《Cherry Blossom Lee Jihoon ff》Chapter 2

A part of me wants to go up to Jieun and go ask her how she's been. I feel kinda bad because she must be going through a lot with dad. I mean he never really been nice, looking back at the memories I had with him. He's always been rude and yelled at them, and I've even seen him hit them a few times. I guess Jisung couldn't handle the hate, but Jieun must be strong. I don't ask the boys about her because none of them know she's my sister, I don't tell them about my family and they respect that.
Seungcheol walked over to me and asked "Hey, are you ok?" which snapped me out of my thoughts. "I'm fine, just thinking." "About?" "Family matters." "Ahh ok, you know you can tell me anything, but I respect your privacy" I felt happy that he said that, but could I really tell him? "Thanks Cheol" "No problem" We all were waiting for Jihoon to return and were watching them when suddenly Jieun walked away, probably going home, and Jihoon returned. A few were laughing, but he just ignored them and wanted to go back to the apartment.
As we were walking home, I turned to Jihoon, "Jihoon ah" I waited for his response, he hummed so that I would continue. "Why did you agree to the bet? You usually don't talk to girls." "Jeonghan hyung, none of us talk to girls, they're all brats" "I know, but you agreed so easily, why?" "I don't know actually, I mean I've seen her in class and she seems... different. She doesn't react to us like the other girls in class, she doesn't even spare any of us a glance."
I want to ask him so much about her, but I don't want to explain my family to him, I'm not ready yet. "Ahh, ok, but if you do succeed, let her down... gently, she seems to not trust you, but if you can get her, don't hurt her too much." I said seriously, he replied "Of course hyung, I can't ruin my image" I laughed and rolled my eyes as we continued our way home.

As I walked inside the hellhole that is my home, I could smell alcohol from the front door. Ever since it was just me and him in the home, he started drinking A LOT. I tried to quietly go to my room to start homework and avoid my father. "JIEUN!!" oh no. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN YOU BRAT" He yelled at me as he threw an empty Soju bottle at me. "Why do you care?! It's not like you want me here!" I yelled back, I don't know why I did, but something tells me he wasn't happy about that.
He charged towards me and started beating me up, I was used to being hit a few times, but never this much. "STOP IT HURTS" I pleaded as he continued to beat me up. Suddenly I felt blood dripping down my face, did he just cut me?? I fought back and eventually got out of his grip and ran to my room.
I went to the bathroom in pain and looked in the mirror. I had cuts all over my cheeks and a few on my legs. I pulled out my pocket knife and left a few swift cuts on my arms before cleaning up my body that was covered in blood and bruises. How am I gonna cover up tomorrow? My face was cut a few times and there was a bruise starting to form near my left eye. At least we don't have a uniform, I can cover my arms and legs.
Trying to ignore the pain, I walked over to my desk and started my homework. When I finished, the pain didn't go away so I went to my bathroom, took a few painkillers, and decided to go on a walk.
I exited the house safely because my father had passed out because of drunkenness. I didn't know where I was walking, but I let my legs guide me through the neighborhood. I found my way to the park I go to every day and sat down on a bench below the cherry blossom trees, groaning in pain. I closed my eyes and didn't notice that tears were dripping down my face. Once they reached they cuts it stung and I hissed in pain. I closed my eyes once again, trying to forget the pain.

It was getting pretty late and I couldn't stop thinking about Jieun. This usually doesn't happen, I don't think about her often. I snuck out of bed and decided to go on a walk. As I was putting on my coat, Joshua woke up as asked where I was going. "Don't worry, I'm only going for a walk" I whispered to him. He then went back to sleep and I exited the apartment.
When I can't sleep I take a walk to the park near the school. It's really peaceful there at night. As I was walking I heard a groan? I saw a figure sitting on a bench who looked to be in pain. I slowly walked towards the figure and it was a girl. Wait, is THAT JIEUN?! I suddenly ran over to her and I was right, it was Jieun, eyes closed, tears streaming down her face with bruises and cuts all over her.
"Jieun..." I said, trying not to cry. She quickly opened her eyes, "Jeonghan? Why are you here?" I quickly gave her a hug and started crying, I couldn't hold it back anymore. At first she seemed shocked by my sudden action, but eventually hugged me back. I could feel how fragile her body was, and I hated it so much. I pulled away from the hug and held her shoulders gently, "did dad do this to you?" She nodded and I cried again "I'm so sorry" I said between sobs, she was crying a bit too but tried to sooth me.
She would spell things on my back while trying to calm me down saying it wasn't my fault. I wonder if she did this for Jisung too. Just like grandma used to do for me. I told her to come stay with me tonight, but she denied. I didn't give her an option and picked her up. I think it's time I explain our family to the boys.

Path of Divinity
The world has been assimilated by the Celestial Archives, a vast system designed to fight the forces that seek to destroy the universe. For most, it's a holy cause that rewards victory with stats, levels, and skills. For Hunter Gold, it's the start of a nightmare. Even in a system dominated by paths, he finds himself taking the road less traveled. This is a work in progress. Major editing will be done after the book is complete, so there will be egregious typos and parts that make no sense whatsoever. Please feel free to point any and all of these things out. Chapters WILL get edited, and that editing might break earlier chapters. I will attempt to keep readers apprised of all changes. As always, feedback is welcome and appreciated. This is kind of something fun I wanted to write after reading stories like The New World, System Apocalypse, and the Legend of Randidly Ghosthound. I don't know how serious I will be about this story, but I just want to try it out. I imagine that it will become a love child between Fable, Diablo, and Devil May Cry. Enjoy!
