Jihoon pov
When I turned around, I saw
Vernon
"Sure. What's up?" I said walking to the back of the group where Vernon had been walking. "Woozi, do you...perhaps... like Jieun? As more than a friend?" "Honestly, I don't know yet. She's definitely very beautiful, she seems kind once you get to know her, she's fun to be around, whenever she's in danger, I want to help her and protect her." "Hmm, sounds like it's a bad case of likey likey's." I looked over at the younger boy, "are you my doctor or something? Why did you have to say it like that?" "It's just the Hansol way" he said walking over to Seungkwan, leaving me.

The boys went to follow Jieun to the park and saw that Jieun had fallen asleep on Woozi's shoulder, and later on he had fallen asleep as well. The boys all got up and took pictures, of course to tease them with later on. Once Jihoon was awoken, he picked up Jieun and went towards the dorm. When Hansol pulled Jihoon to the back of the group to talk, little did they know, someone was listening.
Jieun pov
When I woke up from my nap, I was no longer on the bench in the park. I woke up in the same room that I did the first night I was here, but only a different bed. I think it was Woozi's bed. I sat up and went to the restroom to wash my face before going out to the living room. I grabbed my phone and made my way out the bedroom door. "Jieun-ah" I heard a voice coming from the kitchen. It was Mingyu. "Do you mind helping make dinner? After eating your breakfast, I know you're a really good cook." "Alright I'll help."

After a while, Seungkwan, Mingyu, and I finished making dinner. We called the boys in to eat. Jeonghan kept giving me weird looks but I think I could read it pretty well, it was something along the lines of "we need to talk" I nodded showing him I understood and continued eating. After dinner, I said I would do the dishes because they were letting me stay here. As I was washing them, Seungcheol came in and said Jeonghan wanted to see me out on the balcony and that he would finish the dishes. I thanked him and made my way outside.
"Hannie?" I said as I opened the door leading to a small balcony but just big enough for a swing that could hold 2 people. He was sitting there and patted the seat beside him and said "come sit" I listened to his words and sat next to him, watching the sun set in front of us. "Old nicknames? Haven't heard Hannie in a while, not since we were little." We both smiled and he continued "Ji, do you know why I called you out here" He spoke in a low, calm voice. I shook my head. "Well for starters, I need to ask you a question" "Go ahead" was all I said and he continued. "Do you have feelings for someone?" "I don't know Hannie, I really don't." "Wanna talk about it?" "I don't see any reason not to, you're the only person that I really can talk to." I said as I leaned my head on his shoulder. "Well, the first time I met him, he seemed more like he would play me. But as time goes on, I spend more time with him, and I enjoy every moment." I said smiling with my head still on his shoulder. "He's really cute, and seems quite kind, even though he doesn't treat most other girls that way. He makes my heart flutter by the little things he does."

"Ji, is it... Woozi?" "Yeah" I said not caring about his reaction. "Aigoo~ my little Ji is growing up" he said as he rested his head on mine wiping a fake tear. "Oh hush we're the same age" We both chuckled and sat in silence while watching the sun set. It was a comfortable silence that made me feel... safe.
"Hannie?" He hummed in response "where did you go today?" "do you really want to know?" "If you don't mind, yes" I replied. He took a deep breath in "Well, I went to court." "What why?!" I said, suddenly worried, sitting straight up and looking at him. He looked at me and said something that I wouldn't expect. "Taking full custody of my sister" He said while looking me in the eyes. "You don't have to deal with dad now. You'll be ok. You'll be safe." I burst into tears and hugged him, which he quickly returned and wrapped his arms around me.
Suddenly the door opened. "Hyung, did you tell her?" Asked Joshua. He smiled at the 12 boys who were all anticipating an answer and he nodded. They cheered and wanted to celebrate. I wanted to tomorrow since I had to finish homework and I was tired and they agreed.
As I put away my now completed homework, someone called out to me. "Ji" I turned and saw Jeonghan sitting on the couch next to me. "I was thinking that since you don't have a bed, I will give you two options. 1 You and me go live in apartment that's 1 floor higher, or 2 you and I can share a bunk bed in the room that I share with the other boys. I know six people is a lot, but right now Joshua has his own bed and said it would be ok if he got rid of it and took my bunk, so we could get another one for you and me."
"Hannie, why are you guys doing so much for me?" "Because I'm your brother, your legal guardian, your caretaker, and I love you, and the boys love to have you around. It's nice not having some annoying girl be my sister, you're different. The boys and I all like that." "Hannie~ you're gonna make me cry" I said tearing up a bit. "Don't cry Ji, it breaks my heart when you do, but you need to choose an option, 1 or 2?" "I guess 2? I wouldn't want you to seperate from the boys." "Aww you're sweet, but is it ok if you sleep on the couch for a few more days?" "Of course Hannie, I'm happy to have a place to sleep" "Alright then, goodnight Ji" "night Hannie"
I went to the bathroom to change into my pajamas and brush my teeth (Jeonghan lends me old clothes for now and they bought me bathroom essentials) Only when I walked in, my face quickly flushed red and I closed the door. "Sorry, I didn't know you were in there" I said while fanning my face. "It's ok, just give me a minute" As I waited for the boy to come out of the bathroom, I couldn't help but to think about what I just saw. I quickly smacked my face. Don't think about it Jieun. "Jieun? The bathroom's all yours" "Oh thanks Jihoon" I thanked the boys who I saw in only a towel just moments ago.
After that I went to the couch and entered dreamland.

Who else will they meet along their journey, and to find what he is looking for, how far will the wizard have to wander west? NOTE: The above synopsis is intentionally written to be as spoiler-free as possible. If you would like a more in-detail synopsis, one that contains minor spoilers, please check out the "Synopsis" chapter at the beginning of this fiction. If you read and enjoy, please leave a rating or review! FORMERLY TITLED: THE GLIMMERLING This story was formerly titled "The Glimmerling", because the first part was a short story of that title; it has since been expanded upon, thus the title change. Chapters 1-8 (30k words) are the first 'arc', if you want to get a feel for the story. To give some context on the setting: Magic is a bit weaker in this story than you might be used to, and we start off following some relatively new magic users. For some perspective, being able to light a campfire with magic is considered relatively advanced for someone who is the age of the main character. Magic can become very powerful - and there are some examples of powerful wizards within this story - but it's not where the main characters are yet. Part of the story is about following them as they learn more about magic. Enemies are also very dangerous, and running, hiding, or trying to talk their way out of a dangerous situation is often a better choice than fighting for the characters. While I have added tags for traumatizing content, sexuality, violence, swearing, etc. I try to avoid super-explicit descriptions of these things. But they are part of the story.
