《Unforgivable ✔️》Chapter 40

I waited in front if the door for twenty minutes until the door finally opened. I quickly composed myself and put on a smile that Shayne knew so well. At exactly seven he stood at the door to our house looking just as good as I had seen him when he left.
When he saw me his eyebrows shot up and he looked extremely pleased by something. I could see his dark eyes roaming every single inch of me. Just to get another reaction from him I did a slow spin for him. When I looked back at him I could see the swirls in his eyes as he tried to fight with his wolf.
"You look...amazing." He breathed.
"Thank you." I said, feeling my cheeks go warm.
Shayne took a step close to me and cupped my face. Our eyes locked together and I felt my heart skipping joyfully. He leaned down and brushed his lips against mine. I felt an amazing sensation run through me.
"We should eat before you get to have desert." I said, a bit breathlessly.
I felt like I couldn't control the way my body reacted to my mate. My insides always melted at being in his arms. My heart yearned to be near him and my wolf was in love with the idea to being glued to him forever. I always felt tingles every single place that his skin came in contact with mine.
"I rather have desert now." He said huskily.
"Let's eat." I said shaking my head.
I took Shayne's hand and led him to dining room table. I had him take a seat at his usual spot. I went into the kitchen and brought everything out for is to eat. I served the food on our plates and took a seat next to him.
"This stuff is great." Shayne said.
"Bre helped me with preparing everything." I said.
"She'll make a good Luna for her pack." Shayne said.
"I think so too. This whole thing will soon be over and we won't have to worry about anything anymore. Eric and I are even getting along."
"I'm glad you guys are. Eric is a good guy and my sister loved him. He's like part of the family. I know everything that has happened has made it hard for him to accept you but you're doing well with this."

"I'm really sorry about everything." I said.
"It's not your fault."
No. It wasn't my fault but I felt like it was. Our destinies were intertwined from the very beginning. This was something that would have been inevitable. The moon goddess paired us up because we were strong enough to pull through this.
I have to say that I've questioned so much why everything always had to happen to me. I felt like all the bad luck had been dumped on me. I felt trapped in this mess with no way out. I felt like I must have done something in life to deserve such a punishment.
"I've come to accept that." I told him. "At first I thought it was my fault because that's how Rider set everything up. It was part of his plan."
"I promise he will pay for this soon." Shayne said.
Shayne's hands were in fists. It was no doubt we all hated Rider. Shayne didn't know how right he was about Rider paying for everything soon.
"He will." I agreed. "You know, I'm excited for it to be all over. I'm ready to put all of this behind us and be a family."
"I would love that."
"I'm thirsty." I said. "I made us some flavored water."
I stood and went to the kitchen to get the water. I brought out two glasses that already had water poured in them. I handed Shayne his glass and he immediately drank it.
We ate for a while and continued to talk about plans we had. Shayne was going to work on a new project for the pack. He seemed really excited especially because he planned on having Eric and Justin involved.
After finishing eating we went into the kitchen to wash up everything. Shayne continued drinking the water I had made. He was leaning against the counter talking as I washed the dishes and out away the food.
We had the stereo playing as I continued cleaning up. I held the smile as Shayne continued to talk. He looked so happy and excited about what would soon be. He spoke a lot about Eleanor and what we would all do in the future.

"Let's dance." Shayne suddenly said.
I listened to the song playing in the stereo. I laughed and shook my head. He was trying to be cute and cheesy. It made my heart squeeze. I turned to the stereo and turned up the volume.
"Come here." Shayne said when I didn't make a move.
Shayne wrapped his arm around my waist and brought me closer to him. My hands were still soapy and wet. My heels clicked on the tile floor as he started moving us around.
"You're so cheesy." I laughed.
"It's a beautiful song."
I tilted my head to the side and continued to listen to the song. Indeed it was a beautiful song and it couldn't have come at a better time.
I, I keep on running
I'm building bridges that I know you never wanted
Look for my heart
You stole it away
Now on every single road that I could take
Listen, I want you to burn my bridges down
I said, I want you to burn my bridges down
Set me on Fire
You set me
Set me on Fire
You can burn my bridges down
"I love you, Sage. With all my heart and in so sorry if I ever hurt you."
I looked up at Shayne and I could see the pain behind his words. He was my mate and I get he never wanted to hurt me. He had though but it wasn't his fault. I had to be understanding of that.
"I've forgiven you if you had." I admitted.
"I never want to lose you."
Shayne tightened his arms around me and brought me closer to him if possible. I leaned my head against his shoulder and closed my eyes. I could hear his heart beating in his chest. The sound was soothing to my heart.
"You won't." I said.
"I would lose my mind if I ever lost you. I've loved you since the day I laid eyes on you. The stubborn rogue that wanted to run away."
I chuckled. "You had already won me over then. I was scared and I didn't want to hurt you. I wasn't good for you."
"You never have to feel that way again. I'm here for you and I will protect you."
"I know."
I pulled away and looked up at him. The music was now drowned out into the background. All I could see and concentrate on was my mate. My wolf was dying to be in his arms again and I wasn't going to hold her back.
Shayne leaned in and I felt his warm lips on mine. Slowly he moved them as if savoring the feeling. My eyes fluttered close and I felt a jolt in my heart. My arms wrapped around his neck and I brought him closer to me.
If something were to happen to me tonight then I want to have this last moment with Shayne. I pressed my body against his and I felt him pulling lightly on my hair. A small moan left my lips and that was all it took.
Before I knew it we were in our room. Shayne was carrying my and I had my legs wrapped around his waist. Our lips never parted for a single second. I could still hear the music downstairs and I could agree more with what it said.
Set me on Fire
You set me
Set me on Fire
Will you burn my bridges down?
My back hit the bed and I clicked my heels off. Shayne was on too of me and his hands roamed my body now. I fumbled with the buttons on his shirt and when I got too needy with him I decided in ripping it off. I ran my hands over his smooth chest, over his shoulders, and down his back.
"I love you." Shayne said.
He pulled back and was sliding off my white dress. He tossed it to the floor along with my undergarments. His kisses were hot against my burning skin. I wanted more of him and it just wasn't enough to just have him like this.
"I love you too." I whispered as I let myself fall into sweet bliss with my mate.

When they get dragged into a grand scheme to unpick the ancient secrets entombed within one its foremost forbidden zones in their world, the Yin Eclipse Mountains, they must all try to survive the dark machinations, eldritch undercurrents and the echoes of a terrible conflict trying to re-emerge into an unsuspecting cosmos that had rather hoped it was done with that kind of thing a few eras hence. So please come join Arai, Sana, Juni, Ling, Shu and the rest of my cast as they journey through strange lands, meet all kinds of unusual beings and unravel some of the power and glory of a land time tried very hard to forget. I promise terrifying mushrooms, angry snakes, confused gods, even more confused cultivators and much, much more! Update schedule: (02/6/2022) As chapters are done, sorry. Progress: Currently up to old chapter 13-15. Chapter 24(or 25)/13, Parts 1 & 2 will be the end of the rework. Part 2 has been temporarily delayed due to me getting a frozen shoulder in the middle of June, which has been very slow to properly clear up. It is getting better, though, but Shoulder/neck is the worst set of muscles to have issues with ;( You can currently pick up most story threads after the rewritten chapters, starting from chapter 13-14 (old) Genre-wise, this is a bit hard to pin down. It's technically a Xianxia (because cultivators!), but it also veers towards Xuanhuan and has more traditional High Fantasy elements and a bit of Gods and Monsters and All Myths Are (on some levels) Valid. It also has a fairly large, ensemble cast, so if multiple point's of view are not your thing I am sorry. It won't ever really be considered 'grimdark' by any real measure of that definition but it does go to some complicated and fairly places dark occasionally, which I will note in author pre-chapter notes when expedient!. About the Author I mainly write fiction for my own hobby, it makes a nice change from academic scribbling! I started writing this quite a number of years ago. It has grown somewhat organically out of a bunch of different interests in all kinds of Mythology, World Building, Drawing Maps, Archaeology, Anthropology, History and Epic Fantasy fiction into what it is today. So I hope you enjoy the story and thanks for reading! Other stuff The cover is made by the author, using photos taken by the author. There is a Discord Server- Please come and chat, but beware of spoilers.

Thaum new Galaxy
Thaum an ancient mage of many lives decides to drift through the great void before starting a new life. Unknowingly centuries pass and he somehow finds himself in a new galaxy. One where Magic never passed the initial Druidic phase and died out. Instead, the people have taken to technology to improve their lives. They have progressed further than Thaum has ever seen. Traveling between worlds isn't a grand expedition with great magic, but as simple as boarding a ship and paying the boarding fee. Authors note - This story is intended to be a short novel. The MC is going to be OP as far as mages are concerned, but we will see what a sci-fi universe can throw at him. (suggestions welcome) p.s. he will try to make his impact overall a good one, but he is not a good person. He only chooses to do good. Unless it is too inconvenient. it also won't be particularly dark.
