sage, I truly regret it." He said. "But I don't regret mating with you."
"Well, now that you know that I haven't been sleeping around then maybe you can now learn to trust me."
"Trust goes both ways. You need to learn to trust me too. If you had told me about Jake from the beginning I would have saved myself a lot of trouble. And I should remind you that you haven't told me who is after you."
I groaned. Was he seriously bringing this up now?
"I'll forget about this whole incident if you forget I ever told you about that
"Is it really that bad?" He asked. "I told you that you can trust me."
If only he could trust me, I thought to myself.
"It doesn't matter anymore."
"Sage-"
"I'll forgive you for everything just stop bringing it up."
"I-"
"Just stop. I'm not going to tell you anything, okay? It doesn't matter anymore. I'm here with you now. I'm still pissed at you and I could just run away with Jake." Shayne growled when I said that. "But I'm here, Shayne. You're my mate. If you want me to out this behind us then you'll forget about what I told you."
I didn't give him a chance to reply. I walked around him and went straight to our room. That was the end of our conversation for me.
